The Marauders' Era
A loud bang was heard, along with a shriek, coming from the Great Hall. If you were to walk in that day, the scene before your eyes would be . . . disturbing, to say the least.
A couple of Slytherins, more specifically, Lucius Malfoy and his gang were hanging from their ankles, upside down. The shriek had come from no one, but miss Bellatrix herself, though she would not admit it.
If looks could kill, the entire Great Hall would be filled with corpses, but luckily they couldn't, so Lucius had to make do with just glaring.
"What in the name of Godric is happening here!?"
The kids in the Great Hall looked at the Professor, and turned back to their food hastily, not wanting to get caught in the rage of Professor McGonagall.
Well, all but four of the students had the decency to turn.
Seeing this, the Deputy Headmistress sighed, and got the floating students down with the flick of her wand. Then, looking at the four, she said in a resigned tone ,"To my office. Now."
The Marauders didn't question her, nor did they object, but they followed her out with a proud expression on their faces. Well, James and Sirius did. Remus and Peter had somewhat of a guilty look on their faces.
After they were seated in front of McGonagall, she asked sternly, "What was the reason for you to use that dangerous of a spell in the Great Hall and in front of students no less?"
"She didn't deny that they didn't deserve it," said Sirius to James quietly, James silently agreeing with Sirius.
"We- we were just getting back at them for. . . something that they had done, that's all," said James, in an innocent tone.
"Well, whatever they had done couldn't be that serious to make them hang by their ankles would it?" asked McGonagall.
"They, no Snape tried following Moony to the Whomping Willow again. On Lucius' orders," said Sirius, in a tone between anger on Snape and overprotectiveness on Remus.
McGonagall's eyebrow raised in questioning. "Is that so? Well, then I suppose that what they did was serious," the Marauders' faces was about to beam with triumph, but McGonagall wasn't done ,"However 'justified' your actions were, they were serious, so, detention for a week."
The Marauders groaned loudly at that. "Do you want it to be two weeks?"
Shaking their heads vigorously, they ran out the door, stumbling multiple times. As they went out, she could already hear Sirius' voice, planning their next prank.
She smiled slightly to herself as she went back to grading the Transfiguration papers.
'May they never change'
