A young five year old boy with short pale blue hair and periwinkle eyes around the age of five was wearing a golden short sleeve shirt with a black star on the back and white pants running down a long hallway.

"Mother! Father! I'm going to the park!" He yelled.

"Akio, no leaving without Megumi," A woman with long white hair tied up in a bun and periwinkle eyes said, cutting the boy off in his tracks.

She wore a yellow and black Kimono with a black star symbol on her shoulder and a white skirt.

"You know that you're not allowed with Megumi, your guard, if your dad or I can't take you," She said with her arms crossed."I have to get the twins to nap, and your father has a clan meeting."

"I understand. Were Megumi then?" He asked.

"Here I am, Akio-sama," Megumi greeted, walking down the stairs."I was talking to your father. He wants you back by lunch for training."

A young seventeen-year-old female with shoulder-length blonde hair with ice blue eyes walked down the stairs wearing a yellow and black long sleeves shirt with a black star on the front of it and black shorts.

"Understand, I thought my training was canceled," Akio said.

"As clan heir, the elders want you to start your kusarigamajutsu training," Megumi explained.

"She right as the heir, it about time you train to us are clan specialty weapon," His mother said.

"Understand now. Can we go play before I have to come back for training?" He asked.

"Alright, let's go; Akio-sama won't keep you back any longer," Megumi walked the young boy towards the door.

"Finally, playtime!" He cheered, following her out of the large house after putting his black sandals on.

Akio and Megumi we're currently walking through the village towards the park.

As he was walking, he couldn't help but feel all the eyes of the villages looking at him.

"Why are they looking at me?" Akio asked quietly.

"It can't help you have your mother's beautiful eyes, but with your father's hair and heartthrob looks, people are bound to have eyes on you," Megumi said, smiling as she and Akio continued walking."Plus, you are the heir of the Ōshiro, the third noble clan since the Warring States era."

"Oh, so my father got the same looks?"

Megumi nodded."Alright, go play. Now don't go too far from my site," She said.

"I know as the heir of the clan wants me watched by a guard at all times out if mother and father aren't with me grandfather orders," He stated calmly.

"Now go on and play with other kids until it is time to go," She signaled for him to join the other kids in the park playing.

Akio nodded and ran off to play.

Akio was now sitting on the swing, swinging, as he heard a commotion from nearby. He raised an eyebrow as he got off the swing to see what was happening.

As he started to make his way over in the direction of the commotion, he spotted a young girl around his age with short pink hair and green eyes sitting against a tree with her knees held against her chest.

A group of five girls were gathered around her, laughing at her for some reason.

'I wonder what those girls are doing?' He thought as he was making his way over to the girl who he noticed was about to burst into tears.

He quickly walked over to the scene and stood in between the almost crying girl and the five other girls bullying her.

"Hey there, what do you think you're doing to my friend!" He shouted with his arms crossed, making the pink hair girl look at him, surprised.

"What it looks like?" The girl who was the group leader asked with her eyes narrow.

"It looks like you're being a loser. My bad, I shouldn't be talking to losers like you. That's what my grandfather always says," He smiled."Why don't you come with me? You shouldn't be around them either, or you catch loser ness," He said, helping the pinkette up.

Akio then quickly walked away, leaving them speechless by his last comment to he, and the girl walked away.

"Those girls are horrible. Making fun of someone for no good reason. My grandfather right for once people can be the worse," He commented, annoyed."So anyway, are okay umm..." He trailed off, not knowing her name.

"S-Sakura...." Sakura stuttered as she tried to hold back her tears.

"Ah, so Sakura, what were they laughing about?" Akio asked as he looked into Sakura's green eyes and saw that she was close to crying.

"Hold on wait! Wh-what did I do?! Did I do something to make it worse? Please tell me how I can make things better," Akio said as he started to worry, thinking he had done something to upset Sakura.

"You're not going to make fun of me as everyone else does?" She asked nervously.

"Make fun of you? Weren't you listening to me? I think it isn't very nice to do that. So, of course, I won't make fun of you, but why were they making fun of you?" He asked.

"It's because of my forehead. It's large, and everyone is making fun of me for it. I try hiding it, but nothing works," Sakura started playing with the bangs that lay across her forehead.

Akio looked at the girl curiously and moved her hand away from her face as he or a better look at her forehead for himself.

"I guess they are right. It is a little bigger than normal..." Akio's words almost made Sakura burst into tears, but then stopped as he suddenly let out a deep sigh."It makes me jealous, Sakura."

Jealous?"

"Well yeah! My mother always told me that having a big forehead means you have a big brain. So that means your going to be really smart. I just know you will. All the other girls are just jealous of you because you will be smarter than them and get a lot of guys," He said, giving her a beautiful smile with his head tilted slightly.

Sakura looked up in surprise. She never heard such kind words before. Her green eyes looked up into his perwinkle eyes, and what she saw really were the eyes of a kind and sincere person. However, what really threw her off was his amazing smile.

"You...you really think so?" Sakura stuttered as her tears started to clear up.

"Yes, of course! Just wait and see. You'll be the smartest student in the academy, if you chose to be a ninja. Anyone will be lucky to have you, and most boys love smart girl," He stated.

Akio's words seemed to have really gotten through to Sakura. The tears she was crying only moments before were now completely clear. A slightly red tone appeared on her face as he continued to smile at her.

"Anyway, Sakura, I got to go. I'll see Megumi getting up means that my training with my father is starting soon," Akio said, waving bye to Sakura.

"Wait, I didn't get your name," Sakura said.

"The name Akio Ōshiro!" He called back as he ran over to Megumi so they could head home for his training session.

I originally wasn't going to publish this until the end of The Crystal Serpent book 1, but I decided that since it is getting pretty close to that point that, I go ahead and publish the first chapter. I hope you enjoy it.
