Welcome Back!
This is my own idea and not a request! Ahh sorry but the requests will be back here soon I promise ;^; I've just been so so so busy but hopefully the other admins can help with this account for a little while
ANYWAYS
This is a really pastel-esqe oneshot and I'm actually really proud of it haha
JESSE USED: Female; One of the new S2 Jesse skins because they're so pretty and pastel but underrated like common guys
-
Jesse had been pretty adamant about leaving the rain-forest, for whatever reason. Petra was willing to go along with it, even if she hated leaving the beautiful tropical forests. The two trekked along the bottom, Jesse complaining of the humidity and Petra glancing at the swirling colours of bright fern greens and teals and limes. A few brightly-coloured parrots flew by wildly, squawking melodically.
It was almost morning.
"So - where are we going this time?" Petra smiled curiously at her much shorter but more chipper friend.
"You'll see," Was all she replied back. Petra rolled her eyes but didn't complain. Soon they were at a small beach.
It was morning now, the moon sinking behind the horizon and leaving behind an ever-growing sky of light seafoam teal and bubbling sparkling foamy purples.
The beach itself was almost pastel in the strange way, the reddish brown terra cotta and dusty-golden-coral sand mixed with light bubbling lavender foam. Out lay a turquoise sea filled to the brim with coral and fish.
By the side, their small wooden terra cotta shack lay where the two had been staying for the week.
"No seriously Jesse - where are we going?"
"Get in the boat," Jesse said with the wink, the golden-beige skinned girl placing a simple acacia boat in the water. The current kept pushing it back near the land.
Petra groaned. What was this about?
The two got in the boat, with Jesse in front (kind of expected,) and Petra sat back, relaxing, wondering where they were going, and excitement filled her mind. She took out a small lavender that Jesse had used for maps and drawings of the places they visited so far since leaving a few months ago.
There was a big map in front and a small drawing of the two, adorably. Then a few sketches and paintings of their adventures and Jesse's awkward thoughts.
So far they had been to many places: a desert, a mesa, an entire biome made entirely of the weird foamy soap as its surface and little weird soap creatures, a sea temple entirely on land, and many more places.
Though not one place mentioned or even hinted to where they were going to next.
Petra placed her head back, feeling the calming currents as Jesse stirred and turned the tiny boat through the sea.
It had been awesome to travel with Jesse for the past few months - a dream come true, and for sure a welcoming change from their recent...challenge.
She almost felt bad for leaving.
She should've at least helped with the repairs in some way before just up and leaving, but there were just too many painful memories that she associated with...
Petra grimaced.
...all of it.
She sighed, sitting back up again - she didn't want to think about it too much. Sudden salt water splashed her face, and Petra suddenly felt much better. She was out adventuring, with her best friend no less!
There were still many more areas to explore, and soon, maybe Jack and Nurm could explore with them! Then they could make maps and travel the entirety of this world if they wanted to...
That feeling was amazing.
Although it felt like it was missing something...or someone.
"How much longer until we get there?" Petra wondered after a good while of boating - and swimming when Jesse had accidently bumped the boat against a long piece of coral and had broken it, then more boating after the two had fixed it - leaning forwards.
Jesse looked a bit nervous but excited. "Nothing - nowhere, I mean - in a little while. I promise."
Petra groaned.
"Fine - well, at least we can talk a bit. Where should we go after this special place you talked about?"
"Well, maybe an ice spikes?" Jesse suggested, and Petra nodded thoughtfully. "That sounds cool -though we'd probably have to be prepared for-"
"We're here!"
"Wha-already?"
Jesse didn't reply, simply getting out of the boat. It was now for sure day, puffy cream clouds over a sparkling seafoam green-teal sky, the sunrise colours still evident, twinkling along the horizon in purples and yellows and corals.
Petra yawned.
"It's too early for this, Jesse."
Again Jesse didn't reply, breaking the boat, an excited twinkle in her eye. "You know how you said how you'd eventually like to travel to Beacontown again?" She stood up and Petra felt like she had been blasted with the waves and hit in the stomach.
"I - what?"
"Surprise!" Said a sudden voice, latching onto Petra's arm with a squeezing hug. In panic, Petra gave a yell and yanked her arm away, drawing out her sword in defense. "Whoa! Whoa! Petra calm down!"
"Ah!" Petra exclaimed, looking down at a smaller boy with square glasses atop his nose and a skinny frame. "Sorry Radar!" Petra exclaimed, helping him up.
He looked just a bit taller now, with more freckles, and was wearing a letterman jacket the colours of the popping lavender purples and violets, with bright turquoise khakis.
"Nice outfit! You've grown!" Jesse complimented him brightly, ruffling his hair.
"Wow - thank you! Lukas gave me the jacket - he said it'd look good on me!"
That name - Petra wanted to run far away from it. She wanted to take the name and dive it under the sea and bury it in the sand, throw it into the air and let the wind take it.
But she couldn't.
Because she loved that name.
She hadn't heard it in months. How was he doing? How was he interacting with people, talking to them? Did he still love exploring, feeling saltwater on his face and traveling the biomes and making maps and running through worlds? Did he still think about her and Jesse, what they were doing? So many questions bubbled under her skin.
Her feet squelched in the muddy heather-pink sand. A few bubbles over the sand popped.
"How is he?" She ended up blurting out. "Lukas, I mean." His name almost felt weird and awkward in her mouth, as she had refused to say it for the months she and Jesse had been exploring.
"Oh!"
Jesse had a knowing muddled expression gleaming in her eyes, and she seemed almost sympathetic, but instead she awkwardly took Petra hand. "Well, we're about to find out." Jesse looked back for a brief moment.
"Uh- please cover your eyes with something."
"Ooh - I'll do it!" Radar exclaimed eagerly. He placed his hands over Petra's eyes and stayed in an almost humorous arch as they made their way through the sandy beach area. Petra's feet continued to squish and squelch uncomfortably, until finally she felt her feet touch comfortable earth.
Much better.
She could hear pigs snuffling in the distance, sheep baaing and the warm wind whistling gently. On the way, she thought about Lukas. It had felt weird not having him around, but after that event...after Jesse had become mayor, she had Lukas had grown distant. He had stopped caring about...his friends.
She missed the Lukas that was a complete nerd and happy coward, who chased seagulls along the beach and laughed, who solved puzzles and made bad puns and had platonic hot-cocoa making sleepovers with her and who had an obvious crush on her that she pretended to not know about...
She missed her Lukas.
She felt her shoulders slump slightly. "What's wrong, Petra?" She heard Radar ask. She chuckled slightly, ruffling his head. "Don't worry about it, Radar. You're fine."
Maybe it would be good to see him again, she tried to convince herself as they walked along. They could reconcile and reunite, and maybe go back to how things used to be...
Finally, the burble of talking and laughing people reached her ears. A few people were murmuring and chatting in excitement and sudden recognition, and Radar would shush them softly.
Finally. Radar pulled away his hands, and Petra gasped.
Beacontown.
(Um so I'm totally about to totally reinvent Beacontown just ignore me for like four paragraphs of just descriptions lol)
It didn't even look like the same town.
The white building that usually housed Jesse's treasure room looked like nothing short of a castle. It was a heck of a lot bigger and a cream-white colour with banners of shimmering dusty golden rose that would change colour with the flicks of wind.
There seemed to almost be different areas of town; a sea-themed area that was made with builds of swirling coral and fish, all bathed in a dark turquoise shimmering light, a large area was dedicated to different mobs like skeletons and zombies, with mycelium flooring and bat decorations.
A desert-like area gave way to a beach-soapy-like terrain. Every single build in these different areas meshed well together, coming together and melting together, or twirling up and twisting to the sky.
Every so often there would be a random build that would be incredible and unique and - kind of weird, but still pretty cool - that would make her 'whoa,' slightly under her breath.
Apart from these areas were many-wood booths, brightly-coloured and alive with food or parrots, and then twisted into Jack and Nurm's Adventure Emporium. More buildings were now made and the entire town felt more united together.
A few parrots flew by.
And there, in the center of it all, was a bright aquamarine-coloured prizmarine-textured banner, with big swirling letters saying WELCOME BACK JESSE AND PETRA!
Balloons of all colours swirled around Petra, and gasping she put her hand to her mouth, amazed. Multiple townspeople cheered at them, sparkling if they made eye contact with either girl and snapping photos.
"But I don't even live here..." She whispered slightly, still in awe. Jesse sent her a smile. "When you left, you said this still didn't feel like your home. Well, we'll make it your home. And you can come back whenever you like," Said a voice far too familiar for Petra's liking.
Lukas.
Standing slightly leaning against a coral-coloured anemone build , bathed in a dark turquoise light, was Lukas. Petra wanted to cry. There he was, wearing his red-and-white striped shirt and a black vest, his hair suddenly more poofy and strawberry blonde.
Petra, unthinking, ran to him, pulling him into a bear hug. He seemed alarmed but hugged her back every ounce.
"I'm so sorry for ignoring you," He whispered. Petra squeezed him tighter, then laughed. "No. You're perfect."
Absolutely perfect.
More people cheered.
"So - where's this place I'll be living at?" She asked. Lukas raised an eyebrow. "You don't know?"
Petra laughed. "I didn't even know we were coming here today!" Lukas excitedly pulled on her sleeve, with Radar and Jesse excitedly pushing from behind. Petra glared at them. "I can move, you know," She exclaimed jokingly.
They began to enter Jack and Nurm's Adventure Emporium, then stopped, and Lukas steered her towards the back of the place. "Do you know where we're going?" Petra asked Jesse. Jesse shook her head. Petra stuck out her tongue at Jesse.
Attached to the back was a simple little house. It was Acacia wood, unlike the oak wooden building. It was lifted from the ground, self-stationary and quite big.
It was a tree-house, Petra realized, wanting to cry all over again. Well, almost.
There were a few unconnected stairs leading up to it, and Petra opened the door after climbing the stairs to reveal an amazing little home.
There was a small comfy looking bedroom and a tiny kitchen, with many prizmarine coloured maps and sandy rose posters lining the walls. Small glow-in-the-dark stars lined the walls and small random objects and unique oddities like snow-globes or stuffed animals made Petra feel like a kid again. There was a shelf for her weapons, as well as many photos taken of their previous adventures, and something above called an Adventure Planner.

Monday: Adventure w/ Radar finding prizmarine near the beach!
Tuesday: Jesse wants to go find materials for new builds
Wednesday: Portal Hopping (!?)
-
And finally there was a small trap-door leading to Jack and Nurm's building below. Petra finally understood. "This is my home..."
"And you can leave whenever you want!" Jesse explained. "I've wanted to be more free lately, so I'm sharing my mayor-ship with Radar. I can live here with you whenever we're about to go on an adventure, then we'll wake up early, and we can adventure!"
"There's a few portals near the edge of town that lead to BoomTown and Redstonia, so Axel and Olivia can join too, and I've looked with Jack and Nurm and there's a lot more world to explore than you think, and I promise I'll adventure with you guys a lot more as of-"
Petra hugged him again.
And she wasn't letting him go ever again.
Well...metaphorically.

Yayy I finished
