Lukas's POV
I stood in front of my bathroom mirror as I fixed my hair. I was getting ready for the date I asked Jess out to. My hands trembled a bit as I added more hair gel to my hair. I could barely ask Jess out, how am I supposed to talk to her without screwing up?!

This was a more casual date, so there was no need to dress up all fancy. I grabbed my Ocelot jacket and headed out the door. To be honest, I don't even know why I still wear this jacket. As soon as I left my house, I felt the cool wind blow against me, as if telling me that this is a bad idea and that I should just turn around and go home, but I continued walking to Jess's house anyways. She and her brother didn't live far from me, just a few streets away. The closer I got to her house, the more nervous I grew. Maybe this was a bad idea...she probably only said yes because she's such a nice person and didn't want to hurt my feelings. Or maybe she got dared to by Petra or something. Maybe she forgot about this date...thoughts flooded my head and before I knew it, I already arrived.

I gathered up all my courage and walked towards the front door. I took a deep breath and knocked. Knock knock. After a while, the door opened and I saw Jesse. "JESS! YOUR BOYFRIEND'S HERE!" Jesse called out. I immediately felt my cheeks go hot when I heard him say the word "boyfriend". This is our first date, I'm not even sure if she likes me back! But some part of me is happy he said that. "Coming! And he's NOT my boyfriend!" I heard Jess yell back, followed by some footsteps coming down the stairs. "Yet," Jesse finished with a smirk on his face. Then he turned his attention to me. "Take care of her, Lukas,"

"I will," I replied, my voice surprisingly steady. Jesse smiled and then walked off, and soon Jess came. "Sorry about umm Jesse," She said smiling at me. "I-it's fine," I quickly replied, reassuring her. We walked to the park while talking to each other about ourselves. And luckily for me, I didn't stutter a single bit. I actually sounded quite confident, even though on the inside, I was shaking with fear.

Soon, we arrived at the park and we sat down on the grass, near the lake. There were fountains bursting out everywhere, making the scene amazing. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Jess asked me. "Not as beautiful as you," I replied without thinking. Oh god... why did I say that...I just stuffed up. Right there. I expected Jess to look at me weirdly, but instead, she started blushing and looked away. Wait..so she likes me too?

I was gonna comfort her about it, but instead I started teasing her. "What's the matter Jess?" I asked her, smirking. "N-nothing..." She answered, not looking at me. "Then why are you blushing?" I smirked even more when I saw how embarrassed she looked. Jess playfully pushed me and buried her face in her knees. "I was just joking..." I laughed, making Jess groan. Then she looked up and smirked at me. "What?.." I asked her, while she had an up to no good face on.

"Come here," She said, gesturing me to follow her so we can get closer to the lake. "Okay..." I replied, standing up and following her. At the edge of the lake, we saw two birds fighting over a crumb of bread. I chuckled a bit and Jess giggled. "You think that's funny?" She asked me smirking. "Umm yea?..." I replied, looking at her. "Guess what's even funnier?" Her smirk grew wider. "Uhh.. I don't know..." I said, getting slightly worried, "THIS!" Jess said and pushed me into the lake. I let out a yelp as I splashed in.

I opened my eyes underwater, and surprisingly, the water was clear, which meant it was clean. I rose back to the top, panting. Jess was looking at me and laughing, until I had an idea. "Okay okay, you had your fun..now help me out," I said, making her stop laughing. "Okay," Jess replied, reaching out her hand. I took this opportunity to grab her hand and pull her in the lake as well. She let out a small scream as she fell into the water. Soon she came back up to the surface, "That was NOT funny!" She said in between pants. "Yes it was," I smirked at her, making her pout slightly. I looked at her in the eyes, and she looked at me back. We started getting closer and closer, and soon, I closed the gap between us. Jess pulled us underwater as we both shared our first kiss. We stayed there for a long time until we finally had to break apart, due the the lack of air.

Later, we got kicked out of the park, since there was a sign that read: NO SWIMMING. And well, we basically just went swimming, but it was worth it. Jess and I are boyfriend and girlfriend now, and I have never been more happy in my life.
