Linked Love

If any of you know GreyFox, you've probably heard of her new series called Linked Love. This is what I think will happen in the story. But dang, I just realized this is really dark. But it does get really cheesy at times. ^.^

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesse looked up at the person she had accidentally run into. Her green eyes widened in shock.
"Hey, sorry about that, you okay?"
Jesse met the blue eyes of the man who had caught her before she fell. There was nothing in his eyes that said he recognized her.
The ebony-haired girl started to tear up. She quickly stood up straight and dropped her head, trying to prevent any tears from falling.
"Is everything okay?"
Jesse nearly turned on her heel and ran. She had to face this Lukas. She needed that key to get back home.
"Y-Yeah. I just had a question to ask....."
"Oh, what is it?"
"Do you by any chance have a key that you found and have no real use for?"
Lukas raised an eyebrow.
"A key that has no use? Why would you need that?"
Jesse started to mentally freak out. Should she tell the truth? Should she lie? Would he give her the key if she told the truth?
"I-I'm a collector. I collect odd things. Keys with no use, clocks that don't work, you know..."
'Wow. Stooping to lying. Greeeaaaaaaaaat.'
"Oh. Well, that's cool. Yeah, I have a key like that. Here."
With that, Lukas dropped a rusted key into Jesse's hand. This one was different from the others. Mainly because of the fact this one was rusted beyond belief while the others were nice and shiny.
"Thanks. This is perfect."
Jesse quickly pocketed the key and turned on her heel, running away. She had to get back to Reva's sister so she could find where the portal to her world was.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"We're almost there."

Jesse followed Ivy as they trekked up the mountain. They finally reached the top of the mountain. There was nothing there.

"Uhhh, not to be rude but, there's nothing here."

"It's here. Trust me."

Ivy walked forward and kneeled on the ground, running her hand across the dirt. She brushed away some and motioned for Jesse to walk over. Jesse came up and kneeled beside Ivy. There were five holes in the ground in a small circle.

"Put the keys in each hole."

Jesse grabbed the keys and placed each one in each slot until she only had one key left.

Lukas' key.

She went up to the last hole and placed the key in the slot.

Well, tried to.

No matter what she did, the key wouldn't fit. Jesse finally gave up and sat on the ground, looking at the key in anguish.

"Why won't it work?" she whimpered.

"Maybe because you don't know the true reason you want to go home."

Jesse turned to look at Ivy. Her green gaze was filled with curiosity and confusion.

"You know exactly why you want to go home to see your friends Olivia, Axel, Petra, and Ivor. But do you believe the true reason you want to go home to see Lukas?"

Jesse was still confused by Ivy's words. True reason to go home? But it was the same for her other friends! She wanted to go home to be with her friends, whether they be sarcastic, funny, smart, destructive, or sweet. But then why would Ivy say that she didn't believe the true reason she wanted to go home?

Her mind blocked the thoughts from her heart. She had believed her head this whole time when she had always been told to follow her heart. Jesse pushed her mind's thoughts out of the way, letting her heart guide her.

Her heart started to beat faster, her cheeks flushed pink, and a smile wormed its way onto her face at the thought of Lukas. When Jesse's green eyes opened, she uttered three words she had never thought she'd ever say.

"I love him......"

Ivy nodded. Jesse looked down at the key in her grasp as it glowed a golden color. When the glow disappeared, the key was a beautiful gold with a red heart on the end. It was the grandest of all the keys since the others were a shiny silver.

Jesse placed the key into the slot, having no trouble at all. She stood up as the ground started to shake. A hole started to open up in the center of the keys, growing wider and wider. Finally, the shaking stopped and the hole stopped growing. Jesse looked over at Ivy with wide eyes. Ivy nodded in confirmation to Jesse's unspoken question. At Ivy's approval, Jesse wasted no time in jumping down into the hole, falling down into the abyss.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Jesse opened her eyes, she was laying on the ground. She looked around and saw she was in the exact spot she had 'died' in her own world. Jesse stood up and looked around, unable to keep a smile off her face. She was back!
A thud from behind her made her turn around. Sitting on the ground was a fairly large bag with a note. Jesse kneeled down and grabbed the note, reading it with a smile.
Jesse,
You're gonna need this. Trust me.
~Ivy
Jesse placed the note in her inventory and opened the bag, marveling at what was contained inside.
A beautiful set of armor lay nestled in the fabric of the bag.
(Imagine it like this, but the skirt is actually pants and there is a brown mask over the bottom half of Jesse's face and a hood over her head)
Jesse smiled at the armor. She reached in and grabbed the armor, carefully putting it on over her clothing. There was one more thing in the bag, and Jesse pulled out an enchanted diamond sword. She smiled behind the mask. She was ready for anything Reva planned to throw at her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Reva sat on her throne over the people gathered in the square. Shortly after killing Jesse, she brought the rest of the Order to their knees. Now, she ruled Beacontown and the rest of the world. A year had passed since then, with no sign of Jesse returning from that other dimension. Reva always smirked that her plan to get rid of Jesse worked perfectly, keeping her stuck in a different dimension.

"Citizens. Today, we are gathered here to celebrate my rise to power. And the death of the tyrannical ruler, Jesse."

The crowd kept their angry responses to themselves. They would surely be executed if they spoke out of turn, especially if they insulted Reva.

"And to celebrate this day, I have planned a very special event. The execution of the mighty Order of the Stone."

Every gaze turned to see the Order on their knees on a podium just lower than Reva's. She had the perfect view of seeing the Order executed. The members were in horrible condition. They were pale from lack of sunlight, red marks and purple bruises littered their bodies from beatings, their bones showing from lack of food, and their eyes glittering with despair.

"Now, exe-"

"STOP!"

Every head turned to the voice which had interrupted Reva. The crowd parted to reveal a figure standing just inside the gates. They were wearing full armor and a mask and hood, hiding their identity. But their voice was obviously a female's.

"Who dares interrupt me?"

"Ummm, let's see, who else interrupted you. No one but me!"

Reva's eyes narrowed at the figure.

"Who are you?"

"None of your concern. What you should be concerned about is this proposition I have."

Reva's eyes grew curious at the word of a proposition.

"Go on."

"I challenge you to a duel. If I win, you will step down from your throne, relinquishing your hold over this world, and go to prison."

Reva looked down at the figure with a scornful look in her eyes.

"You think you can beat me? I am the one who killed the mighty leader of the Order of the Stone!"

"Oh, I know. But I'd also like to make mention you used a poison to defeat her. You would've never beaten her without that poison. And so the rules of our duel state no weapons other than swords. No bows or arrows, no potions, no poison. And no one interferes."

Every head turned to Reva. They anxiously awaited her response.

"Very well, I agree to this duel. But if I win, you will have your identity revealed to the world before you are executed with the Order."

"We have a deal."

The stranger walked forward, passing by everyone who gazed at her in awe. She had this air of strength and power about her. Something just told them she meant to free them and stop Reva's evil reign.

They met on the platform where the Order had been moved off to the side. They stopped at their side of the platform. Reva drew her weapon, the very one used to kill Jesse. Well, the sword that everyone thought was the one used to kill Jesse. The stranger drew her sword, slowly, allowing everyone to see the weapon she was using. To let Reva know she wasn't fooling around. Reva's eyes narrowed. And then they charged.

Reva swung her sword and the stranger immediately ducked. She kicked Reva in the side, sending her tumbling to the ground. Reva jumped up immediately and swung her sword again, which the stranger just barely blocked. The fight continued on with the outcome swinging in both directions. Once, it seemed like Reva was about to win, then the stranger would gain the upper hand again.

Finally, the stranger was hit in the side of the head with Reva's handle of her sword. The hit sent the stranger tumbling to the ground, her hood falling off and the mask falling down. Her head was lowered as her obsidian black hair fell over her shoulders.

Reva stood over the girl, a triumphant smirk on her face.

"You see what happens to those who stand up to me? They only are defeated. If Jesse died at my hand, then everyone else who stands up to me will!"

"That's where you're wrong."

The eyes turned to the girl.

"You never killed her. Only sent her into what felt like limbo."

The girl looked up, meeting Reva's gaze with her furious green eyes.

"And now she's back, ready for round 2."

The girl stood up, allowing her face to be shown to everyone. A collective gasp went through the crowd. The Order's eyes widened.

"J-Jess?"

Jesse looked over at Lukas and smiled. A stray teardrop fell down her cheek. Lukas' eyes were filling with tears, his mouth parted as if he was afraid if he uttered a word, she would disappear.

Jesse turned back to Reva, aiming her sword at her.

"Your reign has come to an end. You'll never hurt anyone ever again."

With that, Jesse charged forward.

The fight lasted for what felt like ages. Going back and forth, back and forth, no one being able to beat the other.

"Reva, this doesn't have to end with someone dying."

"Yes it does! Someone always has to die!"

"Life is already short, why cut it any shorter?"

"People deserve to feel the pain I feel!"

"What would Ivy say about this?"

Reva recoiled at Jesse's words.

"You don't know what she would want! She'd want to be avenged and for everyone to feel the pain her sister feels!"

"Yes, I do know what she would want. I should know, as she helped me get back home!"

Reva's mouth dropped at what Jesse said.

"W-What?"

"Your sister is alive. She was transported to another dimension, and she helped me get back here."

Reva looked at the ground.

"My sister is..... alive?"

"Yes, she's alive and well."

Reva took a deep, shaky breath, looking at the sword in her hand, tipped with the poison used to send Jesse to another dimension.

"I'll see my sister again....."

"Reva! No!"

Reva took her sword and stabbed herself in the stomach.

Everyone watched in shock and horror as Reva fell to the ground, smiling through the pain. Her eyes closed, and her breathing ceased. Everything was silent.

A cry of happiness went through the crowd. They were free from Reva! They hugged each other, strangers with strangers, rejoicing in their freedom.

Jesse stared at the body which slowly disappeared, leaving behind nothing but a sword. She picked up the sword and looked it over.

"She'll be happy now."

Jesse put the sword in her inventory and turned to the Order, who were all freed. Her gaze met Lukas'. Once again, their eyes filled with tears.

Jesse ran forward and leaped into Lukas' outstretched arms. He hugged her tightly and spun her around, both smiling as tears of joy ran down their cheeks. Lukas stopped spinning and smiled up at Jesse, meeting her gaze. Jesse smiled back, gently wiping away a tear on Lukas' cheek.

Slowly she leaned down and pressed her lips to Lukas'.

Lukas wasted no time in returning the kiss, smiling against Jesse's lips. They pulled apart after a moment, leaning their foreheads together.

Jesse was back,
And Lukas was never letting her go ever again.
