AN: This is set a few days after Truth but in this world, Marinette doesn't tell Ayla and her friends haven't done the whole intervention thing yet, they take Alex's advice and just went and got smoothies, sure she didn't tell them everything but she told them about how she wanted to be with Luka but couldn't let go of Adrien and it felt unfair but she truly didn't want to be with Adrien. She felt it was too much and Luka made her feel so safe. The girls agreed it was time to help her let go of Adrien and they would spend the weekend helping her.

Marinette sat up in bed at one am. Sleep not coming to her. Sure her friends and she had had a great time today and they had been supportive of helping her move past Adrien, but that wasn't the problem. Ladybug was the problem, could she tell Luka who she was? Would it be safe? Would he be at risk? She got tired of staring at green eyes, so she ripped them all down, tears rolling down her face. First loves were supposed to burn she supposed. After freeing herself from the pictures, she felt better, but she had to make it up to Luka. So she did the only thing she could think of at that moment. She transformed into Ladybug. Waking up a rather startled Tiki, who would likely be mad at her later.

She looked at Ladybug's costume, it felt so kiddish. She was the guardian for goodness sake and she was the one who held the power of creation at her fingertips, she knew if she was going to tell Luka she would need to protect him, she needed a good luck charm that he could keep with him... Wait! That's it, she's Ladybug she could just make one. She thought of  Luka and then thought of what she would want the charm to be, she opened her yoyo and pulled out a teal green snake. Perfect for him, she smiled.

She looked back up at herself and noticed her costume had changed, it looked more grown-up and yet still made her look like a teen. She pulled her hair out of the pig tales and shook it out. She felt good and without talking about Tiki about what she was about to do, she headed out to see if Luka was even still awake. 

She headed to Luka's home, and when she was about a block away, she heard his music, she gently landed on the dock in front of him. 

"Can't sleep Ladybug?" He didn't look up right away. He finished the song he was playing. 

"Something like." She leaned back and closed her eyes enjoying his music. 

"Woah. You look different. Trying to impress me Ladybug?" He teased as he set his guitar down. 

"What if I was?" She looked at him. 

"I would tell you, I love another girl." He walked over to where she was standing. "But I would ask why. I didn't think Ladybug had time for love." He gave her a small smile. 

"She doesn't, but she wants to know the boy she loves, trust her enough to take a risk." She handed him the charm. "This will keep you safe from akumas. You can add it to your Jagged Stone Pick Necklace." 

"Do you make a point of remembering all the ackumatized objects Ladybug?" Luka looked closely at her like he was trying to figure out where she was coming from.  

"Only the ones who matter to me." she smiled softly. 

He slipped the snake onto the necklace he was still wearing. "Thank you, but why do I matter so much to you?" 

She gave him a smile, "Do you trust me?" She offered her hand.

"Always Ladybug." He took her hand. She walked them to the stone path and then using her yoyo she flew them through the air. Landing on top of a tall building out of sight. "What do you want to show me?" 

Ladybug pulled out Trixs Miraculous and put it on. "Trix, Tiki unite!" Soon she stood before Luka as Lady Fox. "Close your eyes." She waited and he did. "Illions!"  Soon a golden cloud surrounded Luka and she stood outside. She created a version of herself in her school clothes with a Ladybug mask and a yoyo on her hip. She spoke through it. "Before you open your eyes,  If I told you this was only gonna hurt?" 

"I would risk the hurt, you seem like you need a friend someone to trust." He spoke calmly leaning back keeping his eyes closed. So trusting.  

"You can open your eyes now Luka." She saw him looking at 'Marinette'

"Mar... what how where are we? Where did Lady...fox go?" Then as if he really saw her mask for the first time. "Wait, Your?" 

Before he could finish a burning building came before him, with people called out for Ladybug, she looked to him, "If I warned you that the fire's gonna burn?" She pointed to the building. He took a running stance as if he'd forgotten this world wasn't real. "Would you walk in?" He nodding almost taking off. "Would you let me do it first?"He looked at her with understanding and moved into a relaxed stance. Watching the 'Marinette" yoyo off to the burning building. "Let me do it all in the name of love?" was what she called as she disappeared into the building. 

Then Luka found himself in darkness. He heard 'Marinette's' voice call to him, "Would you let me lead you even when you're blind?" He moved his hand around unable to find her. "In the darkness, in the middle of the night, in the silence, when there's no one by your side? Would you call in the name of love?" 

"Marinette where are you?" He called to her. As he called he find the golden world brought back to him. She stood next to him and his smile returned to his face. 

"If I told you we could bathe in all the lights?" She gestured to the world around them. "Would you rise up, come and meet me in the sky?" He nodded stepping toward her. She steps back and made the golden world fall, keeping herself as LAdy Fox out of sight, he was still looking at Lady Marinette. They were at the edge of the high building, "Would you trust me when you're jumping from the heights?" He nodded, slowly looking at the edge. "Would you fall in the name of love?" And as she spoke Lady Marinette fade. Quitely Marinette turned back into Ladybug and watched as Luka jumped off the edge. He didn't even question her, he trusted her with his life. She runs and jumped after him and caught him. And they landed with no problems. 

They held each other, she then whispered, "Spots off." all the boldness and bravery she had as Ladybug faded away and she felt like a small broken girl all over again. Luka took hold of her picking her up bridal style and found a small bench for them to sit on, he pulled her close into his body. 

"When there's madness, when there's poison in your head when the sadness leaves you broken in your bed; I will hold you in the depths of your despair. And it's all in the name of love." he whispered in her ears. "I understand now. You didn't have a choice you had to hide. it wasn't really lying." She clung to him. 

"I wanna testify, scream in the holy light. You bring me back to life, and it's all in the name of love." She stroked his face and whisper her words. "Is too late for us to love again?"

"Who said we ever stopped?" Luka chuckled and the warmth of it made her feel safe and ready to face the fire, the darkness, the falls and anything else that came her way, with her love looking out for her.
