Authors Note: This should probably say "Loosely Inspired by". Because I was listing to it and the idea came into my head. So this probably isn't a songfic, but oh well I wanted to include it here. Also aged up to like 19-17 range

Luka once again started at the only picture he and Marinette took while they were dating. It had been a year by now since she left him. He had decided he could handle her secrets for a time, but not forever and she couldn't say when her secrets could be released. So maybe they weren't meant for each other after all. But yet he missed her. He could think about her with it out ripping his heart out mostly. Finally, he had gone several weeks without texting her. Maybe communication had finally died out. His mind unwilling wandered back to the last things they said to each other. 

They sat in the park just outside her house. They'd seen the end coming for a while. The conversation was over, and so were they. Mari stood up and got ready to leave. Luka took her hand, "Hey Melody? If the world was ending you'd come over?"

"Right." She smiled sadly. "I'd come over and I'd stay the night, would you love me for the hell of it?" 

He still loved her and it was clear she did too, why did this hurt so much, "Always." he took a deep breath, "All our fears would be irrelevant and if the sky was falling and I'd hold you tight." 

She squeezed his hand, "And there wouldn't be a reason why..." She looked him in the eyes. 

And together they ended the chorus of their recent go-to song, "We would even have to say goodbye." And with that, she turned and walked away. Taking his heart with her. 

He still listened to that song, hoping it would somehow magically bring her to him. However today it didn't bring his melody, but his favourite hero, Ladybug. She came in through his window. She had a cut on her face, he quickly grabbed his first aid kit, she waved him off. "I think the world is ending." 

"Marinette?" he hadn't meant for it to come out, but it did. Even in her new guardian outfit, which she wore all the time now, she looked small and frightened. She simply nodded. "Oh, my Melody." He quickly got up locked his bedroom door, as he still lived with his mother even though he was more than old enough to have his own apartment. Then pulled Ladybug into his hands and sat on his bed. They didn't speak for a time, just existing back in the safety of each other's arms. "Melabug" he spoke softly, listing to her giggle at his nickname. "What happened?" 

"I found out who ShadowMoth is and luckily he saw me as Ladybug, he tried and to fight me. His staff nicked me and after that, I jumped down unified Tiki and Pagus and got away. And I need your help. But we need to train you, and me. You and I need to be a flawless team, I apparently can learn to remember what you remember so we can adapt plans together. Please, Luka, help me." 

He gently touched her cut, "For you, always." She pulled his miraculous out of her yo-yo and handed it to him. She didn't bother with the whole speech, she knew Luka already knew it. "So fill me in?" She dropped her transformation. 

They talked for hours not just about ShadowMoth but about everything. As the sun rose up in the sky, they had made a training plan and agreed to keep it a secret from Chat, until she and Luka could both remember what happened after second chance. Marinette remembering Chat Blanc, couldn't risk freighting him again. She wasn't sure what caused it, but she needed to they could keep Paris safe. 

 Thankfully thanks to being older, and the two of them having a relationship that was based on years of trust, it only took them a few weeks. However, for a reason Viprion and Ladybug didn't know yet, Chat Noir hearing Grabiral Agrest is ShadowMoth, I saw him transform,  was akumatised within minutes. So they used second change and never told him. Rather, Ladybug suggested she and Chat Noir challenge ShadowMoth to a battle. 

ShadowMoth had agreed to the challenge, they're where several conditions. One they were to fight outside of Pairs. Two no akumatiation. Three no other heroes. 

Now Viperion and Ladybug already had a plan because the odds of ShadowMoth following the rules were slim to none, Luka would call in a favour with his Dad, and get many of the common targets of ShadowMoths on a show on the boat. Luka would be hidden where he could restart them if needed. Marinette would turn into Pegabug and go get her hero team. Chat was let in on the plan so he could meet PegaBug in Viperions room which he would be given if he had to go on the boat so he could be transformed and ready to go for the fight.

Battle 100 

"Vie, I'm exhausted, it's been five days with no sleep. And no one knows but us. And we are going still stuck! We know we are on track on the same ending at the last 99 fights!" She was grateful that Luka and Sass could now detransform without losing his starting point, thanks to a powerup she found. 

"Me to Bug. Look, I know it's not what either of us wants, but we need to go sleep and look at this from refreshed mine. At least this time no one knows who you are and we know why Chat always gets turned into Chat Blanc." He pulled her close. 

"Poor Adrien and Kagami." She felt so bad for the couple, she had no clue if as heroes they knew they fought together or if they just worked well together without knowing. When Adrien saw his mom, ShadowMoth took advantage of the shock and on using Lila how had turned out to be working him, as an unlimited Akuma machine, had akumatized both of them. And likely this time just like the last 56 times, if she managed to get him to free Akuma's hold, she knew his own father would kill him. "I also just can't believe Nino and Alya as heroes would be so angry at me when Lila was revealed to be what I said they would still willing get akumatized by her" 

"Hey, that was like five timelines." Not that Luka wanted to defend them, but after he'd learned that Mari had had to erase Alya's mind, he had a greater understanding of why she left him, it never was Adrien like he had assumed.   

"The first five. After that, I stopped going to get them. And we haven't had that problem since. It was the right choice." She sighed, "I'm so tired." She fell into him. 

"Look we know that we have several hours before Chat will grow impatient and go on a destructive rampage looking for you. We also know that any "akumas" we see are fakes from Valpina, just to wear us out, so let's go to my boat and detransform and sleep for five hours make a new plan, and then start over okay?" 

She didn't speak she just nodded. He carried her back to the boat and they both left for about four and a half hours when they both woke up, a bit panicked that they'd overslept. "Mar it's okay, we still have an hour and a half still we need to leave. We can sleep for a little bit more if you want." 

Mari looked at him, she didn't want to sleep, she felt stressed and restless, she needs a distraction before she could make a plan. "Hey, Luka, the world is ending and I come over." 

"Right?" He looked at her with a raised brow. "You came over and you stayed the "night"? he winked. Thinking she wanted a laugh. 

"Would you love me for the hell of it?" She leaned in and kissed him, and he understood.

After their nap and momentary distraction, they sat at his table and made a new plan. "Adrien and Kagami can't come to the battle at all. I'll need him to give me his miraculous. It won't be forever just for this battle after we know he can't be akumatized anymore, it's for the best. You will have to be Viper Noir but Look like Snake Noir so everyone thinks he is with me. And I'm gonna need to use Multi Mouse." 

"Sounds good. I would also stop bring any other heroes in, it's too risky with Lila. out there." Luka offered. 

"It's the best chance, based on what we've learned so far." She breathes in slowly. "Let's do it again." 

Battle 101

Transforming into Pegabug, she created a portal into Adrien's room, just as he was getting ready to leave. "Adrien wait." 

"Ladybug? Why?"

"Look Kitty, I don't have time to explain. Viperion and I are on battle 101 and we are beat, unlike you, we remember everything. I have four and half hours of sleep, for five days. I need you to give me you miraculous." Adrien guarded it for a second. "I swear on my own life if this fails you won't even remember I took it, and if it works, trust me you will thank you. I can't watch you and Kagami die again. It's too painful, please, Vie will make it so he looked like you did when you wore both. No one will know, But trust me, I watched you get akumatized and die too many times." 

"Oh, LB that sounds awful, alright I trust you. I assume that means you don't mean my dragon either?" He bushed. 

"No, I can't risk her either. But I need you to get her here now." One text later she was in the room. 

"PegaBug? Ladybug?" She looked between her and Adrien. 

"No time for formalities. You and Adrien need to avoid the news until I come for you. leave your phones here and Chat, take her to Vies' room, no one will look for you there. Please this is critical, I need you to not be at risk until I know ShadowMoth is defeated. Please." They both agreed. And PegaBug left. 

Soon she and Luka were battle-ready. Mari Become MultiBug and MultiBee. MultiBug stayed with Viper Noir and MultiBee ran off to stop Lila before she could even start. 

This battle went much better. When ShadowMoth couldn't reach Lila he had panicked. And lost his focus. Thanks to Viper Noirs quick thinking he and MultiBug held him down until MutiBee could come and freeze him too. And just like that, the battle was done. No real harm down. With both miraculous' in hand. MultiBee ununited. and formed into a full-sized MultiBug and then she became LadyBug again. Viper Noir when to get Lila and happened to catch Nathalie too who and tried to free Lila to save her boss. 

Calling on her charm with happened to be a phone, she the police who came and handcuffed the three villains. Once she knew they couldn't get away she called on Miraculous Ladybug, and the three villains other than Nathalie could move again. 

PegaBug bought Adrien his ring back, She told him what happened and both he and Kagami went to their phones. Her mother had already decided Adrien would stay with them until suitable arrangements could be made for him. 

After a few weeks, Luka offered Adrien an option that was perfect, he and Luka would go rent an apartment together. Giving them more freedom with their girlfriends, and a great place to start patrol for the new permanent four heroes of Paris. 

At the year mark of the 101st battle, Luka and Mari sat in their spot in the park and watch the dragon and Cat jump through the city. "Hey Luka?" 

"Hmm?" He played with her hair. 

"The world didn't end?" She smiled.

"Right, Will you still come and spend the night?" He pulled her close. 

"All you have to do is ask. Will you still love me for the hell of it?" She gasped as he kissed her neck. 

"Always." He whispered so close to her ear it gave her goosebumps. "All our fears were irrelevant, but if the sky starts falling, I'll hold you tight." 

"And there isn't a reason why," She turned so her lips were a mere breath away. 

He joined her on that last line again, "We will ever have to say goodbye." And he kissed her. Glad that he and the girl he loved were free to have a normal life. Or at least as normal as one can.
