Elira stood in front of her closet, wondering how the fuck did she get herself into this situation.
This one time, she didn't want the dresser to pick out her clothes, and so she paced in front of the opened cupboards, looking over the elegant formals and dresses she didn't fully recognise.
She stopped in front of the sundresses, biting her lip in contemplation as she flipped through them.
She stopped when her fingers found a structured cotton dress in blush, delicate roses printed all over it.
She pursed her lips as she turned it over in her hands, holding it up in front of her in the mirror,
"I guess this is what we're doing now," she said to no one in particular as she went into the dressing room to get changed.
....
Yoongi stepped out of the Korean embassy, a newfound nervousness making him fidget with his fingers
The rest of the day was supposed to be the city tour with Elira.
He looked up at the trees lining the street in front of the embassy as he waited for the car to pull up.
The late afternoon sun shone through the branches as a gentle breeze ruffled the trees, making him smile.
....
He walked up to Elira, looking at the ground, sunglasses on her nose, a string of pearls around her neck, her hands behind her back, Clutching a handbag as she kicked something on the ground, completely oblivious of his arrival.
"Your majesty?" Yoongi whispered, making her jump before looking up at him,
"Shall we?" he asked with a smile as happiness replaced the surprise on her face.
Elira interlocked his arm with hers. They took a couple of steps before he leaned in and whispered, her familiar sweet citrus scent tickling his nose "You look beautiful today,"
Elira snorted in an attempt to hide the obvious blush creeping up her cheeks, "When do I not?"
Yoongi chuckled, "Fair enough," he turned to face her, "So, where do we begin?"
Elira pointed to her car turning the corner, "We could work our way from the outside in?"
"Sounds like a plan"
....
The car drove around Leas, Elira pointing out the areas of interest, from the national university to the museums and art galleries, occasionally chiming in with her memories from those places.
"There was this one time I took a piece of chocolate from an illuminated table and since nobody was paying attention, I opened it up and popped it in my mouth and turns out that was an art piece? Everyone had the scariest looks on their faces, even papa, who didn't know how to react, but then the artist, who was a nice old man laughed it off and asked me if the candy was good instead,"
"You weren't the brightest bulb in the box were you?"
"I still find it amusing that academically I could do so much but when it came to things like this I just did the most random shit-" Elira shrugged her shoulders and laughed as Yoongi chuckled.
...
They took a stroll along the central boulevard of Leas, the flowering trees lining the sidewalk filtering the evening sun
Old stone buildings lined the roads, cafes, bookstores, boutiques, and embassies sprinkled here and adorned the boulevard.
"My grandfather knew some things were meant to be untouched. The city centre of Leas is the same as it was 150 years ago, all of it protected by royal decree," Elira said as she looked at the facades, not noticing Yoongi's eyes had never left her face as he looked on, a subtle smile on his lips.
Elira's steps were cut short when a security personnel zoomed past her and stood in front of her in defence.
She peeked over his shoulder and saw a startled little girl, her eyes filled with tears, threatening to spill over.
"It's alright," she cooed as she walked up and took off her sunglasses, leaning down, "have you lost your mother?"
An older girl skipped ahead, "Don't mind Claire, your majesty, she's a little crybaby. She wanted a picture with you, but when I sent her alone, she was terrified,"
"And what is your name?"
"Louise," she said as she did a little curtsy
"That was a perfect curtsy! Are you a princess, Louise?"
Louise laughed as a woman approached, alarm and apology on her face as she approached the three of them
"I'm so sorry your majesty these girls slip away-"
"No no, it's alright. I heard they wanted pictures? I'd be happy to..."
The mother smiled gratefully as she rummages through her bag for her phone. She handed it to the security personnel, Yoongi taking it from him
"I'll do it-"
"No your highness we don't want to trouble you-"
"It's no trouble at all," he said with a gummy smile
Yoongi looked around before pointing to a tree, "stand in front of that, please,"
Yoongi took the pictures, the mother bowing gratefully as the girls excitedly waved at Elira and Yoongi.
"So, where's that cafe?" Elira asked with a grin.
The bells tinkled as Yoongi beat Elira and opened the door, a smirk on his face as she shook her head.
The cashier's eyes widened as she took in the guests, Elira gave her a reassuring smile before walking up to the display cases as Yoongi looked around
A pink, orange and yellow tropical wallpaper adorned the high walls, a gold spiral staircase leading up the mezzanine floor. Gold filigree birdcages hung from the ceiling.
He heard laughter around the corner and saw a side door leading behind the front building.
"Yoongi? What would you like?" Elira called out
Scanning the cases Yoongi pointed at the chocolate gateaux.
"I already picked that pick something else"
"We are grown adults I think we can get two of the same thing,"
"Yes but also, why get the same thing when we can try two things??" she said with such earnest that Yoongi couldn't help but laugh, reaching up and poking her nose in amusement
"I-"
"I'll have the black forest pastry with a cappuccino then," he said to the cashier and walked into the courtyard with his hands in his pockets, leaving Elira flustered
"Your majesty?" The cashier asked meekly, shaking Elira out of her senses,
"Yes uh- what he said. Can you serve it at our table please?"
The cashier replied in affirmative as Elira walked out into the airy courtyard
Black and white checkered tiles acted as the flooring as people ate and chatted seated on the tables along the sidewalls on a raised platform. The centre of the courtyard had a giant camellia tree, laden with blossoms, plenty of space around it covered with fallen petals. Soft music played as a gentle breeze swirled in the aroma of coffee and vanilla.
"Shall we?" Yoongi said as he grabbed Elira's hand, leading her to one of the tables he had spotted, a discreet location with bookshelves nearby
The server arrived as Yoongi pulled the chair for Elira, "Why is there space in the centre? Tables under the tree sound absolutely lovely" she asked as she sat down
"Ah, that.. you'll see why in a while, your majesty," he said with a mischievous smile before withdrawing with a bow.
"Now now, stop shooting daggers at him," Yoongi said with a chuckle
"Is my face giving it away?"
"You're as obvious as a mirror, you know that."
Elira smiled sheepishly as she sipped on her milkshake.
Elira raised her tiny fork to dig into her cake when she saw the central courtyard light up through the corner of her eyes.
She turned around to see the lights had been switched on. Warm white LEDs dangled from the tree and to the roof of the courtyard, the tables illuminated by their own warm yellow lamps.
Soft waltzes started playing as the sky slowly got darker, people getting up from their seats and moving to the courtyard, awkwardly trying their hands at dancing.
Elira heard the screech of a chair as Yoongi got up and stood in front of her, "Shall we?"
"Uh- No no no we're not doing this-"
"Why not?"
"Yoongi we cannot we are not ordinary people, the implications of this-"
"Ah shut up now. Just take my hand, I'm getting tired-"
Elira looked into his eyes as they sparkled in the lights, crinkling as he smiled and waved his hand
Elira sighed as she took his hand, only to be pulled up by him, her eyes wide as she held onto him for support, making him laugh.
He slid a hand around her waist, raising goosebumps on her skin as he led her under the tree.
He guided her hands to rest on his shoulders, and as if on queue, the music changed, from a soft waltz to something more unfamiliar
Elira looked at him in confusion as Yoongi had a knowing smile plastered on his face.
"Never heard that one before in all the balls and functions ever-"
"I don't doubt that at all," Yoongi said as he slowly twirled her, trying to hide the growing smile on his face,"
Elira raised an eyebrow as he just shrugged his shoulders. She stared at him for a couple of beats before looking down at their feet.
"Hey?"
Elira raised her head but she didn't meet his eyes, prompting Yoongi to tease her more,
"Are you by any chance, flustered-" he asked, his voice a low whisper
Elira shook her head as Yoongi took notice of the very prominent blush on her cheeks.
"So that's what it takes huh? To mess with unbreakable Elira,"
Elira met his eyes, holding back a smile as she said
"Shut up"

A/N:
I went through Lueur the other day and I realised I wrote that Yoongi would be staying over for a month but looking back I don't know what I was thinking, so just be warned that I changed that a while back when I was editing the book and now he's just staying for 2 weeks (they've been hella eventful so far,,, lol) *this is what happens when you're writing as you're posting I guess, things change to align better with everything.
Lueur will update pretty randomly I guess. I'll try to keep it to the one chapter per Friday rule, but I might miss some days so bear with me. College might start soon and I wanna finish some other things before it does just so I don't regret it later.
How have y'all been? I hope your days have been filled with the warmest of sunshine<3 Take care! Stay safe!
