Medieval Madness
Chapter 2: Medieval Madness
"Are you sure about this, Lucy?" Snape asked for what felt like the one hundredth time to poor Lucy.
"Dad," Lucy sighed giving him a hug. "I'm not eleven any more, I'm fifteen."
"You're still the little girl I met as an orphan, who barely knew who she was." Snape replied softly rubbing her back. "It's a shame teenagers don't want to hang out with their parents any more?"
"Parents?" Lucy blinked away the tears that were forming in her eyes. "P-Plural?" She squeaked and pulled away from Snape, he looked at her apologetically.
"Forgive me."
"Don't worry...I won't stay long at Harry's, it's not often I catch up with someone in the summer. Shona only came over for five minuets yesterday, quite literally."
"I know, I shouldn't be over protective but I do worry about you. Considering only at the end of your fourth year you fought Lord Zuc on your own." He kissed her on the forehead and then he took her hand and apparated to Privet Drive.
When Lucy arrived she looked around at the well kept area and tried to remember what Harry's house number was whilst looking through the mist. She squinted and tried to figure out where she should go.
"Dad, do you know where - " Lucy spun around but Snape was no where in sight. "Hope, no one saw me talking to myself," she muttered with a little laugh then decided she really was mental.
She walked along the street of Privet drive to try and find a house that could possibly resemble Harry's personality, but somehow she thought that his evil Aunt and Uncle wouldn't allow any of his input in the house's decor because he was a wizard and was immediately counted as an outcast.
"Hey, Lucy."
A friendly voice said to her through the mist, it was almost like an echo through the mist but when Lucy turned around she saw Harry waving at her and she felt relieved that she wouldn't have to stand in the street looking like a complete idiot.
"Hello, Harry," she smiled, taking his side as Harry walked to a little house that must be his Aunt and Uncle's. "Glad to find you out here in the mist."
"I'm glad too, I forgot to tell you in the letter what number I live at. I should have put it down but I'm very lucky that I actually even got to send you a letter considering Hedwig's normally locked up in her cage under Uncle Vernon's rules."
"At least I can gladly say that even my dad isn't that bad, even if he can be miserable," Lucy giggled and they both slightly as they approached the house, Harry pushed down on the door handle and to Lucy's surprise the door opened without him going through the trouble of getting out keys.
The interior of the Dursley's house was well kept and was scattered with a few photogrpah's of the family (Vernon, Petunia and Dudley) as well as just photographs of Dudley whom was Vernon and Petunia's pride and joy.
"Home sweet home," Lucy snorted.
"You wish," Harry sighed and walked into the living room where the whole Dursley family happened to be sitting comfortably and watching the TV that sat in the corner, it blared music from a television program that must be something regarding Dudley's interest.
"Ah, boy you're - " Vernon began then un-glued his eyes from the screen and almost fell over at the sight of Lucy. "Who on earth is that?!" He raged standing up and approaching Lucy who didn't react in the slightest, she didn't think that Harry's overweight Uncle was going to scare her since she'd faced one of the biggest threats to the wizarding world who was out to kill her.
"Lucy," she replied simply, wearing a vacant look that resembled her fathers in a great way. She then held out her hand but Vernon didn't react.
"Are you a friend of Potter's?" Vernon narrowed his eyes.
"Oh yes, I'm a friend. In fact we're a little closer than friends."
"Is this your girlfriend, Potter?" Dudley cackled.
"No, you stupid boy, I'm his half-sister!" Lucy hissed and Dudley shrunk back in his seat but for once Petunia didn't do anything but stare open mouthed at the girl who claimed she was her niece.
"W-Who's your father?" Petunia stood up and shoved Vernon out the way so she could approach the girl.
"Severus Snape, heard of him?" Lucy asked curiously.
"Strange boy..." Petunia muttered. "Your mother?" She continued.
"Lily Evans, your sister." She replied smugly and Petunia's jaw almost hit the ground at Lucy's answer, she'd gone all pale and looked like she was going to throw a tantrum. "No, don't worry I live with my dad you're not taking me in."
"He's still alive?" Petunia questioned.
"Of course! He teaches potions at Hogwarts, the school that I and Harry go to."
There was an awkward silence before Vernon cleared his throat. "Well, it was nice meeting you."
"You too, come on Harry, lets go to the park and leave these good people in peace." Lucy said dragging Harry out of the door before he could protest.
* * *
"That went well!" Lucy grinned as stood on a swing while Harry sat down on the other swing and even though he still looked nervous looked amused at the same time.
"Well, excluding the fact that our Aunt almost had a heart attack." Harry winked.
"What was she saying about dad anyway?"
"She called him strange, don't take it to heart she really didn't want to socialise with mum after she found out she was a witch."
"I wonder how they know each other though? Dad never mentions her." Lucy wondered then grinned. "Shona would probably say that he dated her, even though that's completely unlikely."
"Trust Shona."
"You can say that again..."
Lucy finally sat down on the swing as Harry pulled out a muggle newspaper and began reading the contents of it while Lucy watched the sky cloud over and the mist slowly evaporate as though it was being sucked into nothingness and as it was disappearing a group of figures emerged.
"We have company," Harry whispered glancing up quickly before continuing to read his newspaper.
"For our sakes I hope it's not Marcus..." Lucy shuddered.
"Who - ?" Harry began but before Lucy could answer Dudley and his gang approached the two, he looked threatening but Lucy knew that Harry would know how to get rid of them.
"Alright freak and freakier?" Dudley taunted. "What you doing out here together? Arranging your wedding?"
"Shut up, Dudley," Harry spat but Lucy stood up and approached the boy.
"Say it again," she hissed pulling out her wand and aiming it at Dudley's face. "I know every unforgivable curse and how to perform them - " Lucy began but Harry pulled her away.
"He's not worth it, Lucy," Harry sighed and she shoved her wand back in her pocket before giving Dudley one last evil glare.
"Did you know that Harry talks in his sleep?" Dudley said to his friends. "'Don't kill Cedric!' Who's Cedric, Potter, your boyfriend?"
"THAT'S IT!" Lucy yelled and launched herself at Dudley but he dived out of the way leaving Lucy to stumble but luckily she caught herself just in time.
"Don't you dare say anything about Cedric," she whispered, her voice dangerously low and threatening just as the clouds completely rolled over while Harry held his wand out at Dudely.
"W-What are you doing?" Dudley asked, this time he was really scared the fear in his eyes told Lucy that he really was scared of magic.
"I'm not doing anything!" Harry yelled, then he pulled his wand away as all of Dudley's friends fleed the area leaving Lucy, Harry and Dudley to stand there before running as fast as they could, through the field track and into a tunnel under the bridge.
"Thank god for that..." Lucy panted, but she spoke too soon, the air suddenly went cold. Harry and Lucy looked at each other as Dudley was totally oblivious about what was going to happen. Two dementors swarmed in from either side of the tunnel and Lucy felt herself going faint.
"We're going to kill you, Lucy Snape," Zuc's voice rattled through her head menacingly and she knew that if she didn't get out of their quick she was going to be haunted by Zuc for nights.
"LUCY, GO!" Harry yelled as Dudely was approached by a dementor that he couldn't even see. Lucy didn't need to be told twice, she ran out of the tunnel and back towards the field, she kept running until she tripped on a rock that she couldn't see through the waist length crops.
"Damn," she muttered and picked herself up, ignoring the scratch that started bleeding on her face. I must not use magic, I must not use magic, Lucy thought as she wanted to repair her broken nose and when she got up a few meters away she saw a silhouette.
She squinted through the now darkness and tried to make out what it was. It wasn't exactly clear what it was, for all Lucy knew it could be some random man stalking her.
"Hello?" She called out into the darkness, still looking at the figure. It didn't do anything at first but then it started walking slowly towards her and she heard metal clanking together, she kept looking out into the darkness and wondered if she needed her eyes tested when the thing came into her range of clear vision on this dark night.
Lucy smiled. "This is no time for fun and games, I know your one of Dudley's friends." The thing in armour didn't reply. "Seriously, this isn't funny!" Lucy snapped and approached the thing in armour and placed her hand over the visor on it's helmet and tried to lift it up but it was as though the thing was super glued there and after a while of tugging Lucy gave up.
"Wow, you're pretty good and Hallowe'en costumes, can you make me one?" Lucy giggled nervously and the next thing she knew she was slammed on the ground, she squealed and breathed heavily and stared at the thing when she realised something.
This was a knight from the medevial islands.
But weren't knights banished from the wizarding world, didn't Merlin make sure of that? Lucy racked her brain for possibilities how this knight made it over to the wizarding world but before she could think out a logical explanation, the knight grabbed hold of her top and pulled her up with an iron grip.
She stared at the thing's helmet, hoping that beneath it held a face but she had a terrible feeling that this was just a walking piece of armour. She cringed as the knight got out a sword and swung it at her, she ducked and remembered her experience with Lord Zuc and remembered all the techniques she had to use in order to survive.
"Perfect, just perfect," Lucy thought and before she knew what she was doing threw herself on the ground as the knight once again swung the sword threateningly at her, she yelled out and kicked it's leg but it didn't have any impact towards it. Lucy then thought that the knight must be protected from silly little attacks like that, Zuc must have figured all this since their little encounter.
Lucy looked up and held her breath as the knight put a foot on her chest and gripped his sword in two hands and held it above his head as though about to slay a dragon that had been destroying his town and would be known as a champion when he returned home.
"No, please no!" Lucy cried out, she sounded like her own self but there was nothing she could do about it, she didn't know much self defense. All she knew was...
"Stupefy!" She screamed without warning and the thing flew back with it's sword, Lucy looked at her right hand and saw a wand, her wand. What had she done?
She picked herself up and approached the knight, it looked defeated enough not only by the spell but the impact and the shock, she left it there and didn't even bother to take it's sword and just trekked back to the road where her dad had dropped her off and to her surprise he was there waiting, she hid her cut with her hand and looked at him innocently.
"What's wrong with you?" Snape asked as she walked closer to him and shoved her wand in her pocket without Snape noticing.
"Toothache?" She said hopefully, and luckily for her, he believed her.
"Lets get you home then, I'll fix it for - " Snape began to take her hand away from her face but she yelped then held out her free hand.
"I'm sorry, it's that painful," she lied and Snape nodded understandably as he took her free hand and apparated.
