Lucy stepped back as the man was ushered out of the room quickly.
"Ralph is...very taken with you.." Wyatt said, motioning for the guards to take him away as he was apologizing profusely, "He had a little too much spirits..."
"This morning?" Lucy asked the others settled in, "That seems unprofessional."
"Quite," Colt said, "He's fired."
"Oh, no..." Lucy gasped as she looked to the door where Ralph had been escorted through, "Maybe he was just excited about today?"
Holden smiled, "He is.."
"I know this isn't my place, but couldn't you talk to him and see what was wrong?" Lucy asked, "And why did he call me queen?"
"He's..from.." Colt shrugged, "He's..."
Lucy scowled, "Why do I have a feeling this is yet another secret being kept from me?"
She lowered her gaze from him and sighed, "I don't think I want to work for a company,-"
"He's one of our employees" Wyatt told her, speaking of the fallen angel, "He is..unwell."
"Unwell?"
"He's...got some screws loose," Holden said, "He's a great accountant for us, though."
"Oh," Lucy said, not too certain if she believed the trio or not, "Poor man."
Wyatt nodded for another guard to check on the goings-on with Ralph who wasn't at all like that typically. For all they knew, he could have been the fallen angel who tapped on Lucy's door the night before.
"Maybe we should help him?"
The others looked at Lucy with curiosity and awe—something she wasn't sure of at all.
"Maybe we should.." Wyatt stood up, "Gentlemen, if you'll excuse us. Miss Winters and I will be gone for a short while. Brothers, please begin the meeting."
Lucy frowned, "Should I,-"
"They'll just be going over the agenda from last week, Miss Winters," Wyatt said, escorting her out into the hall, "Here...see? He's alright."
Looking up at her, Ralph sighed heavily as if all of his troubles had been completely washed away.
"Hi," she said, "I'm Lucy."
Extending her hand, Ralph trembled as he looked to Wyatt for approval and then back at Lucy before shaking the young woman's hand.
"It is such an honor to meet you, Miss Winters.."
"It is my pleasure, Ralph," Lucy said, "What...what seems to be,-"
"I figured you for someone else," he shook his head, "I am sorry—sometimes I need sleep and sometimes I need,-"
"My mother saw angels.."
Wyatt stepped closer as did a few of the guards.
"She didn't tell me about them, but I heard her talking in her sleep to angels all of the time, especially after my father died," Lucy admitted, "I always thought she was...touched, if you will, but she never showed an ounce of difference in any other capacity of her life. Do you see angels, Ralph?"
Ralph smiled, "I do..."
"Is that why you think you're unwell?" Lucy asked, "Or maybe others think so?"
"I've been waiting on someone to help me for years," he admitted, not looking in Wyatt's direction, "My apologies for interrupting the meeting and scaring you."
Lucy smiled, "Trust me—I've been scared so many times in my life that this was just a little surprise, but you'll be OK. I'm sure the Delgotto's will get you the help you need?"
She looked up at Wyatt who was nodding. The only help Ralph needed was a good exorcism.
"Thank you," he said, "I...I guess I embarrassed myself."
"I always embarrass myself," Lucy smiled, "Wyatt, can we get a doctor to look at Ralph this morning?"
"Already on it," a guard said as he rushed off with the nod from his boss.
"Good," Lucy said, taking Ralph's hand in hers, "We'll all get better soon."
She eyed Wyatt curiously because this wasn't some random outburst.
Lucy had to do some sleuthing to figure out what the hell was going on.
