Thanks for following, reading, and chatting with me. ❤️ I also really like your stories.

Lucy's POV

I wake up to the bright sun streaming through my curtains onto my desk. As I sit up, a pain shoots through my neck and I realize that I fell asleep doing homework last night.

Yes, I am one of those girls that does homework on a Friday night.

"Ooooh maaaan." I groan as I walk over and flop down onto my bed. I just want to go back to sleep comfortably. No sooner than I get comfortable and close my eyes, my alarm clock goes off.

I throw the sheets off as I get out of bed. "Really?" I mutter as I stumble across the room to end its eardrum-piercing ring.

I sit back down at my desk for it is already to late to go back to sleep. I pick up my phone and plug it in only to realize that today is Saturday.

Today is the day I am supposed to go see the boys practice.

I check to see if I have any new messages, only to see a few from Luke.

Luke O>: Good morning Lucy. "Practice" today is around 1 pm. Hope 2 see u there :-)

(Funny story... I chose 1 pm because I was listening to ONE OK ROCK at that time lol)

Luke O>: But u don't have 2 come if you don't want 2

I smile. I'm glad he actually took the time to text me this morning.

Lucy: Hi Luke. I'll be there. good morning to u too

I set my phone down after seeing what time it was and open up my curtains to let the rest of the morning light come through. I head over to my closet and choose what I am going to wear. As I pull out my clothes, I see my precious camera sitting on the top shelf. I hadn't used it since I moved here. I gingerly pull it down and turn it on as I collapse on my bed. I flick through all the old pictures I have on the memory card. I smile at the pictures from Christmas two years ago, the day I got this camera, and the day that my love of photography really began to grow. There were tons of pictures of random things, both some of importance and some that I forgot the reason I took them. Pictures of Iyana and I were sprinkled throughout the mass collection. I sigh and look out my window once again at the beautiful sun. Perhaps I should take some pictures today I think as I look back down at my camera.

I shut off my camera, take out the memory card, and begin transferring the photos onto my computer to ensure that I would have enough space for the pictures I was to take today. I complete my morning routine just as all the pictures finish loading onto my computer, grab my phone, wallet, camera, and sweater, and head down the stairs.

"Hey mom. I was thinking about going out to snap some new shots around the neighborhood and then going over to Luke's house to go watch them practice. I'd probably be back around 5. Is that ok?" I ask as I grab a piece of chocolate and a slice of toast.

"Sure honey. You know the routine. Is Luke one of the boys you have been sitting with at lunch?"

"Yes." I say as I write down where I will being going. My parents almost always wanted to know where I was going, but I didn't mind - it kinda showed that they cared. As I grew older, my parents and I had developed a simple routine for whenever I was going out somewhere without them and of course it was all based on trust and that kind of stuff. At the time, I was mostly just going to Iyana's house, but I would write down where we were planning on going if we weren't just hanging out there.

I sigh as I handed my mom the paper. I missed Iyana.

"Bye!" I yell as I close the door and step out onto the sidewalk. I spot a flower near my front yard, take a picture, and let my creativity take me from there. I am glad I had a few hours to wonder around.

(Below is kinda like the picture Lucy took... I took it one day at school with my phone so that is why the quality is not the best... But it is what I visualized when she took the picture.)

I swing on the swings at the small mini park and remember when I first came here and was telling Iyana about the boys. I look down at my watch only to realize that it was 12:30. I clutch onto my camera as I jump off the swings and begin heading to Luke's house.

I walk up the little pathway to the front door of the address that he gave me and ring the door bell. The door almost immediately swings open to reveal a boy that looked similar to an older version of Luke without a lip piercing.

I stutter, "Oh... Hello.... Um... Is Luke here?"

"Hello" he smiles, "I'm Jack, Luke's brother. You must be Lucy?"

"Yes, yes I am."

He ushers me inside, "Yes. He is in his room up the stairs and the first door on the right. He's probably playing his guitar again."

"Oh, thank you." I say as I begin climbing the stairs.

I knock on Luke's door only to get no response. I knock again, a little harder, with no result. I stand at the door debating if I should just go in. I don't want to interrupt anything.

I slowly twist the knob, crack the door open, and peek inside. I see Luke, with his eyes closed, leaning against his bed with music blaring from his earbuds. I instantly recognize the song as Blink-182's I Miss You. No wonder he didn't answer the door, I thought, he probably couldn't even hear.

I step inside, sit right down in front of him, and begin quietly singing along. He looks so at ease. Soon he begins to sing along too. I am captured by his voice as it goes smoothly with the melody. The song is over too soon, and I find myself really wanting to hear him sing more. I have never met a person with such a fabulous, breathtaking voice.

His eyes snap open and he yanks his earbuds out as I applaude his performance.

"Oh" he smiled, "I didn't even know you were here."

"You should really turn down your music before you ruin your ears, but I Miss You is one of my favorite songs. You sing it so well." I replied.

"I'm not that good." he said with a light blush, getting to his feet.

I stand up with a raised eyebrow, "I highly doubt that. Anyways, I'm coming to your band practice, so you can't lie to me now."

"I could just not take you there." he said as he grabbed his ripped jean jacket.

I try to act as if I what he just said shocked me while trying to hide my worry. Would he do that?

"Don't worry. I wouldn't do that. " he laughed, apparently seeing right through my fake shocked face.

I follow him down the stairs and wave goodbye to Jack as we head out the door. I struggle to keep his pace, even though he isn't that much taller than me.

"Aye, slow down. It's such a beautiful day. Why are you in a hurry?" I say as I come to a stop.

It takes a few paces for Luke to realize that I have stopped walking before he turns back to look at me.

"Yes, it is nice, but we are already late with a lot to do." he says as begins walking again.

I jog to catch up with him before asking, "Where are we going anyways?"

"You'll see. You better not tell anyone though. You are the first person we've ever brought there and the first person that has ever seen us play."

After a few more minutes of walking, he leads me on a dirt path between two old abandoned houses. One has chipping red paint and the other is so faded it almost looks white. He keeps walking toward what appears to be a wall of green ivy without showing any sign of stopping. I turn to glance back at the houses one more time, yet when I look back, Luke is gone.
