Chapter 28:Broken Hearts
As the weight of Shubman's father's loss hung heavy on his shoulders, Ishan's cutting words pierced through the haze of grief, doubling the pain that already consumed him. Dumbfounded, Shubman found himself standing outside Ishan's house, his heart heavy with the weight of Ishan's accusations.
"Ishan, what do you mean?" Shubman's voice trembled with uncertainty as he confronted Ishan, his eyes searching for some semblance of understanding in Ishan's gaze.
Shubman stood before Ishan, his heart heavy with guilt and remorse, Ishan's words cut through the silence like a knife. "Why did you do this to me, Shubman?" His voice was laced with hurt, each syllable dripping with pain. "I didn't hurt you. Why did you take two of the biggest things from me, my first love and my family? I didn't even know you."
Shubman's head hung low, the weight of Ishan's accusations crushing him with their truth. "I was a big idiot to think everything could be gotten with force," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "And an even bigger idiot to think that if I told your family, they would break your relationship with Abhishek. I didn't know they would disown you. I've regretted that blind decision my whole life, Ishu. I'm sorry."
But Ishan remained cold and composed, his gaze distant and detached. "You don't get to say 'ishu' to me anymore," he said icily, his tone final and unforgiving.
Shubman felt a lump form in his throat, tears threatening to spill from his eyes once more. He could feel Ishan's contempt, his detestation for Shubman evident in every word and gesture. "I understand," he managed to choke out, his voice thick with emotion. "I don't deserve your forgiveness, Ishan, but I am truly sorry."
The silence between them stretched on, heavy and oppressive, each passing moment filled with unspoken regret and longing. "I just wanted to make things right," Shubman whispered, his words barely audible. "But I've only made them worse."
As Shubman reached out to touch Ishan, hoping for some form of comfort or connection, Ishan recoiled, his eyes flashing with anger and betrayal. "Don't touch me," he spat, his voice dripping with disdain. "I feel detested by your touch now."
Shubman's heart sank at Ishan's rejection, the weight of his own actions crashing down on him with a force he could hardly bear. "Ishan, please," he pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation. "I never meant to hurt you. I was blinded by my own selfishness, but I swear, I'll do anything to make it right."
But Ishan's anger only seemed to grow, his emotions swirling in a tumultuous storm of rage, sadness, and betrayal. "You took everything from me, Shubman," he seethed, his voice trembling with fury. "My first love, my family... you tore my world apart without a second thought."
Shubman felt tears pricking at the corners of his eyes as he listened to Ishan's words, each one a painful reminder of the pain he had caused. "I know," he whispered hoarsely, his voice choked with emotion. "I was a fool, Ishan. A fool to think that I could ever make things right."
"Make things right!?Say,Make things in your way,Shubman"Ishan's eyes bore into Shubman's, his gaze burning with a fierce intensity. "You don't get to beg for forgiveness," he said coldly, his voice like ice. "You made your choice, Shubman. And now, you have to live with the consequences."
With a heavy heart, Shubman sank to his knees before Ishan, the weight of his remorse almost too much to bear. "I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own sobs. "Please, Ishan, don't leave me. I can't bear to lose you too."
As Shubman knelt before Ishan, his heart heavy with regret and remorse, he felt the weight of his past mistakes bearing down on him like a crushing burden. "After what I have done," he began, his voice quavering with emotion, "I spent my life trying to forget you. I never reached out to you, but I used to wake up with thoughts of you, and sleep thinking of you. Until fate, or perhaps God, tried to set us up again."
Tears streamed down Shubman's cheeks as he poured out his heart to Ishan, his words a desperate plea for forgiveness and redemption. "Ishan, please," he begged, his voice cracking with emotion. "Give me one more chance. Don't make me face this world all alone. Without you, I will be shattered."
Ishan looked down at Shubman, his expression unreadable as he considered Shubman's words. The pain of betrayal still etched deep within his heart, but there was also a glimmer of something softer, something that yearned for reconciliation and healing.
For a moment, the silence between them seemed to stretch on forever, each passing second filled with the weight of their shared history and the uncertainty of their future. And then, finally, Ishan spoke, his voice soft and filled with resignation.
"I don't know if I can ever forgive you, Shubman,"he said quietly, his words heavy with the weight of their shared pain. "But I also can't deny that a part of me still cares for you, despite everything."
Shubman's heart skipped a beat at Ishan's admission, a spark of hope flickering to life within him. "I'll do anything, Ishan," he vowed, his voice filled with determination. "I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you, if you'll just give me the chance."
With a hesitant voice, Ishan finally spoke, his words weighed down by the turmoil in his heart. "I will try to forgive you, Shubman," he said softly, his tone filled with uncertainty. "But after everything that has happened, I can't be with you."
Shubman's heart shattered at Ishan's words, the finality of his rejection sinking in like a heavy blow. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he begged and pleaded with Ishan, his voice choked with desperation. "Please, Ishan," he pleaded, his voice raw with emotion. "I can't live without you. I'll do anything to make things right, I swear."
But Ishan remained resolute, his resolve unyielding even in the face of Shubman's anguish. "I'm sorry, Shubman," he said gently, his voice tinged with sadness. "But I can't ignore what you've done. We can't go back to how things were."
Shubman's heart ached at Ishan's words, the reality of his loss crashing down on him with a force he could hardly bear. He reached out to Ishan, his hand trembling with longing, but Ishan stepped back, his gaze unwavering.
"I won't be with you, Shubman," Ishan said firmly, his voice steady despite the pain in his eyes. "Not now, not ever."
And with those words, Shubman's world crumbled around him, the weight of his regret and remorse threatening to engulf him entirely. He watched helplessly as Ishan turned to walked away.
Shubman reached out, his hand trembling as he gently grasped Ishan's, his eyes pleading for a glimmer of hope. "Look at my eyes, Ishan," he whispered, his voice filled with desperation. "Say it to me. Say you don't love me. Say you don't want me."
Ishan's eyes trembled as they met Shubman's gaze, torn between the love he still felt and the pain of betrayal. The man he loved the most, the one he wanted more than anything, now had to leave him. The realization cut deep, a painful reminder of the fractured trust between them.
But even as Ishan's heart ached with the weight of his decision, the urge to wipe away Shubman's tears threatened to overwhelm him. His hand twitched with the desire to offer comfort, to ease the anguish etched into Shubman's features.
For a fleeting moment, Ishan's resolve wavered, the walls around his heart crumbling in the face of Shubman's vulnerability.
"Don't touch my Ishan, Shubman."
Startled, Shubman turned around to see the owner of the voice.
It was Abhishek.
Why he is back!
And why he is staying at Ishan's place!
