Chapter 25:Unforseen Life
"Ishan, we need to talk," Abhishek began, his voice tinged with nervousness.
Ishan looked up, concern evident in his eyes. "Yes?" he replied, his tone gentle.
"I know I've said you can stay as long as you want in my house, but my mother is having some guests over," Abhishek explained, trying to keep his voice steady. "Can you stay with Uday for a few days?"
Ishan nodded understandingly. "Yeah, sure. No problem. I'm actually looking for some accommodation anyway."
Abhishek let out a nervous laugh, trying to mask his inner turmoil. "No worries, mate," he said, his voice slightly strained.
"Mate? Not 'baby' or 'sweetheart'? Abhi, are you okay?" Ishan asked, his concern growing.
Abhishek forced a smile. "Yeah, just tired. See you in the morning then. Goodnight."
Little did Ishan know, his life was about to take a tumultuous turn the next day.
The following morning, Ishan packed his belongings and moved in with Uday, while Abhishek and his father finalized the arrangements for Abhishek's future in Canada. They accepted Shubman's father's offer of a business opportunity, and Shubman's father wasted no time in arranging an early visa and sorting out all the necessary documents.
Meanwhile, Shubman remained holed up in his room, drowning in guilt over his actions towards Abhishek. Concerned for his son, Shubman's father paid him a visit, hoping to offer some words of comfort and guidance.
"Shubman,Can we talk," Shubman's father said gently as he entered his son's room.
Shubman looked up, his eyes red-rimmed from crying. "What is it, Dad?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
Shubman's father sat down beside him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I heard about what happened with Abhishek," he began, his tone sympathetic. "I want you to know that I'm here for you, son. I understand you're going through a difficult time."
Tears welled up in Shubman's eyes as he listened to his father's words. "I... I didn't mean for any of this to happen,I don't what took over me." he confessed, his voice breaking.
His father nodded understandingly. "I know, Shubman. But you can't let this consume you. You have to learn from your mistakes and move forward."
Shubman wiped away his tears, his mind swirling with conflicting emotions. "I don't know if I can," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
His father placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "You're stronger than you think, Shubman. And I believe in you. Now, I have an idea that might help lift your spirit."
Shubman looked up, curiosity piqued. "What is it, Dad?"
His father smiled. "There's a tryout for the national cricket team coming up. I think you should go for it."
Shubman's eyes widened in surprise. "But... I haven't played cricket from academy.," he protested.
His father shook his head. "That doesn't matter. If you do well enough, you will get selected. What matters is that you follow your passion and don't let fear hold you back. This could be a chance for you to rediscover yourself and start anew."
"Now, I have something else to tell you," he continued. "I had a meeting with Abhishek and his father today. They've accepted our proposal for the business opportunity in Canada."
Shubman's eyes widened in shock. "They accepted?" he repeated, disbelief coloring his voice.
His father nodded. "Yes. And I've already started arranging everything. Abhishek and his father will be leaving soon."
As the reality of the situation sank in, Shubman felt a wave of guilt wash over him. "I've made Ishan all alone," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion.
His father squeezed his shoulder gently. "I know, Shubman. But you can't change the past. All you can do now is learn from it and try to make amends."
Shubman nodded, his resolve strengthening. "I will, Dad," he vowed, his voice filled with determination. "I'll do whatever it takes to make things right."
As the days passed, Shubman found himself consumed by a newfound sense of purpose. With his father's encouragement ringing in his ears, he threw himself into the tryouts for the national cricket team. To everyone's surprise, Shubman's skills shone brightly on the field, and he soon found himself selected for the team.
Meanwhile, as Shubman basked in the glow of his success, Ishan's heart grew heavy with worry. Despite his best efforts, he hadn't seen or heard from Abhishek since he moved in with Uday. Ishan tried to contact him numerous times, but each attempt was met with silence.
One day, unable to shake the feeling of unease gnawing at his insides, Ishan made the decision to visit Abhishek's house. As he approached the familiar doorstep, his heart pounded in his chest. But to his dismay, the house stood empty and locked up, with no sign of life inside.
Determined to uncover the truth, Ishan approached a neighbor, hoping for some answers. "Excuse me," he began tentatively, "do you know what happened to the family that used to live here?"
The neighbor glanced at Ishan with a sympathetic expression. "Oh, you mean the family with the son who played cricket?" they replied. "Yes, they moved to Canada for good. Packed up and left quite suddenly, actually."
Ishan's heart sank at the news, a knot forming in his stomach. The realization that Abhishek had left without a word hit him like a punch to the gut. "Thank you," he murmured, his voice barely audible.
As he walked away from the empty house, Ishan couldn't help but feel a pang of loss deep within his soul. The absence of Abhishek left a gaping hole in his heart, and the unanswered questions lingered in his mind like a haunting melody. But amidst the uncertainty, one thing remained clear: Ishan was determined to find closure, no matter where the journey took him.
As Shubman learned of Abhishek's departure, a heavy wave of guilt washed over him. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had played a part in detaching Ishan from his family, knowing the turmoil it had caused. Despite his own struggles, Shubman was determined to make amends and ease Ishan's burden.
With his father's connections and influence, Shubman arranged for Ishan to receive a scholarship at a renowned engineering university in Mumbai. It was the least he could do to help Ishan start afresh and pursue his dreams despite the obstacles in his path.
Meanwhile, Ishan's days were filled with despair as the deadline for his savings approached. He couldn't bear the thought of returning to the family that had disowned him, and the lack of financial resources left him feeling trapped and hopeless.
Then, one fateful morning, a letter arrived out of nowhere, offering Ishan a full free scholarship. The unexpected opportunity seemed like a ray of light in the darkness, lifting Ishan's spirits and giving him renewed hope for the future. With gratitude in his heart, Ishan embraced the chance to start afresh, determined to make the most of this second chance at life.
As years passed, Ishan immersed himself in his studies in Mumbai, determined to make the most of the opportunity that came out of nowhere to him. Despite the time that had passed, Ishan couldn't shake the memories of his past, including his complicated relationship with Abhishek and his family. In all these years they never took an interest in Ishan's life,And Ishan is habituated with this now.
Meanwhile, Shubman threw himself wholeheartedly into his cricket career, finding solace and purpose on the field. He tried to push aside thoughts of Ishan and the guilt that still lingered in the depths of his heart, focusing instead on honing his skills and making a name for himself in the world of cragain.
But fate had other plans in store for them both.
One day, as Shubman stood on the field with bat in hand, his attention was drawn to the screen displaying the live broadcast of the match. And there, to his shock and disbelief, was the face of the one person he never expected to see again.
Ishan Kishan.
And Ishan was cheering for him.
