Chapter 14
This was supposed to be updated 3 weeks ago and in it I was going to tell you I'm going on a 3 week trip out of the country with my youth group and there will be no updates but I forgot to upload it because my wifi was down that day so I just told myself I'll update it later when the wifi is working again on my computer and I didn't...and forgot. I'm so sorry yall. I completely forgot. On the bright side I had a lot of fun! We built houses and we didn't have our phones because they didn't work. But here's the chapter 3 weeks late. And that's the only time I'll be unconnected all summer. But honestly it was so nice to get away and I have over 150 notifications...great. Honestly I have the worst memory. I need to start writing things on my hands. That seems to work.

I wake up the next morning with my thoughts immediately landing on yesterday. And the realization that Annabeth is coming over again today. I'm not sure what time she would be arriving anyways. I pull myself out of bed and trudge into the kitchen to see my mother cooking over the stove. She must be cooking breakfast. I flop myself down on the couch and let out a groan.
"Percy, that's no way to welcome your guest." My mom scolds.
Guest? No one was here. I look up over the couch and there she was. Annabeth was sitting at the bar smiling, clearly uncomfortable. I didn't even see her there when I walked in. Well, I did just wake up two minutes ago.
I can feel my cheeks redden as I make my way over to them. My mom is smiling at us without a care in the world. If only she knew, she would be jumping up and down like a cheerleader or trying to be my therapist. Either way.
"Good morning." I said to the them as I take my seat.
"Good afternoon." Annabeth replies with a giggle.
I look at the clock and it is almost 1:30 pm. I groan and put my head in my hands. "Sorry. I must have slept through my alarm."
"It's fine." She replied softly.
"Well Annabeth told me she was here to help you catch up on your schoolwork, by the way thank you Annabeth, so how about you two go into Percy's room and set up while I finish up your lunch. Sound good?"
I nod. "Thank you mom." Annabeth grabbed her bag and followed me into my room. I started to set up my math homework, which is a lot, because that is what I least understand and have the most homework in. "I thought we should start on math because as you know I suck at that and I'll need-"
"Percy. We can't ignore this."
I look up at her and she has this expression on her face that I cannot read. I normally can tell when something is up but not now. Completely blank. I turn my body towards her. "What is there to talk about, Annabeth?"
"We..."
"I know. But was it important? What happens now? Do we ignore it and go about our normal lives? What Annabeth? What do you want?" I'm basically yelling at her now. And I have no idea why. All this confusion and rage has built up inside me and I have no idea where it came from.
"Why are you yelling at me? What have I done? I kissed you Percy. There, it's been covered. We kissed and I have no idea why you seem so angry."
I took a deep breath and replied. "Me neither. I'm sorry."
"I know. But Percy-"
I'm just gonna say it. What harm could it do? "I like you, alright? More than a friend. I'm finally admitting this to myself."
She stays silent for a few seconds, just staring at me and I'm trying my hardest to read her face. She leans forward and connects our lips once again. This kiss wasn't like last night, this kiss was a lot simpler and a lot shorter. After she pulled away she still kept her face inches from mine. "That should tell you how I feel."
I smiled and this time I kissed her. I kissed her as if my life depended on it. I placed my hands around her waist, pulling her closer to me until there was no space left between us. This kiss was passionate and not at all hesitant.
"Percy, Annabeth! Lunch is ready!"
We jump apart upon hearing my mother's voice. We are both breathing heavenly, desperately trying to catch our breath. I shout, "Be there in a second!" I look at Annabeth and there is a giant smile on her face, as I know that was the same for me. I stand up, "Come on." She follows me into the kitchen where my mom has set up grilled cheese for lunch.
"Thank you, Ms. Jackson." Annabeth said as she took a seat at the bar.
"Annabeth, sweetheart, how many times do I have to ask you to call me Sally?"
Annabeth laughed and simply said, "Sorry."
-
"Cosecant is 1 over Sine. And secant is 1 over cosine"
"How am I supposed to remember that?" I lay my head in my hands, groaning.
"You just do. I'm sorry, Perce. Do more practice problems. You'll get it down."
"My head is pounding."
"Just do one more."
"Fine." I look down at the problem and begin working it out. "X is 87.4 degrees."
Annabeth broke into a grin. "Yes! You got it!"
A sigh escaped my lips. "Finally. Thank you so much."
She gave me that sweet smile I so adored seeing. "No problem, Perce. My dad just texted me saying he needed me home for some reason so I actually have to get going but I wish I could stay."
I stood up to walk her out. "Don't worry it's completely fine. Thank you so much. I'll do these practice problems and Skype you if I need anymore help."
"I don't think you will. You seem to have it down."
I smiled cheekily. "I'll Skype you anyways."
She blushed and leaned forward to give me a peck on the lips. "I'll see you later then. Bye Percy."
"Goodbye Annabeth. Text me when you get home so I know you got home safely."
She was about to close the door behind her. "I will. Thanks." I watched her leave with a cheeky smile etched on my face.
