Chapter 35: Acceptance
Keetan came out.
I already knew that he was gay but I never expected that he would raise his colorful flag for the world to see so early. And considering that this was DEFINITELY a town that reeked with such hate towards those who were homosexuals, it was a great surprise indeed.
The students were as astonished as I was. I was certain that this news would spread all over town. If Keetan wasn't popular then it wouldn't be as much of a big deal; unfortunately, Keetan was the distinguished faith healer– the son of the deceased and unfortunate man murdered by his insane wife.
I was in the principal's office with Keetan's current guardians. Derek and Samantha had the gist of why they were called here as the students wouldn't shut up about it. Samael sat right beside me as he was the origin of the trouble while Keetan was being treated in the clinic.
Principal Dill cleared his throat, fixing his tie to get right to the point. His piercing amber eyes were enough to scare...well...no one. No one was at the edge in the slightest in this room except for him.
"I am sure you are aware why I called you all here today. It is a parents' duty to guide their children to a road of greatness and goodness. It is our responsibility to teach them about morality. Becoming a homosexual is unethical and...abnormal. A man is made for a woman and a woman is made for a man in order to procreate. A man cannot be with another man. It is wrong. It is not what nature intended."
If Samantha and Derek weren't here, the fire alarm would have sounded because of the principal suddenly getting caught in fire from faulty wires.
"So you're saying that the problem here is Keetan being gay?" Derek cleared up.
"Yes," the principal answered. "Since you are the current guardians of Keetan Halo, I would suggest that you guide him better. He is young and confused. The recent incident with his kind and nurturing parents must have led him astray."
I snorted inwardly. Kind and nurturing? The only nurturing they have done for the past years was to fatten their wallets.
Samanth and Derek glared directly at Principal Dill. Looking into their minds I have seen various ways of dispatching a man without getting caught. Samael and I could assist them if either of the two snaps.
"I don't see any problem, Mister Doe," Samantha said. She crossed her slim arms in front of her breasts, looking more fed up as the principal yapped and scowled at them with disappointment.
"Keetan is gay. That is the problem Ma'am. We can't have gays in this town," he pointed out as if it was the most obvious issue at hand.
"Is there a law to back that up or is it just your personal feelings?" Derek added; face was red with seething rage.
The principal was an idiot with steel resolve. "If only Keetan's parents were here this wouldn't have happened. He was such a good boy. It is a shame to see him fall for sodomy."
"Keetan still gets straight A's. He is the nicest boy I have ever met. Ignoring his good deeds just because of his sexuality is plain bigotry. Not all heterosexuals are decent people. To set an example, there is a married principal who calls young female students to his office to get them to do venereal acts in exchange for academic favors."
The principal paled and jolted when my eyes landed on him. "You may know him. Shall I give a name?"
He laughed nervously. He was in the last stage of M-shaped hairloss. He pulled on the neckline of his tight dress shirt in a poor attempt to loosen what cannot be loosened. The buttons were close to popping one by one because the shirt must have shrank from the laundry. Yes, it had nothing to do with his lifestyle.
I went on. I was in a talkative mood today. "Ah! I remembered, the principal had a child at a young age. I'm sure the baby he tossed in the alleyway of L.A. is watching from heaven. If she was, do you have any words for her, Principal Dill? I'm sure you didn't mean it though, you were a child raised in a household that condemned homosexuals. You can do no harm and no wrong, right?"
Dill was petrified. Samantha and Derek gawked at the man and at me. He must be thinking: "How could anyone know?"
Samael snorted as he played on his phone. "Damn, it would have been easier if you had worn a condom, ya know?"
He slammed his chubby hands on the table. "I–I don't know what you're saying! I could sue you for defamation!!!"
"You are a disgusting man!" Samantha snarled. "And you have the audacity to judge Keetan!"
"I think this conversation is over. We don't have a problem with Keetan being gay. He can love whoever he wants to love and we will support him," Derek stated with such indignation as he stood. The couple walked out of the room. Samael remained on his chair as the principal stared at the table as if his whole career was doomed.
"Let's go," I told him.
"You go, Thomas asked me a favor to do something," he replied. I raised a brow at him. He snapped his fingers in front of the principal's face, borrowing his attention for a minute. "Hey baldy! I'm selling dildos for my future and since your head is brighter than my future, you should totally buy from me. I'll give your uncircumcised dick a discount."
Trust Thomas to have a business partnership with this idiot.
I released a sigh, leaving Samael to torture the man. I didn't have the energy to teach a class without Keetan in it. Maybe I should create a sinkhole for fun in a test of survival. Fail and they die. Pass and they live and get to graduate.
Walking past two classrooms, Principal Doe screamed, kicking the reaper out of his office. Samael chortled like a fool, knocking against the door like a desperate girl scout.
"And here I thought you cared!" he whined.
Samantha and Derek sat beside Keetan's unconscious form. I cleared my throat, grabbing both of their attention.
"I apologize on behalf of my superior. It is saddening how narrow-minded he is. I've only recently found out about his affairs with students. Police are on their way here."
Derek chuckled, appearing relieved. "We are really thankful that Keetan has you, Mister Hellion."
"He has grown strong with your aid," Samantha praised.
I sat at the edge of the bed, staring at Keetan's features.
"I'm always here for him. It's not because I treat the boy as a son but...I just..." I don't know how to put it in words without giving these people a heart attack. All I knew was how to put my dick in Keetan.
"You love him don't you?" Derek completed the sentence. He had a frown. Samantha's expression was that of bewilderment and worry.
I smiled. "You noticed?".
"It wouldn't take a genius to figure it out, boss," he replied. "Although Samantha here still thinks that you treat him as a son."
Samantha stood up in shock; the chair fell down. "You...You love Keetan more than that?"
I nodded. "It is unethical."
Why the fuck was I nervous. It felt as if I was a teenage boy asking approval from my lover's parents. I need to be confident. Not only was I Satan but I was a daddy to my sugar baby.
I was having too much fun with this.
"We can tell that you are sincere. You are a successful man in your late 20's but..." In the midst of Samantha's talking, Derek cut her off.
"There is only a few more months before Keetan graduates from high school. Boss, if you truly love him, you'll wait for him."
I didn't let a minute go without answering. "I will wait for him. I want him to have a good future. He deserves the best."
Samantha settled down. Derek stood her chair for her. "Hurt him and there will be hell to pay," she threatened.
"I think I can pay for that charge."
I surely could.
The three of us chatted for a while before they left Keetan in my capable hands. The nurse was out for the day so I was Keetan's personal nurse. I felt a presence in the room which I brushed off initially, but the stare that the being gave us gradually annoyed me.
Yes, there was a spirit here and it was vengeful and hateful. It may not know that I was no one to mess with because of the magic veil I covered myself with. I could not have demonologists or exorcists chasing my ass while I chased Keetan's.
I sauntered to the corner of the room where I felt the presence at. My eyes gleamed red, finally seeing clearly who our visitor was. He was a student. I saw him alive earlier when I went ahead of Keetan and Samael. He was laughing with his peers before his phone buzzed. He went inside of the building with a thrilled grin.
He was naked. His face was beaten up. There were marks of strangulation on his neck. The most notable part of him was his stomach; he was disemboweled. He had died without an ounce of dignity.
Hmm...where could his body be?
I snapped my fingers, the soul dispersed into red glitters. Samael would know what to do with him. Keetan shifted in the bed. His eyes had opened; he stared at the ceiling, recounting what had happened to him before ending up in the clinic. Judging from the sudden stiffness of his muscles and the miserable expression, he remembered everything but shook his head in obvious denial.
"Keetan," I called out. Keetan sat up, clutching the blankets tightly and relaxed once he realized that it was his daddy.
"Sir?"
I smiled, placing my arm around his shoulders. "Are you feeling okay?" The boy nodded, leaning his head against my chest.
"I had this weirdest dream sir. I dreamt admitting that I was gay in front of everyone in school."
I held my breath before releasing a hearty laugh.
"Keetan, I'm sorry to say but it wasn't a dream. It really did happen and you fainted because of it." Keetan stared at me like a shocked cat that witnessed his two buddies having sex. I jerked my head to the side, grinning widely as if teasing him with a "Surprise!"
He once again fainted.
"Keetan?" Shaking him gently, I chuckled.
I couldn't blame him. His feet were once firmly planted on the holy ground of faith never once thinking that he would rise into the pleasurable clouds of sin.
I brought Keetan to my tent on the construction site. I would have left him to rest in the clinic but there was a rapist murderer on the loose. I dropped by the bar, finding Cain in a very bad mood that could summon Satan.
Well, here I am.
Abel sat at the farthest table from his brother with another boy. He had blonde and shaggy hair and an athletic build. It was still school hours, what were they doing here? That must be Michael, the boy Cain despised with every fiber in him.
"You seemed bothered," I teased. Abel burst into loud cackles at what Michael said.
"I hate him..." Cain hissed.
"The plan didn't work?" I questioned while he made me a drink.
"Abel really adores him. I can't seem to shake that respect he has for that guy."
I looked up, smirking. "Make him jealous."
Cain gave me a look of incredulity. "What?"
I shrugged. "Well, he's making you feel envious so why don't you do the same?"
He laughed. "I can't do that."
I crossed my arms. "Suit yourself, but I know someone who can help."
Cain slowly smiled. "I'll consider it."
My peripheral vision caught a glimpse of the most beautiful being to ever grace this damned world. Keetan stood at the entryway of the tent looking lost and half asleep. He automatically approached me, planting his cute butt on my lap. It wasn't like someone would bash him for sitting on a man's lap. Almost all of the people on this site were brainwashed.
"Sweetheart, why did you get up?"
Keetan whined, falling back to sleep in my arms. He was so precious and adorable I just wanted to lick him all over.
Cain snickered. "I never expected that you two would end up together. When I first met him, he was against all dark forces of evil."
I smiled at him innocently. "I'm not evil. I'm very nice and considerate."
Cain laughed. "Yeah right. You're like the devil himself."
My grin widened at that. "Maybe..."
Samael made his entrance next. He almost flew with how fast he moved. "Hey, have you heard? There's this dead kid found in the janitor's closet in the gym."
"Did they find out who did it?" Cain questioned.
Samael gave a toothy grin. "Nope...not yet. But I'm going to find out who did it. It wouldn't be too hard." Samael then froze on the spot. He had this annoying and malicious grin he always had whenever he found anything amusing.
He sniffed the air, snickering. Cain could only give him confused stares.
"Ohoh...this will be fun."
"What?" Cain queried.
"Your dick in Abel's ass. Ain't that pretty to hear?"
Cain covered Samael's mouth in an instant looking horrified with a deep blush in his face. "Shut up man!"
"Yes, please shut up. Keetan might hear you," I added, cradling the beautiful redhead in my arms.
Abel and Michael came up. Abel waved a hand at his brother who frowned in return. "I'll be going now."
Cain ignored him. Abel appeared hurt but cheered up when Michael shoved him forward and laughed.
"Interesting indeed," I commented.
