Chapter 19: Baby steps to revenge
The love and care of a parent to their child was similar to planting a seed. If you do not take care of it well that seed will grow poorly or may not even sprout at all. What a child will be in the future depended on how he had been raised by his parents.
Keetan's parents did not do their responsibilities properly and at the same time, they were factors which made Keetan into someone who every parent wanted to see in their child. Keetan was hopeful, God-loving, and smart. He showed his respect to everyone whether they'd be a criminal or his shallow parents. His growth was majorly influenced by the creator who I despised with all my heart and soul. But the creator wasn't the object of my fervent vexation as of now.
My eyes mirrored the image of the people who had made Keetan's life miserable and undesirable. Their wrists were tied tightly with ropes. They were hung to the ceiling of the husband's office room like pigs. I made a barrier around the room to trick the maids that their masters were out. In their eyes, we were invisible. They wouldn't know that the floor was already splattered with blood, that the shelves of books were now filled with torture apparatus, and that their masters were being persecuted for their acts.
In the past, I was the highest-ranked angel who cared for the salvation of others. I wanted to save them from the pain and agony in hell that was primarily cared for by Samael– the first persecutor in the underworld. He was the reaper of souls and the bringer of death.
The past was a mere dream for me but was not yet forgotten by many. My tale was told but was tampered with lies.
I was now the devil.
I was more iniquitous than the reaper.
I wished for others to sin so that they will be closer to me and farther from the God above.
They will suffer from my hands and their evil and corrupt souls will bring me more power.
Today, I felt half accomplished. My arms were not strained for causing the delicious pain to the two humans I despised. Their screams have started ever since I arrived from Derek's home. They were the most annoying screams I have ever heard in my life but the blood shed from them was worth it.
"Plea--please let us go! We'll give you all the money you want! We'll give you our house for Christ's sake!" Keetan's dad screamed.
His eyes and tone were desperate to be freed from the devil's clutches.
He didn't know that I was the legitimate devil.
The shrill cries of his wife made me think of wanting to take tylenol even when I haven't tried it yet. Their corporate clothes were torn and slashed, leaving some areas of their skins exposed. They were bleeding from the gashes made from the landings of my metallic whip. Samael sat beside the mahogany table while he watched with bored eyes. He looked ready to snap the neck of Keetan's mother any second now but I warned him with my eyes.
I wasn't finished with them yet.
They needed to be further tormented.
"Please!" Keetan's mother begged. "Please, I'm bleeding to death! Take me to the hospital!" she cried loudly.
Were they going to take Keetan to the hospital after they had beaten him to near death?
I thought not.
They planned to leave him to tend to his own wounds. They had the nerve to request to give them hospital treatment.
They made me sick. I think I need a Scopolamine patch for my revulsion.
I raised my arm. Both of their eyes widened in terror. My long whip created another incision on their flesh.
"Oh God help me!" Keetan's dad finally broke. Samael stood up from his seat, sauntering towards us.
"Your punishment is too light. I suggest you amputate them." Ah, the reaper wanted more blood. Samael loved bloody executions but not so much now. When I first worked with him thousands of years ago, I was one of the spectators of his persecution of a man who sinned by kidnapping and raping children of both sexes. He had established a relationship with his biological daughter and had committed homicide. He killed his own wife because she tried to report him to the authorities. Samael dragged down the man in hell and his cries became the music of many demons in hell. You'd know he went too far when one of the demons already complained of not being able to sleep at night because of the cries.
"Wha–What?! No! Please!" Keetan's parents were gravely shaken from what they had heard from him. They kicked and struggled even more.
"That will kill them quickly and besides, I have plans for their bodies."
Samael glanced at me in confusion but within a second he finally caught up to what my plan was. He had an unsure grin yet at the same time he was delighted with my plan. "Don't you think that could break Keetan?"
I smirked. "I'll make sure he gets over it."
I needed to cut the chains that restricted him from gaining the freedom he was deprived from. His parents were one of the reasons why he was afraid to do anything in his free will. I need to sever his delicate ties with them first.
And then I'll proceed to free him from the church...
And then to this town...
And then...to his God.
"Samael, do you want to have a blood bath this time? It's been awhile since you've done that."
The demon scrunched his face in disgust. "No thank you, I am now fully aware of the diseases you get from human fluids. #ImgladIknow #1share1condom."
I rolled my eyes. We couldn't get infected or get sick, unless you make us drink holy water. That would lead to some stomach upset.
"Mo–Monster! You are all monsters! You will all go to hell for this! The Father in heaven will make sure of that!" the mother screamed. Samael and I looked at each other humorously before we burst into laughter.
"He did. He really made sure of that," I chuckled. "And now, I'm bringing you there."
Keetan's mother shut her eyes and started praying. How could Keetan stand them for so many years? Keetan's dad swung, landing a kick on my chest.
"Go to hell you asshole! I'm sure Satan will warmly welcome you there!"
I never experienced giving myself a warm welcome. I should spoil myself once in a while.
"I will go there once I have claimed Keetan, until then, your souls will arrive there first before us."
Keetan's mother opened her eyes in rage. "Why are you doing this to us? If you kill us, Keetan will be an orphan! He needs us, you demons!"
I cocked my head, roughly grabbing her by the jaw, almost to the point of breaking her face. I had enough with them. She looked at me with fear-stricken eyes which made me more excited with what I was going to do.
"He doesn't need you. He thinks he does but he is just confused. The only one he needs is me. You're out of the picture you bitch!" I emphasized the last word. I will make Keetan hate them more.
I will make sure of that.
"Samael, cut the ropes..." I ordered.
The ropes were severed. Both of them fell to the ground with a loud thud. Grabbing two knives, I moved to the door with Samael tailing me. The husband and the wife stared at the knife they were holding. I gave out the instructions.
"This door will be guarded heavily. You cannot escape no matter what you do; I'm sure you know that by now. You will be freed once one of you dies. If you want to survive you have to make a sacrifice. Kill your other half and you will be free. Further instructions will be given after one of you succeeds."
Keetan's dad was horrified.
"What the hell is this? What...What the hell is this?!" he protested. His hand that held the knife shook terribly. I gave him a victorious smirk. With the torture I gave them for a few hours, I was sure that they do not desire to stay here longer.
"You can do it...After all, you already cheated on your wife." My eyes teasingly looked at Keetan's dad. Keetan's mother clenched her jaw from the memory.
Samael snickered. "By the way, I remembered your wifey here asking if she wanted to go to a motel with me, #Unfaithfulwifehere," he laughed.
Ah, yes, Samael told me that. That was the day when Keetan got drunk. She was angry with her husband for cheating on her but when she was captivated by Samael, she was ready to drop her underwear. This town was full of hypocrites.
They all deserved to go to hell and burn in my kingdom.
Samael and I left the room, locking it with a spell to make sure none of them would escape. I was certain that by the end of this day, one of them will die. Their relationship to each other was weak. The wife was the only one who had love despite her attempts of unfaithfulness. She was driven by revenge.
"Samael, taunt them," I demanded.
He was good at provoking people. It was his job to make people commit suicide. He only had one failed attempt and that was because Thomas, his fairy friend, intervened. Thomas was working on that Happily Ever After case. He didn't want the partner of the boy he was in charge of making happy to take his life.
Samael saluted. "Yes sir Satan sir!"
I looked back at the closed door before teleporting out of the house. Tomorrow, I will meet Keetan in school. I heard that he visited lately and asked for his parents. He was growing more suspicious of us...smart boy. Making him fall for my traps should be because of emotions and his weakened faith.
I waited for the day to end with a glass of wine while I monitored the progress of my mini stadium. This is where I will bring the earthly hell.
This is where all lives in this town will end.
Morning came by quickly. I went to school for my class. Everyone silenced once I entered the room. I began the lesson. Keetan was giving me a very intense glare. I could tell that he was a curious little kitten. When the class ended, I decided to stay for a while. Keetan would surely ask about his parents. I would gladly lie about it.
"Mister Hellion," Keetan called. Hmm...Why wasn't he calling me Mister Wall?
I ignored Keetan, pretending to be focused on checking the pop quiz I gave. The groans of the students from having announced that there was a pop quiz gave me a tiny satisfaction because they were in agony. I didn't expect that giving quizzes was an effective torture method.
"Mister Hellion, may I speak with you?" He asked and approached me closer until he stood in front of my table. The sweet scent of his innocence was lingering in my nostrils.
Keetan grunted when he figured that I wouldn't speak to him unless he would call me by the name I wanted. "Mister Wall!" He called rather in a high tone. I looked up to him and smiled. His face was adorably red.
"Yes, snowflake?"
Keetan blushed even further. "I...I...I want to ask for my parents' whereabouts. You told Samael that night to...take care of them."
I pretended to remember that night and let out an apologetic face. "Ah that...well you see, I told Samael to tend to their injuries if there were any and to call the police but when he did call for assistance, your parents left."
Keetan seemed intrigued and at the same time worried. "They...left?"
I nodded. "They must be afraid to be punished by the law."
Keetan licked his lips, nodding his head in understanding. He looked depressed.
"I see sir...I'm sorry for the bother and thank you for...saving me."
I stood up, patting Keetan's head. I towered over him very much. Nothing really changed in his appearance but he was no longer the playful and mischievous Miniel who I fell in love with. He was already the diligent, faithful, and kind Keetan.
And I still love him.
And I very much wanted to corrupt him.
I walked around the table and engulfed Keetan in a tight hug which caught him by surprise. I already realized that killing his parents will hurt him but I will be there for him once he sees the bloody end of his parents.
He will love me for it.
He will trust me more.
And I would be willing to erase a whole town just to claim what was mine.
"I'm here for you Keetan. If you want, I'll help you find your parents."
