Chapter 18

"Bzzzzzzt" A chorus of bee-sounds erupted from the children's area- making the priest stop and look up in fear.

"Get off!" Simon said loudly, standing as he swatted an imaginary bee off of him. The rest of the children quickly stood up and copied his actions, making bee noises and standing up, swatting the air. Adelaide and Evangeline held up spectacles, looking at the children as they swatted and ran away from the bees.

"There's one on you!"

"Look out!" The children even started hitting one another, trying to rid the creatures.

Soon, the whole left side of the audience was swatting, their imaginations getting the better of them. I smirked at Simon, who seemed to have caught me looking at him because he stared at me from across the aisle, a smile evident on his face.

"It's the flowers! The flowers on her dress- it's attracting them!" Simon called pointing to Selma. The priest was panicking.

"I hate bees, I'm allergic." He told Selma and Mr Brown.

"There aren't any bees you fool, GET ON WITH IT!" Selma spoke sharply.

"No, truly- I am" The priest ducked his head down "I swell up!"

"Don't you see? They're ruining my lovely wedding, vicious creatures. Do something." Selma turned to Mr Brown as they shared a few words, her hitting his arm at one point.

"Cedric, look at me. Do you see any bees?" Mr Brown turned to his children, smiling at Simon as he returned it. I'm guessing they made up? Or at least Mr Brown took my advice.

"I said LOOK AT ME! DO YOU SEE ANY BEES?!" The horrid bride asked as Mr Brown just looked at her.

"DO YOU?!" She repeated. Mr Brown gazed at her hat before speaking "I do", smacking it off her head and sending her crashing to the floor.

"Got the nasty bugger." Mr Brown concluded as I giggled slightly, pleased at how funny this is. The priest came over, panicking, squirming around like a child.

"It's on me!" He whimpered, his arm flying out suddenly and colliding with the cake stand. A blue treat flew through the air and hit Selma directly in the face. The children laughed as the priest was in shock

"Lord love a duck! I-I'm so dreadfully sorry" he panicked again.

Selma didn't speak, instead she picked up another cake and threw it directly at the man, who dodged it and instead went flying into Adelaide's face. My mouth hung open in shock before I couldn't contain myself, I actually started laughing until my chest hurt. This felt foreign.

"Oh, your highness!" Adelaide stood, spitting out bits of green icing as she commanded two of the footman to throw one for her. The kids were laughing as father looked down at me, unimpressed.

That was about the moment when hell broke loose and I was nearly rolling on the floor, clutching my stomach because I was laughing so hard. Mrs Blatherwick had her arms protectedly around the cake. Before I could stop myself, I grabbed one of the nicely decorated cupcakes and smeared it across my fathers face.

He sent me a sickening glare and I knew I was going to be in trouble. I calmed down a little, trying to sound as lady like as possible but nothing worked.

"Not the cake!" Mrs Blatherwick exclaimed as Simon threw a piece of cake to knock out the bride figurine.  Mr Brown suddenly walked out, a violin in his hand as Simon practiced cricket with the cupcakes. This was a lot of fun, and I was kind of happy this happened.

Mr Brown threw a giant slice of brown iced cake which accidentally landed on Evangeline. She purposely stood up and strode over to the cake stall. She grabbed a cream pie before throwing it at Mr Brown. They both bursted out laughing as Lily launched a cake towards me, it making contact with my face.

I gasped at the feeling as she stuck a tongue out at me playfully. Suddenly, another cold but slimy feeling ran down my back as I shuddered.

I turned around to see a cake- ridden face to be none other than Simon. He had a smug look on his face as his fingers were covered in icing. I broke out into a huge grin before pulling him into a hug, despite the mess on both our clothes. I felt him kiss my cheek lightly and thanked God that my face was covered in cake.

"You're going to pay for that mister" I say, referring back to the cake he put on me before putting pink icing in his fluffy hair. I smirk at him once more before testing out the icing, taking my finger and putting it on Simon's cheek, collecting a decent amount of  the pink and green mixture. Another cake hit the side of our faces as we both cracked up, the cake fight still in full swing.

Please like me. Please like me. I continued to scream to myself in my head. That's all I had to know, did he return the feelings? And if he did was he going to confess?

I saw Adelaide scold at Evangeline, making her completely forget her ways.

"Sod my manners, you old trout. This is the most fun I've had in WEEKS!" She yelled, launching another cake at Mr Brown.

Suddenly, Selma started freaking out "My hair....where's my hair?!" She screamed as she clutched the ends of her yellow locks, looking for her missing extensions.

"Look at them, the little SMALL THINGS!" Chrissy mocked, Selma's hair on her and Sebastian's heads, badly covering their heads. I suddenly had a huge fear for what was to come for the pair.

"THATS IT!!" Everyone looked at the crazy bride "YOU DREADFUL, AWFUL, MONSTROUS CREATURES!!" She screamed at them, grabbing their heads. I was about to run out to Chrissy and Sebastian when two hands grabbed my arm, pulling me back. I looked at Simon with a confused expression as Mr Brown intervened.

"Get your hands OFF my children" he said, pulling Chrissy and Sebastian behind him as I told the two to come to Simon and I. They ran over to us.

"CEDRIC! IT'S OVER! I WON'T SPEND ANOTHER MINUTE IN THIS HELL- HOLE! And I don't care how much the old hag is giving you! BETTY- THE LAMBS" Selma screeched, dragging her friend out as she stormed down the path to go back home.

"A NICE choice for a wife, I must say Cedric!" Adelaide spoke sarcastically, sounding irritated.

"I'm very sorry Aunt Adelaide but you gave me no time to find anyone else." He said

"And as for you children, a lengthy spell in a corrective institution is LONG overdue and YOU Evangeline!-" Adelaide said, looking at Evangeline and I "-I can see you are as wild as the rest of them"

This made Evangeline stand up against this comment.

"And Proud to be! I love them Lady Stitch, which is way more than you do!" This made Adelaide slightly annoyed.

"INSOLENCE! I'd leave you here to rot but I gave my word that I would raise you as my own and I never EVER break my word." This, for some reason made me angry and I tensed up. Simon squeezed my hand, which I didn't even realize he still had hold of.

"Who cares about your bloody word?! This family is happy and you seem happy destroying that!" I nearly shouted through gritted teeth with a trace of sincerity in my words. I gripped Simon's hand harder.

"COME AWAY, NOW" Adelaide commanded, completely ignoring my remark and walking off. Evangeline hesitated before following her. My father turned to me, he didn't look very happy. Infact, it'd be lucky if he let me stay any longer.

"Come now, my child. I told you we wouldn't be wasting our time here, and I don't care about where your heart is. We are leaving! NOW!" My father almost screeched at me as my face flared up a crimson red colour.  Everyone was looking at us. Simon and Tora grabbed onto my hands, trying to stop me from going after my horrid father.

I was embarrassed, my face probably bright red. How could my father scream at me like that? In front of literally everyone. "I hate you." I muttered through gritted teeth but made sure he heard.

"I'm sorry." I quickly shook Simon and Tora's hands off before running after my putrid dad, tears blurring my vision. I didn't want to make this worse, after all, I was already fearing the punishment I was going to receive for the whole cake incident. I had to face reality, my father didn't understand one thing about love but then again, neither did I.

Simon and I aren't suppose to be together and the world has made it quite clear. With one more sigh in defeat, I strode after my father.
