» Sparring

Cashire is another one of my Ocs for the sequel of PMO. He's going to be an important character so I'm just doing shorts to get his character down.

This is what he looks like

~.~.~

Do you know what is not a great date? Beating the absolute shit out of your significant other during a sparring match.

Tanami was not really sure how this happened but her body was suddenly weightless as her eyesight was unable to focus. The feeling of her spine colliding with the hard, blue mat made her lips part open to release a sudden gasp. Saliva flew from her mouth as her body bounced from the amount of force she was slammed down with. Strips of her amethyst hair slammed together and released a cacophony of clinks. Pain flared across her back as ache settled into her nerves. For a few seconds, she forgot how to breathe and was left to gasp for air.

Hovering above her, she barely managed to scrape past the blurriness in her vision to witness the various hues of orange smashed together. A chuckle vibrated against her eardrums as the person above her drew closer. "I win again."

That irritating, know-it-all voice made her blood boil underneath her skin but she could not do anything at the moment. Her body was temporarily out of commission from the hard hit she took. The figure, better known as Cashire, had taken her by surprise and easily threw her over his shoulder. The last thing she recalled before slamming against the ground was seeing his teasing smirk. After a few seconds, her vision finally cleared and her heart rate was beginning to slow down.

She stayed still on the ground, sweat trickling down her face and cooling her warm skin. The crystal's fingers curled, twitching ever so slightly as frustration crawled on top of her skin. A puff of air left her while she narrowed her eyes and glared at Cashire who still was above her. He was blocking her view of staring at the white ceiling above.

His hand reached out toward her as he bent at the waist. Tanami glared at his offering hand but still stretched her arm out with a pout. His fingers wrapped around her own, the callouses decorating his palm pressing against her own sweaty one. Effortlessly, Cashire pulled her up and placed her on her feet. Her bare feet sunk slightly into the mat and his hand rested on her clothed shoulder to keep her balanced in case she teetered.

Her periwinkle eyes peered at the other teenager's figure. Strands of brown hair clung to his forehead coated in sweat and his cheeks were dusted in a light red from the exertion. Light exhales escaped his lips as his chest heaved up and down. Dark lashes covered the top half of his bright orange eyes while the edges of his lips quirked. "You're still slow."

Tanami's fists curled as she lightly stomped her foot. "I'll win the next round!"

"Really now?" Cashire questioned as he tilted his head curiously. Pieces of brown hair fell with the movement and his chest rumbled from a short laugh he emitted. "You've been saying that for the past- I'd like to say seven rounds? You know I could have slammed you harder against the ground if I wanted to and taken you out?"

"Yeah, what stopped you?" The amethyst-haired girl asked. She brushed off the boy's hand from her shoulder and crossed her arms. So what if she lost the last couple of rounds? That does not mean she could not win the next round. But... her back was still hurting from being flung! Well, that is just great. Just great.

"Wouldn't want your hair to break. It can't grow back after all." He smiled softly as his index finger delicately raised a strip of crystal. His skin was doused in a soft lavender hue from the glow radiating off of her amethyst hair.

"Sure, sure," Tanami rolled her eyes as a short chortle escaped her. However, she could not help but feel the burning of the tips of her ears from his light touch. "That's totally understandable."

The boy bent down at the waist slightly. It was obvious why he did so since he was nearly a foot taller than her. Hell, she was pretty sure he was taller than her dad and Tomohiro was pretty tall. "Don't believe me?"

"Why would I?"

"Haven't we known each other for a long time now?" Cashire released his hold on her hair before running his fingers through his damp chestnut locks.

"Maybe."

Grabbing his right forearm, Tanami pulled the boy close to her. At the same time, she bent her left leg and swept her right heel behind his legs. Her calf connected with his own as she forced him off his feet.

He blinked once as he was suddenly swept off balance. Nonetheless, the chestnut-haired teen allowed his body to fall onto his side. As quickly as he could, he pressed his left palm against the mat and used his momentum to curl himself into a one-handed cartwheel. The second the flat of his feet pressed the blue surface, he was met with the sight of a small fist aiming for his abdomen. With ease, he brought his right arm down in an arc to push Tanami's strike off while he sidestepped.

The crystal's teeth lightly clenched together as she shifted her feet back. She stutter-stepped just in time to evade the roundhouse kick. In an instant, Tanami raised both arms with her fists curled. One was placed in front of the other while she readjusted her stance into a defensive one. A bead of sweat trickled down her jawline but she refused to swipe it away.

Cashire flexed his fingers as he raised them. Unlike her, his fingers were curled but not all the way into fists. His palms faced each other as he bent his knees slightly. His orange eyes brightened, almost like he was eager for another fight.

Without warning, the male rushed forth. Kicking off of his toes, he jumped and spun in the air. As he did this, he brought his leg down to try to connect his heel with her head. A rush of adrenaline flooded Tanami's veins as she instantly dropped her stance. She threw herself forward, curling her body inward in order to roll. She raised herself back up with one knee pressed against the mat. Simultaneously, Cashire landed on his feet almost like a cat. He bounced lightly on his toes before he swerved around.

"You actually moved for once!" He teased as he wiped the sweat off his face with the end of his white short-sleeved shirt. Tanami would be lying if her eyes did not trail down to see the visible outline of his abs.

Joyful laughter escaped the sixteen-year-old's mouth while Tanami's face was flushed in bright crimson. Whether it was embarrassment or something else, she did not want to know. She hated the way that she actually enjoyed the way his laughter echoed across the room. She kind of wants to dig a hole and hide herself because she did not know she made her stare so obvious...

"You did that on purpose!" The girl shrieked.

All Cashire did was tilt his head up and smile innocently. "Maybe."

With that answer said, Tanami swirled on her heels and ran out of the room. "I'm hiding all of your contacts and both pairs of your glasses!"

Cashire's face fell on the realization that the female was not kidding. "You better not touch them! I need those to see!"

The second he stepped out of the room, he felt a sudden weight latch onto his back. Nimble hands swiped across his shoulders for a brief moment before he was pushed down a bit. The next thing he knew was that something wrapped around his neck, twirled him around, and his body slammed against the concrete. He ground his teeth together to keep the groan from leaving him.

Trying his best to gaze up, he was greeted with Tanami's victorious grin. She had placed him in a triangle chokehold or a chokehold with her legs. People who are light, agile, and flexible are the ones who mainly use a move like this. As more pain flared up around his neck and back, Cashire slammed his palm thrice against the concrete.

Releasing her grasp, Tanami scooted backward while Cashire coughed a few times. He rubbed his neck with one hand while propping the other behind him. Once he regained a steady pace to breathe, the male tilted his head back to stare at her. "Fine, you win this one. How did you get behind me? You ran left out the door and I turned that way."

"Yay!" The girl pumped her arms and proceeded to collapse with her limbs sprawled out. Despite the exhaustion sketched onto her face, she was still beaming with pride. "I'm not telling how I did that. Still, I won!"

"Yes, you did." The boy stated while still rubbing his neck. He released a long sigh. "I still have to teach you how to use a katana."

"I prefer stealing Roisin's stash of pudding." Tanami clasped her hands together with a mischievous smile on her lips.

Cashire shrugged but did not dismiss thr idea. "Neith did just buy chocolate truffles."

"Bet I can steal the pudding before you steal the truffles."

"You're terrible at lock picking."

Both grinned as they hastily got to their feet and dashed in separate ways down the hallway. The only thing drumming in their ears was the sound of their own footsteps as they parted ways.
