The sound of heels clicking on the marble floor was making him aware of her presence. With a frown painted on his full lips, he turned around to look into his girlfriend's big brown eyes. Her eyes were swollen, showing him that she had been crying. He took a deep breath and looked away from her. His manager tugging on his arm, leading him into the conference room that was awaiting them.

"L-Lucas..." The girl started but the male was already inside the room. Her manager pulled on the sleeve of her oversized sweatshirt. She looked down and followed him into the room, where Lucas and one of his managers had already taken a seat on the opposite side of the table.

It's been hectic 48 hours in the life of the young actress Yoo Boyoung. After she had finished her shooting her manager was called to cancel every schedule of Boyoung for the next 72 hours. Her manager was confused at first but did what the company wanted and cancelled all of Boyoung's schedules.

The company went even a step further and cancelled her and Lucas' schedules for the next three months. 

Boyoung didn't know why the company did this until she stumbled upon a Dispatch article that was blowing up on the internet. People from all around the world were commenting on the pictures and the videos that showed Boyoung and Lucas' makeout session back in Bali.

And now she was forced into a meeting that would discuss her own future. And the one of her boyfriend.

Well, Boyoung wasn't sure if Lucas was still her boyfriend. He seemed to be devastated about the fact that their secret relationship was not that secret anymore.

Boyoung's thoughts were interrupted by their CEO who entered the room with a frown on his lips. He quickly took a seat at the head of the table and looked at the two teenagers in front of him. He saw the distress in Boyoung's and Lucas' face and sighed.

"I know the two of you are young and it's normal for young people to fall in love..." He sighed. "And it's normal for young people to try things out... But the two of you are people with a fanbase. You have thousands of people talking about you and gossiping about you every single day. Something scandalous like that is too big to hide. This can't be hidden away with a simple, 'they regret their doings'." Lee Soo Man spoke and rubbed his temple.

Boyoung looked at her lap. She knew what her CEO was saying was right and she knew that this type of scandal wasn't one, that could be covered easily. People wouldn't want to see movies that starred Boyoung. They would start boycotting her career — she was aware of it.

But what she was even more aware of, was the fact that she had ruined Lucas' career. He was still a rookie Idol and here he was sitting with a grown love scandal. 

Boyoung looked up and saw Lucas biting his lip. He was so unsure of what he should do, she could see it in his face. She tried to call him after the article popped up, but he blocked all of her calls. And she knew he was mad because his career was his life.

"Lucas, Boyoung... please look up."

The actress obeyed to her CEO's words and lifted her head and looked at him. He was looking at the teenagers with soft eyes, knowing that they must be hurt. "I'm sorry but the two of you have to break it off completely. We can't risk the loss of fans for both of your careers." 

Boyoung felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes. She knew her company would force her to break it off with Lucas. She knew she was going to be punished by making them break up. 

Lucas listened to the CEO with a big lump in his throat. He felt sorry for ignoring Boyoung in such a critical time and not being man enough to stand up for them and their relationship—but he was only nineteen and he didn't know what to do and how he could save both of them so he let his company decide it.

Even though it was going to hurt him.

And her.

"Lucas, you're soon going to China for our China-based unit. Please prepare your departure soon. We're sending Kun and Ten with you." Soo Man continued before his eyes drifted over to Boyoung. "And you're going into an acting Hiatus. We're going to send you to our European Department. Maybe you can learn something there." The head of SM finished and looked from Boyoung to her manager. "You're fired." He simply stated and stood up. Leaving the room, leaving Boyoung, her manager, Lucas and his manager behind, he closed the door with a soft thud.

Boyoung looked at Lucas who was quietly standing up, his manager already walking to the door. 

"Lucas!" She called and the boy locked his eyes with hers. "I'm sorry..." Her voice broke from the tears that were dropping on to her cheeks. "I never meant to ruin your career. I promise." Her voice was only a whisper and the tall Rapper sighed. "I know." He turned away. "And I never meant to break your heart like this." He walked quietly towards the door.

"I'm sorry for falling in love with you."

Lucas left the room after his manager. He left and Boyoung blinked twice, realizing what actually just happened. "He apologised for loving me..." Boyoung whispered and felt her heart shatter in a million pieces. 

"Let's get you home, Boyoung." Her manager spoke and helped her stand up from her chair. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you from this kind of media. I loved being your manager, I truly did." He said and wiped the tears off her cheeks. "But I think it's time for a new start. For the both of us."

Boyoung felt another wave of tears roll over herself. She whimpered and nodded, leaving the room that now held memories of her forced breakup.

Lucas was her first love. And even if it was short, it was enjoyable. And sweet.

Bittersweet.
