One day, I'm walking to class and a group of kids are laughing at something .

I walk forward pushing through the crowd and see that Hunt is on the floor with a bloody nose.

I drop my bag and jump down next to him.

"Oh my god. Hunt, are you okay?" I ask worriedly.

Hunt grips his nose tightly. "Yeah, I'm okay, Lucas"

I help him stand up .

A guy bumps into me and causes me to push Hunt against the wall , our lips smash together.

I sit for a moment basking in the bliss and perfection I feel in that moment .

Suddenly, I remember the jocks that pushed Hunt down.

I pull off of Hunt and quickly turn around to face the jerks that gave my crush a bloody nose, they were so dead.

I step to punch them, but they beat me to it.

Conner socks me in my stomach and I drop on to my knees .

"Hey!"someone yells.

I look up from the floor in pain to see my twin sister standing in front of me.

Terra steps forward and grabs Conner's shirt in her fist.

"Leave  my brother and Hunt alone, you hurt my ship and I hurt you, got it?" Terra says menacingly.

Conner smirks at me.

" Aw Lucas, you need your wittle sister to fight your battles for you?" Conner says in a baby voice.

Terra kicks him in a not so nice place and he falls down in pain.

" I suggest you walk away now while you still have your pride" my sister says.

Conner regains his composure and gets up. He looks at Terra, then me and Hunt .

He growls in my direction.

"I'll remember this, Grants. And Lucas, just know your sister won't be around to save you next time"

Conner limps off but tries not to show it, with the rest of the team following.

Terra helps me up.

"You  okay Lucas?" Terra asks me.

"Yeah,  I'm okay, thanks Terra . But we better get Hunt to the nurse" I say and Terra nods.

We take Hunt to the nurse.

"You  okay?" I ask Hunt.

"Yeah, I just need a tissue " his voice is a little raspy.

" and maybe a cough drop and a little throat spray"

While we're walking Hunt to the nurse all I think about is when our lips were smashed together.

In that moment I felt so peaceful and happy.

Was that my first kiss?

Did it even count as a kiss?

When we were in the nurse's office I pulled Hunt over to the side.

"Hey, I think we need to talk about what happened between us" I say

" yeah you're right" Hunt says.

"so what did it mean?" I ask.

"What do you want it to mean?" Hunt says.

"Well, I mean I guess it didn't mean anything".

I nervously laugh and Hunt looks a little hurt.

Idiot. I scold myself.

"Oh, yeah I totally agree"

"Okay, cool"

"Cool."

We stand there awkwardly until the nurse comes and give Hunt a tissue for his nose and a cough drop with a little throat spray.

We walk Terra back to her class and she waved to us before going in.

Hunt and I walk to our class and the entire way there I can't help but think of how stupid I acted.

It didn't mean anything???

It meant everything me.

I'm an idiot,

my stupidity still never ceases to amaze me.
