I collapse against my bedroom door while  my sister is doing her homework on her bed .

"Hey,  where have you been?" My sister asks.

"Don't. Ask.  " I say.

"It was that bad?" She asks.

"No. It was worse." I groan and rub my head now getting a headache.

Terra  pats the bed.

You wanna talk about it?" Terra asks .

"Maybe later" I say.

Terra nods and I sigh and go to take a shower .

I shower and change into a cool tank top and jeans .

I get a text so  I pull out my phone to check it .

My heart flutters when I see it's from Hunt .

Green eyes💘: I'm on my way

I reply back.

Me: cool. see you then.

I smile as I reread the texts .

"So are you going to tell me what happened or not??! " Terra asks me impatiently

I sigh.

See, the thing about Terra is that once she gets interested in something she won't drop it unless she gets all the juicy details.

I sit on the bed.

She scoots over and I take a deep breath and start telling her the story from the beginning.

"So you know my teammate,  Jake?" I ask her.

She nods keeping quiet inviting me to continue.

"So, he invited me over saying he needed my help with basketball and I thought harmless enough right? Nope. Not at all! When we were shooting hoops he let his guard down and let me score! "

I stood up and paced throwing up my arms.

"Something my teammate would never do! And even worse, he kissed me!"

Terra looked shocked .

I was pacing Terra and stopped me and sat me back down on the bed.

"How are you going to tell Hunt?" Terra asks.

"I don't know" I said.

"He obviously likes you and you like him. You guys are my OTP! You can not break up before you even get together!" Terra says almost yelling.

"I honestly don't even  know what we are anymore " I say more confused with my thoughts then ever.

Then as if on cue the door bell rings.

"Well, now's your chance to find out. Go! Go! " 

She pushes me off the bed and I go downstairs.

Terra follows me and I open the door with my entire family standing behind me now .

I give them an annoyed look and smile at Hunt.

"Come on in" I said.

He walks in and we go up to my room.

Terra followed us to get her stuff .

Since Hunt was staying with us, Terra convinced  my parents to let Hunt stay in my room and Terra would stay in the extra bedroom .

After some convincing, my parents agreed.

I help Hunt unpack then we hang out until my mom calls us down for dinner.

We walk downstairs .

When we get in the kitchen and my mom looks at us from the stove.

"Lucas dear,  aren't you going to introduce us to your boyfriend?" My mom asks.

Hunt and I blush bright red.

"He's not my boyfriend mom , just a friend that's all" I say and Terra smiles at me smugly from across the table.

I roll my eyes and Hunt and I sit down. 

During dinner my parents start pestering Hunt with questions like "are you enjoying school?"

"How's your family?"

"Do you have any siblings?"

Stuff like that.

I've just been picking at my mom's chicken for the last half hour,  avoiding the sickening talk of my parents pestering Hunt.

Terra kicks me  under the table . I look up at her a confused expression on my face .

She mouths "tell him"

I look over at Hunt telling a story of when he was younger and laughing.

He's  got a really cute laugh.

He looks so happy,  I don't want to ruin his day by telling him I got kissed by another guy .

"After dinner " I mouth back.

She rolls her eyes and mouths back "fine" so I know she won't let this go.

After dinner Terra pulls me over to the side.

"You  can't hide this from him forever, bro. He deserves to know , he's your best friend, Lucas. Not to mention the guy of your dreams and your soulmate " Terra says to me.

"I'll tell him, just not right this minute. Look at him, Terr. He looks so happy if I tell him Jake kissed me it'll break his heart. I-I don't want to hurt him, Terr" I say.

She drops my arm and points a finger at me.

"Fine, but if you don't tell him soon, I will and it should really come from you, Lucas .If you tell him the truth and don't let him find out any other way, it will hurt him way less"

And with that she goes upstairs.

I had to admit she did have a point.

Hunt drops his plate in the sink and we go upstairs .

We lie on my bed, me facing one way and Hunt facing the other. We were both playing on our phones but we lay them down and stare  up at the ceiling.

"Do you ever feel like your whole world is spinning and your lying to the people you care about most?" Hunt says .

He has no idea.

Before I can stop myself I burst out "Jake kissed me!" I cover my mouth before I say something else stupid .

Hunt sits up and stares at me.

"That jerk on your basketball team that knocks books out of my hands in the halls? And helps Conner torture me? He kissed you?!"

I nod guiltily.

"You might have to be specific, there's lots of jerks on my team" I say.

Stupid, I know. But it was a reflex for me to crack a joke in a tense situation. I hated it, especially now.

"Are you really trying to crack a joke right now?!" Hunt asks in disbelief.

"I can't deal with this right now I think we better get ready for bed "

Hunt gets off and walks over to his bed.

"Hunt"I say.

He changes in the bathroom and turns out the light and lays down.

After trying to get him to talk for a whole ten  minutes and him ignoring me the whole time,  I finally give up and go  change and go to bed.

Why  why why did Jake have to kiss me? Why?! What did I ever do to him?! To  make him make me hurt the one I love. He was so dead when I saw him next.
