Chapter 2
After a while, she snapped a twig that made Little Red jump. She saw Aera in the shadows "who are you?" she asked with a shaky voice. "Just a wolf" Aera said, stepping out into the light, approaching the girl and asking "Isn't it a bad idea to come out here alone?" Red looked at her and smiled, "There's nothing out here but trees and animals," she replied. The wolf was surprised that the little girl didn't cower before her. "Aren't you afraid of me?" she asked. The girl chuckled "What for? you don't look scary." Aera tilted her head, still as confused as before. "Who areyou?" she asks. "Just call me Red," the girl answered. "Alright, Little Red. Where are you headed?" Aera asks. "I'm going to my grandmother's house because she's sick." Red answered nicely, then she showed Aera the goods that she was carrying. Aera almost forgot about her mission and now she had a bigger problem; the trail that the woodsman was on lead straight to a small cottage. This cottage was were Red's grandmother lived; being an elderly woman made the grandmother a perfect target, but she didn't want Little Red to fret. "I know a beautiful flower patch that I think you'd enjoy. If you're going to be in the forest, you should at least take in the scenes as you walk by." Aera said, hoping she'd take the bait. Of course, the girl agreed and the wolf lead her to the flower patch as promised. Aera spent a little time with Red, slowly growing close to her. She even managed to get her tail to wag. She finally felt hopeful that she didn't have to be alone and that she could trust others again. However, she had duties to attend to. She excused herself while Red picked flowers and made flower crowns and ran ahead to make sure she wasn't too late.
