The next morning Xiao Zhan silently ate his breakfast with furrowed brows. He had the weirdest dream last night.

"Zhan why are you so quiet?" Jiyang asked as he noticed the lack of talking.

"Zhan?"

Xiao Zhan blankly stared at Jiyang before sighing. "It's nothing. I... I just had the weirdest dream last night but I don't even know if all of it was a dream."

Yibo spilled the tea he was drinking on Haoxuan's face who kept trying to stop his laughter.
He coughed a few times and drank the water before turning to Xiao Zhan who gave him a blank look.

"I dreamt last night that I was sleeping on your father's lap which is quite absurd considering I haven't met your father yet. Then I was in bed with you. I remembered a few things before everything just stopped."

Yibo nervously gulped his saliva as Xiao Zhan stared at him. His stare wasn't the usual loving one but a serious one and it's making him nervous.

"Zhan.... that.... wasn't a dream. We got back here and saw you sleeping with your head on Uncle's lap."

"That wasn't a dream! ....... Oh god what did I just do!! Wahh! I can't believed I slept in your father's lap!" Xiao Zhan hysterically said as he had a shock look. It sounds so unbelievable to him.

"What would your Dad think of me? Wahhh this is so embarrassing! Why did I have to sleep on his lap...... Ugh floor please open up and swallow me now." Xiao Zhan covered his face with his hand since it was so red from embarrasment.

Jiyang chuckled as he watched a panicking Xiao Zhan in amusement. "Calm down Zhan. Uncle surprisingly likes you a lot."

That calmed down Xiao Zhan but only a bit as his face is still tomato red, "Really?"

"Yup. You won't have to worry about those stereotypic kind of parents that wants rich girls for their son. I'm also surprise that Uncle took it well and accepted you." Haoxuan muttered before stuffing his face with a whole piece of pancake.

"Well.... I'm glad he accepted me. I was afraid I'd have to either fight some girl for Yibo or give up if his father puts pressure on me."

"Give up?" Yibo asked, slightly hurt that his Zhan would rather give him up than fight till the end if it were to come to worse.

"I'm not as strong as others are Yibo. Your father is a very powerful man, he can easily control me by using my beloved friends and I can't have them be involved with my decisions. I don't have a strong background to help too and if someone were to send a killer for me I wouldn't be able to defend myself." Xiao Zhan explained since he had a point in his words.

He was just a normal man to begin with. Struggling to survive, being thankful to the people he met especially Zhao Lei. He knew that he should fight for the man he loves, but what can he do? A man with not much of a background, a prosthetic leg, worn down house and a donkey as family. He's basically a poor man trying his best to live and see another day.

There are times he wished to give up on life but his friends stopped that. His friends became his family and if they ever get hurt or involved in his affairs he won't forgive himself. After all, they have done so much for him.

His sad frown turned into a smile as Jiyang backed him up. "Zhan is right Yibo. He was an ordinary guy with a missing leg before meeting you, if Uncle were to hurt someone close to him he wouldn't handle it well. He isn't like those spoiled rich girls who won't care if they feed their family or close friends to the beast and would even fight to the death just to become your wife. But Zhan remember.... If you truly love someone fight for them. Don't give up so easily because regret will follow you in the end."

"Thank you Jiyang. I'm glad it won't have to come to that since your father accepted me then I'll prove to him that I can be worthy of standing by your side. I will show him how much good I am instead of those girls who probably just wanted someone rich so they won't have to work their assess off for the rest of their lives." Xiao Zhan said with determination and with burning passion clearly seen in his eyes.

That brought a smile and a slight blush onto Yibo's face.

"Then I shall protect you and be your shield as you proved yourself to my dad."

And true to Xiao Zhan's words, he did started proving himself.

Every time Mr. Wang would visit he and Xiao Zhan would talk like they were the best of friends. It wasn't hard to get into Mr. Wang's soft side. The man already had a soft spot for Xiao Zhan to begin with.

He adores the younger so much that he would sometimes bring gifts or invite him shopping. It's amusing how Mr. Wang spoils Xiao Zhan more than his own son.

Their interaction brought great joy to Wang Yibo. Since he had expected his father to be opposed of him marrying a man at that, but he was glad that wasn't the case.

Now the only problem is the potential enemies he'll have as he is the next in line to take over the business. He was aready targeted even when he wasn't the President of the company yet. What more when he takes over and becomes the President.

Dangers will be unavoidable but he'll make sure Xiao Zhan doesn't get hurt. And if Xiao Zhan does get hurt he'll make sure the people involved will pay with their life. He'll bring hell those who dares threaten the life of the man he loves.

He'll protect the man he swore to love with all his might.
