Shock.

It was what Xiao Zhan was feeling as he sat right infront of Yibo's Father who gave a very unannounced and unexpected visit. He was also unlucky to be left alone as Yibo had something to do with Haoxuan and Jiyang had to take the kids for a check up.

He was feeling very nervous as this wass the first time he saw Yibo's Father.

"You don't have to be nervous around me boy. I'm not gonna eat you nor criticize you about how you're not good for my son. I'm just here to see how you and my son are doing." the strong voice made Xiao Zhan flinch a bit but he composed himself with a shy blush on his face.

"O-oh. Sorry. Yibo and the others aren't here though."

"That's the reason why I came. My son would've answered all my questions for you if he were here."

Silence overtook them as Xiao Zhan began fidgeting often biting his finger as his knees bounced in nervousness. He didn't know what questions are going to be asled be he sure as hell will jave to answer them all by himself.

While Xiao Zhan was having a mini panic attack in his mind, Wang Ruxen was busy studying him. From his well managed posture to his prosthetic leg and his fidgeting. Everything he does was being studied by Wang Ruxen.

"Do you like my son?"

"What?"

"Answer my question boy."

"I don't like him sir-"

"Then what! Are you after his money?"

"Nonono. It's not that. I just don't like your son but love him. Even though it hasn't been a year with our relationship I fell inlove with Yibo more and more. His actions speaks more than words and I strongly feel his love for me. And the fact that he is willing to help my friends for me is enough proof for me to fall inlove with him even more."

The sincerity and honesty in Xiao Zhan's voice and confession warmed Wang Ruxen's heart. Though he never really understood much about Yibo since they aren't like normal father and son, he was happy that someone else can give what he couldn't to his son.

"What do you see in my son?"

"I...I see someone who's broken but not entirely, though he hides it well with his poker face and cold demeanor but I can still feel and see it in his eyes. He may not be expressive with words but his actions are proof of how he loves me. I clearly see a huge similarity with you and Yibo but his looks doesn't follow yours."

A laugh from Wang Ruxen startled Xiao Zhan a bit but relaxed when the man gave him a kind smile.

"You're right. My son follows his mother's appearance but his attitude was mine. I was like him back in my younger days and like you my wife was also an orphan who was adopted by an old man who lost his daughter in an accident. She was.... she was yhe reason I changed my ways. I fell inlove with her at the wrong time though."

"Wrong time?" Xiao Zhan asked puzzled.

"Yes. I was apready engaged with someone else and was about to be married in three months time when I met her. She was my soulmate, the one whom I'd truly open up to and love wholeheartedly. At that time my own father refused my protest of cancelling the engagement. But my mother stood by my side and we fought trying to change my father's mind. It was only after the very day of my unwanted wedding that he finally changed his mind."

"And the reason?" Xiao Zhan asked again as he was so immersed in the story making Wang Ruxen smile.

"My love was pregnant with our child, a proof of our love for each other. The moment she walked in  from the door where the bride should've been was the moment I threw my father away. I told myself that if he can't accept the one I want to love for the rest of my life then I'd rather run away with her. I couldn't live in shackles and under my father's command but her words changed it all. She melted my father's cold heart and after that she finally became my wife."

After hearing that Xiao Zhan bit his lips nervous for what he was about to asked. "I...Is your father the reason why you are accepting me so willingly?"

"Yes. I knew if I didn't accept you as my son's partner then he'd run away and hide from me and knowing how stubborn he is he'll make sure to never be found and I don't want that to happen. I learned from experience and I don't want my son to marry someone he doesn't love just for the sake of business matters. And I'm sure he would rather die than marry someone else."

"Well I'm actually glad you accept me and doesn't judge me base on my backround. I may not come from a wealthy family but my intention with coming into your son's life was pure and base on love not money. I don't actually care for money, all I want is for my love to be reciprocated. I want someone like Yibo who loves me even if I'm not complete" Xiao Zhan said referring to his missing leg.

It had actually been a trouble since back then before he met Yibo a few guyd had wanted to date him but when they found out about his leg they thought he was only a liability rather than a lover.

Safe to say those guys got a good beating from Chen and Lei as they are very protective of him. They treat him like their little brother.

"Well...I'm glad my son found someone worth his love. You prove to be worthy of him more than anyone else. Thank you for that. Thank you for slowly bringing the old Yibo back. He has truly change ever since he met you."

"It's not only Yibo who changed sir. He also changed me. I was scared back then you know, I thought I'll never get someone to love me. I actually acceoted that I'll grow old alone but he came into my life. He turned my simple life upside down but in a good way and I couldn't wish for anything else."

"Call me Dad. It's only fit since my son will never let a man like you go." That got Xiao Zhan blushing furiously. The thought of Yibo wanting to marry him and grow old together had his insides flipping with joy.
