Chapter 2
It's been a full week I have gotten used to the school and have tried my best to avoid Phaie, but that's kinda hard to do when she became the teachers aid for my math class which was third period right before lunch.
And what's worse is that even though my grades where good Math is what I sucked at the most.
I did make a friend though. Her name was Mia. She was in my math history and PE class. Of course I wasn't her only friend but I'm slowly getting out of my comfort zone. There was just one problem.
Phaie wouldn't leave me alone.
"Having trouble?" Phaie asked as she hovered over my shoulder.
I didn't want to admit that I was having trouble. But I really didn't want to fail Maths.
"Actually I don't get it." I told her nervously.
"Alright what don't you get?"
I could feel my cheeks grow red from embarrassment as I spoke nervously.
"A-All of it."
"Hmmm. Hey teach, could I take Aya to the library? It seems she's having a bit trouble."
"Huh? But why can't I stay-" The teacher suddenly interrupted me as he granted Phaie permission.
I reluctantly grabbed all my stuff and followed her to the library. We sat in the back corner near an open window. The breeze felt nice as the sun lightly kissed my skin. I almost wanted to fall asleep. Until Phaie sat right next to me rather then across from me.
"Right. I figured your having difficulty with math because it's not quiet enough for you. I mean when the students get down there free to talk with there friends making it hard for you to concentrate yes?"
I just shrugged as she spoke more and more.
"Right so with this Question you need to change the plus sign into a minus and the minus into a plus which will give you the correct answer."
My head started hurting. I really hated math. But I did what she told me to. In the end I was able to Finnish my homework before the bell rang.
"Thank you for helping me."
"Hang on now it's lunch right? I know the perfect spot for us to eat!"
"Actually I told Mia that I would eat with her today." That was a lie, I just didn't want to be alone with Phaie. However she didn't seem to take no for an answer as she dragged me to the schools roof making me extremely nervous. I mean the view was great and it felt good outside but being alone with Phaie was a no go. She didn't even give me time to grab my lunch.
"Look. I'm sorry I rushed you up here. And the reason I brought you up here is because I wanted to tell you something without being interrupted."
What could she possibly want to tell me? All I want to do is eat and get the rest of this day over with.
"I like you Aya. I want you to be my girlfriend."
"Huh?" Girlfriend? She means like dating and kissing right? But my sister told me to stay away from her plus she's a girl.
"I-I'm sorry. I-" she suddenly got into my personal space making my heart pound as her purple eyes looked into my own.
"You can't tell me no. Anyone would be happy to be with me. Besides even if we are both girls I promise you that I will make you fall in love with me. I mean sure it's not normal for two girls to date but it's not un heard of either."
Crap. What do I do what do I do? She basically told me I couldn't refuse! And then it hit me. My sister told me to keep away from her for this specific reason. Plus there's no way my mom would accept our relationship.
"T-Tell you what. If you can convince my mom to let me date you I will. But there's no way she will say yes because I'm only a freshman in high school and your a junior!" She smirked making me feel even more nervous.
"Alright fine. Will your mom be home today?"
"Yes?"
"Alright then. If I convince her to let you be my girlfriend then you have no choice but to be mine! Deal?"
"Yes. But There's no way your going to convince her." I didn't mean to say that out loud but I did. Me and my damn mouth.
"Will see about that."
After school I hitched a ride with Phaie feeling really nervous. I mean there's no way my mom would agree to this relationship right? I mean this was probably why my sister wanted me to keep away from her? I allowed Phaie to come in which is when my older brother greeted us. He was a senior this year.
"Hey sis! Phaie? Are you here to re consider my offer?" My brother asked in a flirtatious voice.
Don't tell me my brother had a thing for her?
"My answer is still no. And besides there's a more important reason why I'm here. Where is your mom?" Phaie asked with determination in her voice.
My brother rolled his eyes as he leaned up against the wall and pointed towards the kitchen.
"Your loss." He spoke with a huff.
Walking into the kitchen I could see my mom prepping for dinner.
"Mrs. Mae?" Phaie asked
"Hmm? Oh Phaie! I didn't know you where coming! It's been a while. And here I thought I wouldn't see you again after Anna graduated high school. What brings you over? Are you staying for dinner?"
Wait? They know each other?
"Actually I wanted to ask you something. It's about Aya."
"What about Aya?" My mom asked as she put the kitchen knife down while leaning up against the counter with a worried look.
"Um- you see, I- I fell in love with Aya the first time I saw her. And I was wondering if she could become my girlfriend?" I was surprised with how nervous Phaie spoke. She seemed so confident before.
My mom looked towards me then back at Phaie as she contemplated.
"Your two years older which is a bit concerning for me but I know your a good girl Phaie after all your mother and I are friends. I'm a bit surprised though that you would want to date Aya out of everyone else. But I guess if Aya is ok with you then I'm fine with it."
My mom looked at me questionably as Phaie spoke happily.
"This is great! You see I actually confessed to to Aya this afternoon on the school roof but she told me she wasn't sure how you felt about her dating another girl and told me that I had to convince you to let us date!"
My mom shrugged as she opened up the fridge.
"I mean I'm not against two girls dating, as long as they love each other and I expect you not to force anything my daughter wouldn't want to do."
"Of course I wouldn't! I'm just glad you accepted our relationship!"
Fuck me. And here I thought my mom would say no.
What am I going to tell my sister?
