I swore that was the last time but that was not the case because before I knew it the sun was coming up and Eros had fallen asleep against my shoulder.

Rubbing my face with my hands, I sighed. I had let myself go and my face turned red thinking about it.

Eros' arm was still securely wrapped around me with his face resting on my chest and while I didn't want to wake him, I had to start getting ready for my afternoon class so all I could do was try to not wake him up.

I must have sufficiently tired Eros out, which is not something easy to do, because the man didn't even stir when I finally got out of the bed.

I was almost finished getting ready when I heard a thud come from the room and I rushed back in there only to see the covers and Eros on the ground. Eros lower half was tangled in the sheets while the rest of him was exposed, a tired frown on his face as he stared at his current predicament.

"Why are you trying to get out of bed? You're clearly still tired" I said as I walked over to him to help him up.

"You're leaving..." Eros muttered sleepily, his lids barely open as he looked up at me.

"Yes, I have class" I said but Eros wasn't hearing any of it as he wrapped his arms around my neck, clinging to me as if he was trying to trap me.

"You can't leave me...I need help" He said lowly.

"Eros, you'll be fine with some rest. I can't stay this time" I said, taking the opportunity to lift him up and place him back in bed.

"Damn..." Eros grumbled.

"I'll be back later" I said in an attempt to console him but Eros just shook his head.

"Before you leave, I have to tell you something" he said and I raised a brow.

"What is it?" I asked and Eros motioned for me to come closer.

"Come" he said and albeit suspicious, I did so anyways as I moved my head in front of his.

Reaching up to put his hands on my cheeks, Eros leaned in a placed a kiss on my lips. It was innocent enough, Eros likely being too tired to pull one of his mischievous stunts and at the end of it, he gave me a smile.

"I love you" he said and just like that, I must have resembled that of putty in his hands as an indescribable happiness bloomed in my heart.

"I love you too" I said and Eros seemed content enough, letting go of me and burying himself back into the covers.

"Have a good day..." he said with his eyes fluttering shut and I decided to stay quiet so that he could rest.

The duality of this man was truly nothing to sneeze at.

I need to get out of here before I suddenly change my mind. I made haste to finish readying myself and I was soon out of the door, texting Harvey while walking.

The two of us met up and on the deathcycle, we made our way to the campus.

The first one of my friends that we managed to find was Cinder, her eyes narrowing when seeing Harvey and I approached.

"Oh? Look who's back from the dead" Cinder said.

"Uh yeah, I had a pretty serious cold" I said, not really wanting to lie but I honestly had no idea what else to say.

"It's been weeks, what kind of cold did you have that lasted that long?" She asked and Harvey just looked between the two of us.

"The flu is very serious Cinder, Cole's just had a weak immune system since he was a kid" Harvey defended.

"He's built like an ox, I highly doubt that" Cinder said and Harvey went to say something before deciding it'd be better if he didn't.

Letting out a sigh, Cinder just brushed it off.

"I'm only going to let you slide because it's better to give Jean a reason than nothing at all. He may be an idiot but he's not oblivious. You don't have to say if you're in some shit but at least give a proper heads up the next time you wanna disappear like that. We were very worried you know?" Cinder said.

"Sorry" was all I could say.

I felt like a child being scolded by their mother.

"It's alright, you seem fine enough. There may not be much we can do as regular people, but lending an ear is a good start. If you wanna talk you know I'm usually around. And you Harvey" Cinder pointed her manicured finger at Harvey, a disappointed look on her face.

"Do a better job at lying" She said and Harvey frowned.

"Shut up..." he grumbled.

It's really not a surprise that Cinder catches on to these things so quick, but I was also curious as to what sparked her suspicion. Maybe Harvey really did a horrible job at covering...

"You're very intuitive" I said and Cinder seemed to just brush it off as if it were nothing.

"Everyone's got something they're hiding, it's not so surprising that you're the same" she said.

"Unfortunately so" I sighed out.

Cinder perked up as if she'd suddenly remembered something.

"And speaking of intuition, that friend of yours has been worried sick about you. He broke his phone by accident at some point so he hasn't been able to get in contact with you I assume" Cinder said.

"How do you know all of this?" I asked.

"He asked me to relay his messages to you but I refused" She said and Harvey's jaw dropped.

"So heartless" he said.

"Sorry, I just don't like being the middle man" she said with a shrug.

"I should go find him" I said.

"Not before you talk to Jean. He's on his way here right now" She said as she pointed to Jean who, upon seeing us, began to dash at full speed towards us.

I made the decision to move out of the way before I could be tackled but unfortunately for Harvey, he didn't catch on and ended up taking the blow for me. Harvey had somehow managed to stay grounded as he caught Jean, the boy wrapping his legs around his waist and arms around his neck as he squeezed.

"Cooooleeee, I was so worried about you, I can't believe you got sick!! You have the heart of an ox so I found it hard to believe that someone like you could catch some stupid cold. Cinder and I missed you so much, it's not the same without you around" he rambled on, not even realizing that the person holding him was in fact, not me.

"Uh..." Harvey drawled and Jean's eyes suddenly opened. The boy moved away slightly and his face turned red when seeing Harvey's face.

"Oh, you're not Cole...haha, this is awkward" he said and got down from Harvey quickly, retreating behind his sister for comfort of some sort.

"It's fine" Harvey said with a sigh.

"Anyways, we're happy that you're finally back. We should probably get to class though, we're actually late" Cinder said as she pointed to her watch.

Ah...I couldn't believe we were actually late on the first day back.

Seeing as I didn't have the chance right now to speak with Myles, I just made a mental note to do so later.
