You were eternally haunted by nightmares, forever terrified of the monsters under your bed and the terrors that lived in your head. Even as a child, you'd found yourself waking up with a cold sweat, breath clawing out your lips, and fingers grasping the soft duvet of your bed for comfort.
You could never find the strength to scream, or to cry out. You would simply lay there in bed, rigid, cold, voice dying in your throat and eyes wide with fear. You would never scream or cry out because you were terrified of alerting the monsters to your presence.
You were afraid of letting the monster find you.
You lie in bed, wishing and praying this was all just a sick and twisted nightmare your terribly depraved mind was concocting. You hoped that the screams of your dying loved ones was just the wind or music from the radio. You'd beseeched whatever higher power there was for mercy, for the mercy that this was but a dream.
The sound of blood splattering everywhere and of innards being forcibly separated from the body permeate through your ears. You scramble under the covers, stifle your screams, and attempt to staunch the flow of your tears.
Like every calm before a storm, there is a deathly calm. Your hushed breaths and choked gasps are the only thing that you can hear before you hear the inexplicable sound of your door slowly creaking open. You stay completely still, you can hear Allen's footsteps on your floor and you hold your breath.
It happens so suddenly, you barely have time to register what has happened. Allen rips the duvet off of you and crushes you in a tight embrace- a viper's hug. His lips seek yours and once he does find it, he traps you in a rough domineering kiss.
"Good morning, dollface," he hisses, "did you sleep well?"
You were trapped in a nightmare, with no escape.
