Chapter 4
Draco couldn't swing his head around it. It pestered him like a spreading rash. How could he be slowly ,yet rapidly, falling for Hermione Jean Granger?! It was ridiculous. Not him. Not a Malfoy. He couldn't. He knew he shouldn't be thinking such attentional thoughts about a Gryffindor, but Draco couldn't stop his heart pounding powerfully in his chest whenever he caught a glimpse of the beautiful girl. It felt like everything froze when his robes met hers. Her chocolate brown eyes seemed to get more eclipsing every time he saw them. Little did Draco know, Hermione had been thinking similar thoughts about his silvery grey eyes. Always sinking her in. Dragging her into an amused gaze as she began to drown more and more into his beautiful eyes.
Both thinking what this magnificently strange feeling was.
No. No Hermione, you must not. Not a Slytherin! A voice shrieked in her head. Oh but I will a dreamy love struck voice boomed, over powering the negative voice in the back of Hermione's head.
Not Granger. Of all girls. You had to fall for Granger. And not just fall; but get her pregnant! You're digging yourself in too deep! A voice screamed in Draco's mind.
Was he really digging himself in too deep? By staying by Hermione while she struggled with a mistake he had made, had he dug himself a deeper hole?
Sometimes the right things feel like the wrong things Draco thought to himself. He sighed and stumbled into the Slytherin common room.
"There you are!" Pansy said. "Here I am" replied Draco with sarcasm leaking in his tone.
"I need some help." Pansy said in distress. Draco must of looked confused as she began to explain.
"I must interview Granger. To see if she's fit for you." Pansy said. "And how does my assistance come into this??" Draco asked. He had no idea what type of part he had to play in this. "Well, tell her to meet me at the Three Broomstick's next Saturday" Pansy grinned. "Besides' if this girl thinks she can get in between us-" She begun. "Pansy, that's really not the case" Draco laughed.
Pansy slightly nodded.
"Oh and Weaslette can also join us" Pansy smirked. Draco Still had no idea why he had to go invite the girls to the gathering. Pansy was gifted two legs to use. Why couldn't she walk all the way there to ask them? Strange creatures women are. Draco thought before leaving to find Hermione and Ginny.
He strolled along the castle hallways.
"Malfoy?!"
Draco spun on his heels to face the caller.
"Potter?!"
Potter stood alone in the hallway. The hallway suddenly seemed a lot smaller.
"I thought you went off to become an Auror?" Sneered Draco.
"Well, I had. But I decided my education was more important." Harry said awkwardly. Harry hadn't wanted trouble with Malfoy this year.
Draco nodded his head. Both boys were rather unsure of what subject they should say next.
"I've got better things to do; Potter, I'll be needing the Gryiffindor common room password." Draco smirked. "For?" Was all Harry could say. "Didn't mummy never tell you to keep to you're own?" Draco snarled. He was suddenly sick of Potter's attitude. If he needed to get in, he certainly did not need questioning from someone like Harry Potter.
"Fine! Its Lumos" Harry replied.
Merlin. What a stupid password. Draco thought.
Lumos', really?? Draco couldn't stop a grin break out across his pale, oval shaped face.
He raced to the common room and muttered the stupid password.
"Granger, Weaslette!" He called out. The two females looked up to see whom was calling them.
"Pansy wants to invite you both to the Three Broomstick's on uh Saturday" Draco said.
"Okay, that sounds great" Ginny smiled. Hermione gave Draco a curnt nod. Which he returned with a small smile on his face.
Draco turned to leave, only to bump into Ron.
"Malfoy! Whatcha' doing in here?" Ron asked with confussion written all over his face.
Before Draco could open his mouth, Hermione spoke. "I let him in. Today, I was partnered with his in Herbology. He wanted to discuss the project we were assigned." She spoke calmly and was a fluent liar. Probably from hanging about with Potter and Weasl for all those years.
Hermione was very pale and had dark circles under her eyes. She was frail looking in her face. She looked ill.
"Granger, you're not looking you're best." Draco said in a fake sneer. Hermione nodded and played along. She turned out to be a surprisingly good actress."And you why Malfoy?" She held her hands on her hips fiercely.
"I'll take you to Madam Pompfry if you'd like" Ginny suggested. Ginny was smart enough to get the drift. She was clever. Ginny knew what to do.
"I'll leave you all to it." Draco nodded slightly amused at how his, Hermione and Ginny's little performance had got unnoticed. It was funny how little Weasl-Bee picked up. Stupid Ass. Draco thought.
Draco was smugly pleased that he had outwitted Ron.
