Chapter 10
Hermione had barely slept. The baby was kicking her for most of the night. Hermione had decided Sunset was an appropriate pet name for her baby.
Finally, Saturday. The day everyone can relax and leave home til Sunday. Hermione lay in the double bed she shared with Draco. He sleepily reached over and placed his hand on the bump. Draco smiled with his eyes closed. He rested his hand on Hermione's bump, allowing his baby to softly kick his hand.
The two lay in the bed together. Hermione slowly drifting back to sleep. After two minutes, the Gryiffindor was up again. She had to use to bathroom. Again. She honestly thought this baby would be the death of her.
When she climbed back into the bed ,she lay facing Draco.
"Ouch" Hermione winched. "You okay?" Draco asked. Hermione nodded faintly. "W-would you talk to her? She seems to like you're voice." Hermione asked awkwardly. Draco nodded. Happy at the fact that he was connected to this baby.
He once again placed his hand on Hermione's stomach. "Hey baby girl, its me, Daddy. Could you stop giving Mommy a hard time? She's up to the loo every ten minutes. Relax in there" Draco laughed. It felt enchanting to be talking to an unborn baby.
Hermione smiled. The kicking stoped. Hermione closed her eyes. She began to slowly fall into a slumber. Draco watched as she drifted off and once she was asleep, he crept quietly out of the room. He charmed himself into clean clothes. Smiling, he left the flat.
Entering the Great Hall, he spotted Pansy. Most people were up and tucking into their morning meal.
"Morning" Draco addressed his mates. "Hey. How's the baby?" Pansy asked. "Jumpy" Draco grinned. The blond couldn't help but feel amused when none of his mates got the reference. Well none of them are a soon to be parent Draco thought. It felt incredible being able to say he was about to be a Dad in the space of a few months time. "Jumpy, eh?" Marcus asked. Draco nodded and swallowed his pumpkin juice. "Shes kicking like mad" Draco grinned. "She!!" Pansy shrieked. Draco nodded. How could he have forgotten to tell Pansy? "Did you feel a kick yet?" Pansy asked. Draco nodded. Pansy's eyes welled with tears. "That must of been magical." Pansy wiped her eyes and sniffed.
"It was" Draco remembered the feeling of his child kicking against the palm of his hand. "How's Hermione doing?" Goyle asked with his mouth half full with toast.
"Alright ,I guess. The baby's been kicking a lot lately. So I assume that hurts??" Draco said the last part with unsureity. "Well of course it hurts!" Pansy said. ''If you doing even know if it hurts, then image you at the real birth" Marcus joked. "Oh, I'm not going." Draco informed him. Marcus' eyes widened. "You're not going to the actual birth?!" His mouth dropped open. Draco shook his head. "Well its your choice I guess, but you did do this to Hermione so I don't know why you aren't going" Marcus muttered the last part. But it hadn't gone unheard.
Yeah, Draco knew he had done this to Hermione. But he hasn't really realized or had the time to think about it fully. Was Hermione really going to be in that much pain and suffering because of him?
"Marcus! You're scaring him." Pansy muttered to her fellow Slytherin. "Oh. Sorry mate, didn't mean to" Marcus apologized. Draco just nodded his head, not looking up from his plate.
