Junaid's POV

She kept walking behind me till we got to FSLT, it was the closest shield to take cover before when head out for the next so we found it more of a choice.

Upon getting there, luckily the theatre was somewhat empty as no classes where being held at the moment, but some students scattered around as they sat doing Allah knows what.

I gestured for her to follow me up to the last seats at the middle row which she did. We took to our sits with an empty seat in between.
After having sitted, I cleared my throat as I started.

No one is forcing you to use the hijab Aa'yat, but there are certain things you need to know.

Hijab is obligatory upon every adult Muslim woman. It must cover her entire body except for the face and hands; Hanafi scholars permit uncovering the feet.

The evidence for the obligation of hijab in this manner is mentioned in the Hadith narrated by A'isha (May Allah be pleased with her) in which she said that 'Asmaa' bint Abu Bakr entered upon the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) while wearing transparent garments.

He turned his face away and said;
"O Asmaa'! If a woman reaches menarche nothing should be seen of her body except this and this and he pointed to his face and hands" [reported by at-Tabarani].

Abu Dawud reported this Hadith in the words, "O Asmaa'! If a woman has reached puberty nothing should be seen of her body except this and this, and he pointed to his face and hands".

This meaning is mentioned by Allah in Surat An-Nur;
They should let their headscarves fall to cover their necklines. [An-Nur:31].

Allah also says in Surat al-Ahzab,
O prophet, tell your wives, your daughters, and women believers to make their outer garments hang low over them. That is more suitable that they will be known and not abused. And ever is Allah forgiving and Merciful. (Al-Ahzab:59)

     There is also a ruling.
Based on this, Hijab in Islam is not considered one of the characteristics to distinguish a Muslim woman; rather, it is a means to fulfilling Allah's command.

Allah says; (and let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And to repent to Allah, all of you, o believers, that you may be successful). [Quran 24:32].

The feet of a woman are part of her Awrah (parts of the body that Islam mandates to be covered). They should be covered from the sight of all non-mahram men, according to the consensus of all the Muslim Scholar.

Well, Allah knows best. I concluded.

So what's your say on this??? I queried.

Well for now, I have nothing to say. This is all new to me Junaid, I think I have to think about it. She said in defeat.

Please do Aa'yat. I bet you would look so beautiful on hijab. He assured positively with a smile.

So I am not now huh??? She asked disapointedly.

Well, Uhmmmm I am not in any place to be telling you that because I hardly check you out. It's not that ideal.

Why??? Because I am not your type??? She questioned with a frown.

Don't frown, Always smile. Smiling is sunnah. I cheered.

How can I smile when you just said you hardly checked me out. While I on the other hand keeps staring at you like it is the only thing I am good at. She exhaled.

That's why you should lower your gaze Aa'yat. That is another thing you have to do.

I can't touch and feel what I like, and now I can't stare at it huh??? Even from Afar???? Oh c'mon.... She interrupted widely.

Listen Aa'yat, this isnt yours only to do but I included. I lower my gaze too that was why I didnt check you out.

Just listen to this;

Tell believing men to lower their gaze, from what is unlawful for them to look at (min [of min absārihim, ‘their gaze’] is extra) and to guard their private parts, from doing with them what is unlawful [for them to do]. That is purer, in other words, better, for them. Truly God is Aware of what they do, with their gazes and private parts, and He will requite them for it.

Abbas - Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘AbbâsAllah then commanded them to protect their gaze and chastity, saying: (Tell the believing men) O Muhammad (to lower their gaze) from that which is unlawful (and be modest) and also refrain from unlawful sexual intercourse. (That) protecting their gaze and chastity (is purer for them) is better and more akin to righteousness as far as they are concerned. (Lo! Allah is Aware of what they do) of good and evil.

Asrar - Kashf Al-Asrar Say to the faithful that they cast down their eyes. That is, the eyes of the heads from forbidden things and the eyes of the hearts from everything other than Him.

He commands the faithful to turn the eyes of the head away from forbidden things and the eye of the secret core from everything less than the Real. They should throw the dust of nonbeing into the eyes of their own being, and from the tablet of their existence they should read out reproach to the deceiving soul.

Jalal - Al-Jalalayn Tell believing men to lower their gaze, from what is unlawful for them to look at (min [of min absārihim, ‘their gaze’] is extra) and to guard their private parts, from doing with them what is unlawful [for them to do]. That is purer, in other words, better, for them. Truly God is Aware of what they do, with their gazes and private parts, and He will requite them for it.

Kathir - Ibn Al Kathir«
(Beware of sitting in the streets.) They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have no alternative but to sit in the streets to converse with one another.''

The Messenger of Allah said:«إِنْ أَبَيْتُمْ فَأَعْطُوا الطَّرِيقَ حَقَّهُ»
(If you insist, then give the street its rights.) They asked, "What are the rights of the street, O Messenger of Allah'' He said,
«غَضُّ الْبَصَرِ، وَكَفُّ الْأَذَى، وَرَدُّ السَّلَامِ، وَالْأَمْرُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ، وَالنَّهْيُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ»
(Lower your gaze, return the greeting of Salam, enjoin what is good and forbid what is evil.) Abu Al-Qasim Al-Baghawi recorded that Abu Umamah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah say:

(Guarantee me six things and I will guarantee you Paradise: when any one of you speaks, he should not lie; if he is entrusted with something, he should not betray that trust; if he makes a promise, he should not break it; lower your gaze; restrain your hands; and protect your private parts.) Since looking provokes the heart to evil, Allah commanded (the believers) to protect their private parts just as he commanded them to protect their gaze which can lead to that. So he said:

(Tell the believing men to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts.) Sometimes protecting the private parts may involve keeping them from committing Zina, as Allah says

(And those who guard their chastity) 23:5. Sometimes it may involve not looking at certain things, as in the Hadith in Musnad Ahmad and the Sunan:

«احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ زَوْجَتِكَ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ»
(Guard your private parts except from your wife and those whom your right hands possess.) (That is purer for them.) means, it is purer for their hearts and better for their commitment to religion, as it was said: Whoever protects his gaze, Allah will illuminate his understanding, or his heart.

(Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do.)

This is like the Ayah :يَعْلَمُ خَآئِنَةَ الاٌّعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِى الصُّدُورُ
(Allah knows the fraud of the eyes and all that the breasts conceal.) 40:19 In the Sahih it is recorded that Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Messenger of Allah said:

(The son of Adam has his share of Zina decreed for him, and he will commit that which has been decreed. The Zina of the eyes is looking; the Zina of the tongue is speaking; the Zina of the ears is listening; the Zina of the hands is striking; and the Zina of the feet is walking. The soul wishes and desires, and the private parts confirm or deny that.) It was recorded by Al-Bukhari without a complete chain. Muslim recorded a similar report with a different chain of narration. Many of the Salaf said, "They used to forbid men from staring at beardless handsome boys. ''

I hope you understand now Aa'yat that just me staring at you vividly, widely and closely can lead to something else and the same also relates to you. I finalized.

Yes Junaid, I totally understand. Thank you so much for making me understand. She thanked.
This are all so new and sudden to me but I would try my possible best to think them through. She added

May Allah Subhanahu watahala help you and guide you through the right path. Ameen we both chorused as she checked  her wrist watch in quest for the time.

It's fifteen minutes to the next class I think we should take our leave now. She called.

Yes that is true. I answered as we stood to leave with few reasonable metres away from each other.

We got to the front of the class in no time and took a quick peep in through the side of the doors.

The lecturer wasn't there yet so I took some minutes to bid her farewell before entering the class.

Junaid! She called back and I reversed my steps.

It would be mid semester next weekend and after that would be preparations for tests and exams right? She queried and I answered with a yes nod.

I want you to be my study partner okay please... Don't say No. I promise to not overstep my boundaries. I promise to Lower my gaze and all. I am new in the department and I really need to be introduced to some things, plus you can also keep putting me through somethings I don't know concerning how I am supposed to behave and all. So please don't say No. She let out all in one breath.

Woah relax sis, I smiled. All the teachings are in the Hadith and the Qur'an which I would expanciate widely to you soon enough.

Well about being study partners, Let's see how things turn out to be In Sha Allah. I look forward to studying with you though. I waved with a smile as I went in.

So is that a yes??? OMG thank you!.. I heard her voice echo happily as I walked away.

See you next time Allah's willing💕❤️🌹
