3. My green haired boy.

*Kim Taehyung OS*

Note : This is sort of like a spin-off from my book, It began at a bookstore. The female lead is from the book, and the timeline is during the GRAMMYs. ( 11.02.2019)

It was way past midnight when the boys got back to their hotel. Paparazzi still tailed them, fan site after fan site, chased them with intent, but were left behind in the dust of the sheer black Hyundai Palisades. In one, Namjoon and Jin couldn't have enough of teasing Jungkook about his little emo moment during Dolly Parton's performance. Yoongi tried to pitch in and be the supportive hyung, but soon enough ended up chuckling at the sight of the boy's reddening face. In the other beast of a car, Hoseok was showing Jimin all the video updates and pictures on the bird app, while Taehyung smiled at their little interaction, sneaking little peaks of the phone's screen over Jimin's shoulder.

It had been an amazing night, another one of those nights that they kept fervently dreaming about, until like the rest of their many dreams, it came true as well. Taehyung thought to himself as he stared out the window, watching the streetlamps flood them with a frame of light, every time they passed underneath one:

Their lives felt like this.

A flood of victories, one after the other, coming right at them. Each new one making them forget the short but trying darkness that they had to go through, before they got to this side. It was difficult, painful almost, but then again. It truly was a relief that they were seven. It truly was a relief that they had each other's backs no matter what.

A single tear escaped his eye, like a reflex, and he brushed it away. But it was a smile that was on his face as he thought about that little extra support he'd been blessed with, for some time now. There was fog on the windows and he began to trace silhouettes on it. He drew a moon, a full one, and underneath it a skeleton tree. He drew a single smudge of what he imagined to be a lonely looking bird.

He smiled, and pressed another smudge right next to it, another lonely bird. And suddenly the drawing didn't feel so lonesome anymore. But, something still seemed to be missing, Taehyung scrunched his eyebrows as he took it in. The birds weren't sat very close to each other, no, but that was how it was. The trees weren't supposed to bloom, because then the birds wouldn't have anything to be sad about.

What could it be?

And that's when it struck him. He leaned towards the window, and before the building up fog could spoil the little doodle, he drew a messy looking rectangle right in between the two birds. A letter. The reason why he was no longer a lonely bird in a park, crying to the Moon. The reason why the deserted playground now looked like their own little Paradise.

The boys couldn't allow the excitement dissipate before they let ARMY know how magical of a night they had experienced. So, they gathered in Namjoon's room to do a Vlive, as was promised by them right before they left for the Grammys. ARMY and BTS. A whole other world, far away from the brute and sadness and evil of this world. This was a family and this love was yeongwonhi.

They were all extremely tired but sleep could wait. They settled in the couch, all comfortable, while the app loaded. The portal had only just been activated and even before they could each say their greetings, messages and stickers began to crowd over the comments section. Their happiness only doubled at the sight of it.

They ended up doing two live sessions, seeing that the app crashed the first time around. The seven men couldn't be prouder of AAMI. And they also couldn't have enough of talking to them so they opened a new portal and along with it some champagne, which was Tae's idea of course. Flutes clinked together as their eyes crinkled into the happiest smiles, and they proposed a toast to a future where ARMY and BTS will not only be the ones holding a Grammy, but also owning it. After that goodbyes were said and goodnights were exchanged as each of them returned to their own rooms.

Taehyung changed into something more comfortable but he still wasn't ready to sleep. From the absolute silence in the other rooms, he appeared to be the only one awake. Its not that he wasn't tired, but there was one more live he needed to do on his own. But for that he had to wait for another hour. These time zones were shitty business.

He logged onto the official account on Twitter and checked out all the hype that was going on. Several hashtags about them were trending, and he thought he saw something to do with his hair too. Chuckling to himself, he decided to post one last video before resorting to his phone and bed. He added a shushing emoji for emphasis about the quite house, err, hotel room-hold. Satisfied, he logged out. But right before he could, a retweet caught his attention, but more than that, the familiar red seal did and he decided to drop in on their Paradise alone.

No Monday had ever annoyed Grace as much as this present one did. Firstly, there was the matter of the Grammys streaming at the exact same time that she had to be working during. Secondly, she missed out on her coffee since she stayed up late working on her backlogs and thirdly, the GRAMMYS! Her group chats were filling up with updates, and all she could do was enable the download option and how that all the important stuff gets downloaded for her to watch later.

What nagged her more was that her Twitter was acting weird, refusing to let her tweet anything, or send or receive messages. The last message she sent was last night. The received message sat there in her chat box looking forlorn and ignored and from the number of times she'd taken her phone out to stare at it, one would think it would get sent by the electricity that shot out of her piercing gaze.

Grace wanted to cry halfway through the day. She'd broken a brand-new stock of tonics and very nearly prescribed the wrong medicines for an emergency case. She was a mess. All she had eyes for, were her phone and the round clock that sat on the opposite wall, mocking her with its ticking hands.

Duty hours had over an hour left so it could end, but Grace had spent the last ounce of her patience on trying to load the most recent BTS post, which was a video and more obviously, one from him, but the stupid bird app just wouldn't listen. She waited till 4 o clock before she rang for one of her junior doctors, and asked him to take over for an hour and rushed out without even an explanation.

Once she was sat inside her car, away from all the interruptions, she took out her phone and restarted it, mumbling under her breath for the network to work better. It came back on, and the bars were all up. She didn't waste any time loading messages, and scrolled over to the contact she wanted and gave a sound tap on the video call button, with more force than she intended to give.

It only took two rings, or maybe one and a half, before her face minimised to one corner and a bespectacled boy, stared back at her, with his lips apart in shock but almost curving into a smile. His hair flopped into his face and Grace couldn't help how he stole her breath away with just one look.

"Hello, green haired boy."

"My little birdy, I've been waiting for you."

I would have written an OT7 excerpt for the 6th anniversary but I've been incapacitated and was raiding my laptop when I found this one and well, it just seemed right. Hope you like.
