2. Paper Bunnies. (Part 1)
*BTS × Hogwarts Jeon Jungkook OS*
Dedicated to DreamerDia the evil Penguin of my life, who eats bunnies for breakfast. Save for Jungoo who, she is head over heels in love with.
A headache was starting at the back of my head, from having been engrossed in conjuring the perfect Levitating Crest, since morning.
"It has to be better than whatever contraption Jungkook has planned," I muttered under my breath, while twisting my wand at the wooden crest.
"Ugh! How does that boy always invade my thoughts?!" I try to get back on the same level of concentration. But the colours don't make the right shade of blue. And the Levitation seems a bit wobbly, just like my knees became the other day, during that incident with Jungkook.
"Aghhh!!" I yell in frustration. And the crest falls onto my bed. I clutch my head and sit there awhile, when there comes a knock on the door.
"Come in, it's open." Maybe Sophie had a little luck with catching her broom, after the getaway act it had pulled earlier. She'd left her bed unmade in the haste she was in, so it could also be one of the house elves attending to their duties.
I looked up when I didn't hear any footsteps. Elves are known for their stealth, but the door remained shut. I could still see a silhouette shuffling on the other side.
I got off my bed, pushed aside the curtains, and went over to the door.
"I said it's-" there was a pop and whoever had been standing there, a moment ago, disappeared. There wasn't a single soul out in the circular hallway. I leaned over the banister, overlooking the common room. Save for Jack Barns, curled up in one of the arm chairs, it was empty.
"That's weird," I turned to go back to my room, when I stepped on something that crunched under my foot. A chocolate wrapper? I picked it up. There was something scribbled on the dark blue, transparent, wrapping paper. But before I could comprehend what it was, it fluttered out of my hand. Just before it touched the floor, it began to fold into itself, taking the shape of a little bunny with a fluffy tail.
I watched on as the bunny ran about in tight circles, until it noticed me. When it did, it came at me in full speed, causing me to back up. I didn't have my wand on me to defend myself either. Yeah I know it's only a bunny, and Peter Pettigrew was only a rat. You get me?
Just before it could crash into my foot, the bunny halted, tilting it's glittering ears up and down. It cocked it's head from side to side, and then scurried off, in the opposite direction. It went a little ways, before stopping and turning back at me.
"You…do you want me to follow?" It nodded it's head excitedly, repeating the gesture again. It scampered down the steps, and I followed this time. It went sniffing bookshelf after bookshelf. I expected it to stop at any one of them, but it didn't.
"Do you even know where you're going, Bunny? This better not be a prank." Jack Barns looked up from his book, and saw my crazy dance from shelf to shelf.
I waved at him to ignore me and he did. He had his priorities straight.
The little animated inanimate finally stopped at a suit of armour, decorated in house colours and also, for some reason, had a tiara perched on top of its helmet.
The bunny bounded up the armour, all the way up, and roosted right on top of the tiara, nibbled at it repeatedly and then looked at me.
"You want me to take it?" It squeaked abruptly and I jumped. Whoever cast this spell was definitely a Ravenclaw. It was exemplary. What with the folds in its ears, to the beady eyes, the wiggling nose and ofcourse, the squeak.
"Okay, okay. I'm taking it." I reached up on my tiptoe and grabbed the tiara. The moment I took it down, the little mammal hopped off the helmet and onto my head.
"Whoa!! Don't poop on me now!" I wouldn't be surprised if it did, Ravenclaws were after all known for their ingenuity. Instead it just hopped around in circles on my head and let out another loud squeak. This one received an angry "Shhhh!' from Jack.
"Okay. I'll put it on. Calm your fur." I whispered, just to be safe, and placed the tiara on my head. It felt a little warm, and I considered taking it off, but then I noticed my slightly blurred reflection on the polished armour.
The tiara was glowing now, it had only seemed like an imitation in my hand. But now the entire band was shimmering gold, while the crown of it was lit up in a gorgeous blue. Impeccable magic.
"Wow," I breathed, unable to take my eyes off of it. I would have loved to stand and stare at it for longer, but my furry friend seemed to have more to show me. After one last game of hopscotch on my cranium, it jumped off and swooped into the little gap between the neck of the helmet.
"Hey!" I tried to pry my fingers through the space, when all of a sudden the statue began to shift. It lifted its left arm in a stop signal, and extended the right arm towards me, fist closed.
I looked at the fist and then back up at the armour. It didn't move any further. What now!? The curiosity was excruciating and the voiceless ornament seemed to be out of clues.
I tried to open it's fist forcefully, everytime I managed to stretch out one finger, the other closed. There was something enclosed in it, that probably showed the way that the little bunny took.
"Ugh! Tell me what I need to do, you stupid decoration!"
Jack heard me yell, and turned in my direction, from where he was replacing his book back on the shelf. He sauntered over, and stood there looking up at the armour, analysing it. He then rewarded me with an eye roll, slapped a hand over the hand of the armour that was palm up and casually walked off in the direction of the dorms. A high five?!
The hand that was fisted slowly unfurled, revealing a little grey gift box, wrapped in a golden ribbon.
