Chapter 13

"Kinn...the adoption agency is moving us to another city, it seems that there is a couple who wants to take us in as their foster kids" Porsche's voice cracked as he informed me about it.

The week had been terrible for all of us, especially for Porsche who had lost his parents in a car accident earlier in the week.
Vegas' parents too fell into the hands of death and there was nothing any of us could do. His mother had taken care of all of us brothers ever since our childhood and I was the one that had been the most pampered by her since I was the closest to Mae and had taken the biggest hit upon her death.

Even though I did not get much affected by uncle's death, aunty's death had a significant impact on me. The loss of a second mother had broken me apart completely. The bond that we brothers had, got severed almost instantly as well and all I could do was watch the family break into pieces helplessly.

"I-..." A drop of tear escaped from his eyes.

"I am sorry kinn, I think we should break up, I want to live for Chay now, give him all of my time and make sure he grows up to become a good person. With Mae and Phaw not around anymore, Chay is my priority now. I am really sorr-..." He failed to continue his sentence and broke down into tears.

I was in loss for words, his words were like thunder to me and no matter how much I tried to, I couldn't react. My body didn't move at all and all I could do was pat his arm.

"It's alright. Don't cry" I mouthed even though it wasn't. I wanted to stop him, hold him close to me and never let him go but I had to. It was what he wished...so I had to fulfill it, afterall how could I ever ignore his wishes?

"Take care my love" I whispered as I hugged him for one last time. I felt him shivering in my arms which made me tighten my embrace around him in an attempt to make him feel safe and assure him that he could always turn back to me, his forever home.

But the moment didn't last for long, for he could no longer bear it and pushing me, ran away from me as fast as he could. Seeing him run away I immediately wanted to run after him and stop him from going away but I held myself back. The tears that had stopped for a moment upon seeing him infront of me broke loose and started flowing again.

I collapsed on the ground, crying bitterly in the memory of my sweet lover with no one to comfort me.

Ah what would I not give to feel his warmth, his care again but perhaps this is how our story is supposed to end.
I thought to myself and scoffed bitterly at how comical and cruel our fates were to bring us, two complete strangers together and then wreck our peaceful and sweet bond completely.

I came back to my desolate room a while later but the haunting loneliness did not allow me to rest even for a single moment.
There was a work file lying on the table, it was of a small project that I was supposed to handle but had put off the work for later. However, I snatched the file and immediately opened it to immerse myself in the work since that was the only possible get away I could think of.

And thus I engrossed myself in work completely, days after days, nights after nights, my years were filled my work and work. Aside from my education, everytime I had nothing else to do, I worked relentlessly to benefit the company in any way I could.
Soon enough as I was still completing my formal education, I found my schedules filled with client meetings, business parties, auctions and a number of other things that were more than enough to keep me occupied.

6 years later:

It was a fine Sunday morning when I still had a little free time before starting my busy schedule and owing to my disinterest in eating the same regular food at home, I came out to a small shop a little far from home to eat something different than the usual.

It didn't take much time for me to decide what I wanted and the server politely asked me to sit down while waiting.

"Sir we would call you once your order is ready" She said in a polite tone and I smiled back at her as a part of the basic etiquette.

POV Ends.

Third person POV:

Even though Kinn was completely lost in his own thoughts, he thankfully noticed his name being called.
He walked up to the counter and after picking up his food, came back to the place he was previously sitting at.

He had just randomly ordered a dish from the menu that he had no idea about since he wanted to experiment a little with his food but still hoped for it to taste good.

"It sure looks appetizing" He muttered to himself.

At the counter:

"Hey, is my order ready?" A young man in his early twenties asked.

"Yes sir..." The server said and turned to give him his order but turned back again with a confused expression. She looked around for a few seconds and all of a sudden her face lit up as her eyes fell on a particular table.

He turned back to see who she was looking back at and saw a man sitting and scrolling through his phone with his head hung low because of which he couldn't take a look at his face.

"I apologise...it looks like that customer accidentally took your order. Would you mind taking this and exchanging the orders with him please?" She politely asked and the young man agreed.

He walked towards the table and after setting the tray down, tried to get the attention of the man infront of him.

"Um...excuse me" He said making kinn look up.

And the moment Kinn looked up, he lost his breath, his gaze was fixated on the handsome man standing right infront of him and his voice denied to emerge from his throat.

"Porsche" He mouthed and without a single thought more, abruptly got up from his seat and hugged Porsche as tightly as he could, as if he was afraid that Porsche would disappear the moment he lets him go.

"Kinn" Porsche whispered as he hugged him back.

"How have you been in all these years?" Kinn asked as he cupped Porsche's face after breaking the hug.

"Not fine without you." Porsche had tears in his eyes. Kinn kissed his forehead out of happiness and a trail of tears streamed down their eyes.

"You have no idea how much I missed you" Kinn whispered.

"It was terrible living without you" Porsche whispered back as they again embraced each other to fill for all the lost years.

"When did you come back?" Kinn asked as they sat down beside each other.

"Just a few days ago. I wanted to contact you but couldn't bring myself to do it." Porsche looked remorseful which made kinn keep his hand on top of Porsche's to reassure him.

"Why?" His eyebrows furrowed.

"Isn't it obvious? I left you when you needed me the most, didn't contact you even once in all these years and didn't even know if you had a new partner or not." Porsche elucidated while holding back his tears.

"You had a reason for doing everything you did, so no need to feel bad baby, we had our own circumstances to deal with, afterall I wasn't the only one whose life had turned into a mess." Kinn said softly as he caressed Porsche's hair.

"And as for having a partner...I could never bring myself to love anyone except you..." He continued.

Upon not being able to hold himself back anymore, Porsche again leaned in for a hug followed by a kiss on his hand.

"Should we go home?" Kinn suggested but Porsche didn't seem to share the feelings.

"Uh...kinn...I actually have somewhere to be in the afternoon, how about we meet in the evening? There's a bar around the corner, should we meet there?" Porsche presented an alternative to which Kinn agreed immediately.
And After talking for a while more, both of them finally bid each other a goodbye but not before promising to meet in the evening to catch up on each other's life. They were finally going to be together again after all the years of wretched separation.
