**Welcome to the wedding ceremony of our beloved Aditya and Meghna!!!**

4 hours before the wedding

At Meghna's house

Meghna sat in her room dressed up in a beautiful red Kanjivaram saree and hair made up beautifully with fragrant mogra flowers, all set for the Chuda ceremony.

She stood in front of the mirror and was shocked to see a beautiful south indian style dressed up bride.

She chuckled at the thought of South Indian style dressed up bride waiting for the chuda ceremony which was authentic North Indian wedding ritual.

After a while all her cousins along with sakshi and shruthi came in dressed all Gujurati and Rajshtani style.

Meghna stood there shocked..

Sakshi chuckled at her reaction.

Meghna finally came out of her trance and said

"Are you sure this isn't a fancy dress competition and my wedding. "

All the girls laughed at her and Meghna glared at them and said

"I hope you don't get confused about the rituals. Sakshi we could have a simple wedding and you could have worn different attires why have an extensive whole india wedding for it"

Sakshi glared at her and said

"You are lucky you are a bride otherwise you would have been hit by me till now..don't worry all the rituals are mostly same just two, three are different than usual so that we will manage don't stress yourself and ruin your make up"

Then for a while they all teased her about her wedding and the upcoming night and then took her towards the living room were the chuda ceremony was going to take place.

Meghna sat on a chair in the middle of the room. Then her married sisters and aunts held a dupatta over her head and then her tilak was done.

Then she was asked to close her eyes and her mama and mami's (maternal uncle and aunts) came forward and washed the chuda with milk and rose water.

After applying tilak to the chuda her mamas placed the chuda on her hand. And then all her mamis tied the kalira on her hand.

And after all this Nisha tied a soft musleen cloth over her chuda.

As it is considered bad for the bride to look at it before the wedding.

After this Aditya's mom came forward and did Meghna's tilak and gave her, her wedding lehenga.

After this sakshi, shruthi and supriya left as they had to reach home for Aditya's sehra ceremony.

After the chuda ceremony all of them went to the temple. There the Ganesh pujan was done. Meghna and her parents did aarti of Lord Ganesha and then Meghna then took everybody's blessing and then Meghna's family left for the hall for welcoming the Baraat.

At Aditya's house

Aditya was ready in a off white sherwani with red work on it and was impatiently waiting for his sisters and mom to come back home for the sehra ceremony.

After Sakshi, Shruthi and Supriya returned from Meghna's house, Aditya's Sehra ceremony was started.

Aditya's mama came forward and did Aditya's tilak and placed the Sehra over Aditya's head.

After that Ganesh pujan was done and Aditya took blessings from his elders and then they all went down stairs to join the awaiting Baraat.

Meghna's jiju was the one who had come to take the Baraat to the wedding venue. As it was a ritual that a male member invites the baraatis and accompanies them to the wedding venue.

As soon as Aditya rode the horse along with his best man (the youngest family member..prefererably around 6 to 8 yrs of age) all his cousins along with Sakshi and Shruthi stood in front of the horse obstructing its way saying that they will not leave until they get their Negh.

Aditya tried to avoid them with the help of Sumeet and Rohan but had to give them Negh as they were getting late.

At the wedding hall

Swagat and Toran ceremony!!

A wearing enthusiastic Baraat entered the compund of the wedding venue.

Meghna's brothers helped Aditya get down from the horse and then brought him in front of Meghna's mother for the tilak.

Meghna's mother did his tilak and arti and then Meghna's father and uncle welcomed all the male members of Aditya's family with the garland and Meghna's mother and aunts welcomed all the female members with Gajras(flower garland worn as head gear by women) .

Sakshi came forward and said

"Now we have the toran ceremony..bhai..you see that toran above our head..you have to touch that toran with help of this neem stick and then you can enter inside."

She gave him the neem stick and moved aside.

The toran was placed at good 15 feet above the ground. Aditya jumped but couldn't reach the toran then finally rohan and sumeet lifted him up and then he touched the toran with help of the neem stick.

After he got down Sakshi dragged Meghna's mother infront of Aditya and taking her hand pulled Aditya's nose.

Meghna's mother immediately started apologising to Aditya. But sakshi chirped in

"Aunty this a ritual don't worry..I didn't tell all of you before hand because then these two idiot *pointing at sumeet and rohan* would have tried to save bhai's nose."

Everybody chuckled at it and then walked in with the shower of fragrant red roses over them.

After and elaborate feast. All of the relatives settled down in the wedding hall and immediate family accompanied Aditya to the priest for further rituals.

The priest came forward along with Meghna's father and said to Aditya's family

"Now we will start the ritual called kashi yatra..in it Aditya will take this umbrella along with this cloth filled with rice and will imitate like he is going to Kashi to take Bramahcharya and Meghna's father will stop him and get him to the mandap with a coconut and shagun."

After the priest explained the ritual, aditya suddenly chirped in

"But I am not going to kashi I want to marry meghna..then why all this"

Suddenly sakshi chuckled besides him and said

"Bhai this is a south Indian tradition and we know that you are too eager to marry meghna..so don't worry just follow the instructions"

Aditya gave a small smile and then the ritual took place and after that he was taken to the mandap for the Varmala/Antarpat/Shubhudrishti etc. (Different names for same ritual)
