Aditya was busy studying a file when a knock on his bedroom door caught his attention. Meghna entered his room with a huge smile.

"Hi adi how are you now?"

Aditya narrowed his eye brows and said

" yes..I am perfectly fine and still you all are treating me like a five year old"

Meghna chuckled at his cute agitated reaction

"Adi you now we are not fussing over your health unnecessarily..you are too careless..when you start working you forget yourself..so its better you rest for few days"

Aditya knew his family and meghna were not going to budge so he nodded in defeat.

Aditya got busy reading his file when Meghna snatched it from him

"Meghna what are you doing give back my file"

Meghna glared at him and said

" you are on leave to take rest and you are still working its not done.."

Aditya irritatedly replied

" plz last file then I will take a nap"

Meghna smiled at him

"ok last one"

Aditya smiled at her and took his file back.

As he was going through his file meghna started going through her phone..when the date took her by surprise. .

Meghna suddenly got up from her seat

"ohhh..no..how can I forget"

Aditya questioningly looked at her

"whats it meghna?"

"Adi day after tomorrow its raksha bandhan!"

Aditya took his phone and checked it

"oh yes its raksha bandhan I also completely forgot about it..every year sakshi gives a big list of her gifts to me and sumeet a week before rakhi..and now she is not here I completely forgot about it..and by the way she is out on her honeymoon so I guess we will have to celebrate it after she comes back"

Aditya was disappointed that this year on rakhi his wrist would be bare.

Meghna sat besides him ans said

" adi I know you miss her very much.."

" I do miss her a lot..this time my wrist would be bare on rakhi"

Meghna smiled at him and said

"adi sakshi isn't your only sister..thus year you have one more sister..."

" who??all my cousin sisters are either abroad or are in hostel so they always send me rakhi by post and sakshi ties those rakhis on their behalf but this time sakshi is not here so I don't think we are going to celebrate rakhi this year.."

Meghna sighed..

"adi I am not talking about your distant cousins I am talking about your sister who is in your house"

Aditya raised his eyebrows questioningly

Meghna smiled at him and said

" adi I am talking about shruthi...she is your sister in law..but you always have treated her like sakshi. .whenever you bring gifts for sakshi you also bring it for Shruthi...and she has never celebrated rakhi as such because she doesn't have a sibling and her father didn't have a good relation with their family so her cousins never visited her..

I think you must ask her to tie you a rakhi she would be so happy..and she misses her family a lot..this small celebration would change her mood.."

Aditya smiled at her and hugged her

" are you for real..sometimes I think you are a imaginary character from some story...how can someone be so..so..I don't know I don't have words for describing you.."

Meghna chuckled..

" so adi what will be your gift for your new found sister shruthi? "

Adi thought for a while and suddenly got up

"I have amazing gift in mind"

Meghna smiled at his enthusiasm

" so do I have the honour of knowing it"

Aditya made a cute puppy dog face and said

" sorry but I can't tell you right now I just hope..I could get this for her..you just pray I get her this gift"

Meghna smiled at him and said

" ofcourse..you will get her this gift..all the best..."

On the day of rakhi

Meghna arrived at Aditya's house and was surprised to see everbody engrossed in their work instead of preparing for raksha bandhan...

Aditya's parents were watching a old photo album. Sumeet was arranging his files. Shruthi was busy calling someone but by the looks of it, the person was not receiving her calls..

Aditya's mother welcomed her and said

" Meghna are you not celebrating rakhi today..?"

"Mom actually we all cousins celebrate rakhi together but this time nisha di and arish were not free so we will be meeting up next sunday"

"here also we are going to celebrate after sakshi returns...you also come now you will be sitting next you adi as his better half..right"

Meghna blushed at her comment. Aditya's mother smiled at her..

then Meghna walked towards shruthi...

" hey shruthi whats up..?"

shruthi slyly smiles at her..

Meghna sat besides her and placed a hand on her shoulder

"shruthi.."

"Meghna from past 5 says I am trying to call my parents to inform them about my pregnancy but they are not receiving my calls..mom also tried to contact them but they disconnected the calls..I want to share my happiness with them"

" shruthi don't be sad..everthing will be all right..don't take stress its not good for you and your baby's health"

meghna took shruthi to hee room and made her lie down. Then she went to Aditya's room

"adi why didn't you tell anybody that shruthi will be tying you a rakhi..have you changed your mind?"

Meghna enquired him furiously.

Aditya smiled at reassuringly

" no I am not backing out I am just waiting for shruthi's gift"

Before Meghna ciuls question him..his phone started ringing..

Aditya received the call

" okay..see you soon"

was the only thing he said.

After disconnecting the call..he turned towards Meghna and said

" Meghna go get shruthi to the living room..her gift will be here in few minutes."

Meghna brought shruthi to the living room..

Aditya's family was staring at Aditya ans Meghna..questioningly.

Aditya kneeled infront of shruthi and said

" shruthi will you do me the honour becoming my sister..and tie me a rakhi"

Everybody was speechless.

Shruthi nodded in agreement with happy tears in her eyes..

His mother patted his back and said

"adi how thoughtful of you..I am so proud of you"

aditya smiled at her and said

" mom Meghna gave this idea.."

Everybody smiled and her and then they started with the rituals.

Shruthi applied tilak on Aditya's forehead...then she did Aditya's aarti and fed him a piece of sweet. And tied a rakhi on Aditya's right wrist. And then took his blessings.

Sumeet sat next to Aditya and said

" this is not fair...bhai has a rakhi and my wrist is bare"

Meghna smiled at his childish pout and walked towards him

and took a rakhi and held it infront of sumeet and said

" may I "

Sumeet smiled and brought his hand forward...meghna tied the rakhi on his hand..

Sumeet took a 500 rupee note from his wallet and gave it to meghna as rakhi gift..meghna tried to refuse it..but sumeet forced her to accept it..

Meghna walked towards Aditya and said

" hey adi where's shruthi's gift"

before adi could reply meghna. .shruthi said

" no I don't want a gift I have a brother now thats the biggest gift"

Aditya smiled and said

" shruthi I don't think once you see my gift you are going to refuse it.."

and at the precise moment their door bell rang..Meghna was about to walk towards the door when adi said

" shruthi its your gift go and open the door"

Shruthi walked towards the door and slowly opened it and she was speechless...she started crying uncontrollably...looking at her condition supriya walked towards the door and held her tightly...and when she saw who was at the door tears ran down her cheek as well. She composed herself and said

" please come inside.."

Aditya's father, sumeet were stunned to see the guests and meghna stared them clueless.

As they entered the living room shruthi hugged both the persons and started crying and said

" mom*sob* dad..."

Meghna was dumb struck shruthi's parents were here..tears rolled down her cheek..she could feel shruthi's happiness..meeting her parents after six months..

Meghna walked towards adi and said

" this is the best gift..you didn't gift her what she wanted you gifted her what she needed."

After meeting her parents shruthi walked towards Aditya and said...

" Everybody thank their parents for gifting them a brother..but I am the luckliest one thanking my brother for gifting me my parents. .thank you so much bhai"
