CHAPTER THIRTY: Inside

Author's note: I'll be trying out a new writing style. Bear with me. I'll be reading a lot of books so I can improve this novel more so if this lacks details, I'll edit it next time.

The live room was now occupied. And it certainly wasn't the two of them.

Eli had finished recording another of his compositions.

To be honest, I envy the guy. He keeps on writing while I keep on procrastinating. Talk about being a writer, damn.

My eyes scanned the room to see if I had completely forgotten anything. I usually leave small stuff if I wasn't too careful. Mom always used to scold me once I do. She said I should be aware more of where I put things so I wouldn't lose them.

It always happen so I made sure to check - maybe save myself and Eli from the trouble of returning back here. A cab fare wasn't really what I'd like to spend more on.

When I was sure that I've already gotten everything I need, I nodded at Eli - who was just sitting in the sofa with his eyes not straying away from Theus' direction. I could tell that the two had a bit of disagreement and it's best not to get on his bad side right now. Though, I couldn't help but ask him a question.

"Do I really have to go inside?" His attention finally went to me before he decides to nod.

"Don't worry, we'll be quick. We just have to discuss some things. We'll tell you once we're done."

"Can't it be the other way around?" Suddenly pointing at the live room. I'm not actually claustrophobic but I do hate small spaces and I'm actually an impatient woman.

"You'll hear our conversation. No." I just sighed in exasperation before I waved my hand.

"Fine, fine. But, make it quick," I warned him before finally going inside the live room and sat down on one of the chairs. I could hear a little bit of noise from outside and I could tell that it was probably them talking it out now.

They were still talking about the song from earlier. So, I could assume Theus wanted him to record it for the third time.

I could actually see them out there but I couldn't hear anything. They were right next at the control panel so a little bit of push, I might be able to know what they're discussing. But eavesdropping at the door, I'm pretty sure I'd get in trouble for that.

When I saw Eli still stealing glances inside, at this point, I only grinned. Eli knew how impatient I was. There was one time that I kept bothering him about the coffee packets so being here for at least half an hour, he knew I'd do anything to get out.

I laughed as he suddenly took out the swivel chair and put it against the door. This guy really think I'd try to sneak. Wow.

"How dare he think that I'm the one to open that door and listen to their conversation," I mumbled under my breath before huffing.

"Your conversation ain't that interesting for me to eavesdrop, you know!" I yelled - not knowing they'd hear me.

As soon as I did that, he came to the control panel and pressed a button. "We can hear your loud mouth from here, Cia."

"Well, that's great then! Take that chair away or else I'll do it myself-"

Eli rolled his eyes and took the chair back again. Looking back at me, I only stuck out a tongue at him before taking out my phone - making sure he'd take notice that I wasn't really that interested in their conversation. Unless, I was involved in that chat.

Oh god, what if I really am?

Glancing back, I noticed that Eli wasn't really paying attention to Theus. Instead, he was giving me a dead stare. I chuckled and returned the gesture. Wanting to stay out of trouble, however, I tried to hold back my curiosity and looked away.

Hmm, but what could it be?

Could it be that only a few of his songs were selected?

No, that's impossible. His songs were already good. It can't be that.

And knowing him, he'd still push those songs even on media. If he couldn't release it for an album, he would try to make it as a post for his fans to take notice anyway. I could tell that he was the one to think that.

But since he was a singer, I couldn't really know. This wasn't really my place to know how he'd usually sing his songs so I only patiently waited inside the live room with my bag on my hand. The only thing I noticed, however, is that they don't look like they'll be letting me out any time soon.

When Eli finally walked in, I only stood there with a pokerface. Looks like I'm wrong then. I shouldn't assume that quick.

The guy only put his hands on his pocket as Theus came soon right after him. "You should really take that into account, Eli."

"I'd make sure not to forget, Theus. Thanks." A cold tone came from Eli before he walked out of the door. It only made me take one last look at Theus before running out to follow Eli - who looked like he was already fuming. Red cheeks and pouting? That's new. Whatever his bestfriend told him must've flustered him a lot then.

Knowing how pent up he was, I decided to not say a word along the way. I remained my mouth shut.

Yet, I did try to ask him if he'd like to take things out of his mind by grabbing a meal from a nearby restaurant. He only shrugged - making me purse my lips. Well, here goes Mr. Grumpy Pants again. Surely, I could turn his mood around. Wouldn't want my neighbors to get the death stare by the time we go back.

"Let's go to Mcdonald's. Maybe it could turn that frown upside down!" Taking his hands, I decided to drag him faster to call a cab.

Though, I didn't notice the red tint on his cheeks as I did.
