CHAPTER NINETEEN: Polaroid
Note before reading: If the scenes feel rushed, that means that the book still needs to be revised after completion. As I said, feedback is highly appreciated if there are mistakes or anything that you want to let the author know. Lovelots! 💕

A rush of adrenaline surged over me.
I was rushing to put my shoes on, take my polaroid camera, and get my journal from the computer - while biting a toast that I made earlier. Right now, Kiara had been available to beta read for me and my publisher was calling me to pass the next few chapters this week.
Knowing myself, I knew I had to work on it earlier than I planned to. Or else I won't be able to finish anything.
"Kiara's going to be mad at me if I meet her late," I mumbled to myself before munching on my toast in a rush, sprinting to the door and locking it. At this point, I wasn't sure if Eli had finished his song since I decided to leave him right after he finished writing. Maybe he was still busy.
Shaking my thoughts off, I finally ran to the elevator after I finished and got in right before it closed. Whew. Taking a peek at my phone to check the time, I noticed that it was already 8.
Hmm, I still have half an hour to wait for her, I guess.
Might as well take the time to take a stroll.

Another click had rung out as I made sure to take a picture of the row of trees right in front of me. The cherry blossoms were falling, birds were chirping, and chit chats were all around the place. If you're wondering why I had to do this, it's because I need to work on a novel, and taking a polaroid picture helps a lot since I can hang them in my room.
My publisher had wanted me to feature a great place to put on my novel yesterday and she told me that she wanted something out of the ordinary. Something that would make her imagine her life was a movie.
Dinner dates and cinemas are highly overrated, she says since most writers use that scenes for a scene. Her words, alright? Not mine.
A sigh only left my lips as I proceed to walk down the path. Honestly, she could've given me more specific details but I guess I have to figure everything on my own after her saying that she won't the chapters unless it's edited.
Right now, I was at Cherry Esplanade in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I had a bit of a problem reaching Kiara so I decided to take a little trip here. We were supposed to meet at 8:30 but I guess she was still asleep. Might as well take down some notes and take a few shots for the novel, right?
After all, we didn't have any Sakura trees back in my hometown in the Philippines so it was new to me.
Looking over my camera once again, I tried to look over the pictures that I took - that is until I heard a strum of guitar on under one of the Sakura trees. I immediately raised my eyebrow at this and tried to take a peek at the one singing and jamming.
Maintaining such distance, since there were also a lot of people watching and listening to him, I decided to just tip-toe in a distance to take a look at the guy. Though, I don't really recognize him, since his face was too far away for me to even know who it was.
I'm a bit nearsighted so looking at a person too far away just makes faces blurry for me to even know who they are. However, I do recognize what he was wearing.
He was wearing a green cap on his head, a black sweater, and a blue bracelet on his hand. He also seems to have a mid-length bowl haircut and a serious look was plastered while playing his guitar.
When he finally finished his song, he only gave a slight smile towards the people around him, thanked them, before he walked away and sat on a nearby bench. Everyone seemed to have stopped as well and decided to move on as they saw that the guy was having a break.
This might be a chance to take a picture then? Since the shade of orange had already reflected on the sky and the stream of water was already evident in the picture. He already moved out of the way so I'm sure I can zoom in on the scenery.
It's not bad to take a picture of the view, right? As long as I zoom on it, I'm guessing he won't be included in the phone and it would be fine to take just one photo.
As soon as I had my camera ready, the shutter came off and I was shocked to see him being included and he seem disturbed. Oh shoot, I forgot the sound was there and a flash was probably seen. Plus, I forgot to zoom in.
"Did you just-" he immediately mumbled before looking right down at my camera.
Once I saw his glare, I then bowed to apologize. "I'm sorry! I just took a picture of the view, I swear!"
When I felt him approaching, that's when I decided not to get into trouble. As soon as he called me out, I decided not to turn around and looked away. It would only cause more trouble if I did try to face this guy.
After that, I decided to run as if my life depended on it - not even paying attention to whom I was bumping into or where I was going.
I heard something fall right behind me but I paid no mind to it.
Right now, I just need to escape. That was the only thing I had focused on.
Running away from the place, I huffed as soon as I got back to the road. Though, turning back and staring at the park, I knitted my eyebrows.
Why does that guy's voice sound so familiar?
