I'm exhausted from trying to be stronger than I feel.

Violet's POV

Sleep eluded me. I hadn't slept all night after the nightmare. This wasn't the first time I had sleepless nights; in fact, it was something that happened frequently.

I remember waking up at night screaming, tears rolling down my face. My nightmares weren't images that my subconscious put together; they were memories. Memories I wish I could forget, when I was little I would have nightmares, and as I grew older, the nightmares became worse.

One day I finally snapped. I couldn't take the pain anymore, I had a mental breakdown and got checked into a psychiatric hospital. I spent two long, agonizing years in that prison.

I felt trapped there. I was like a dog; I was being trained to accept the pain and suffering or pretend it wasn't real. In a way I did accept it, I let my demons drown me and now they have my soul.

I look around at my now empty house; I packed up all my belongings since today I would be leaving for Valentine mansion. I didn't own much; my things filled only two boxes. My father never let me work, so I didn't have money to buy stuff for myself, he said he could take care of me, and he didn't want me to worry.

I cringe in disgust at the thought of my father. He was supposed to always be there for me, but he sells me off to a gang like a rag. I still couldn't believe he'd done that; he's just like my mother. They're both nothing but selfish pigs.

"Violet are you okay?" Bella questions pulling me out of my thoughts. "Yeah I'm fine, I'm just going to miss this place," I respond with a sad smile.

She walks over to me and pulls me into a hug,"I know, I'm going to miss it too," she whispers. I pull away from her and smile.

"You guys are going to make me cry," I hear Livia say. She walks over to us and smiles,"You guys know I'm not the best at feelings but if there's anything I've been sure of in my life it's that I love you two and I won't let anything bad happen to you guys."

"Wow Livia, I love you too," Bella says and pulls Livia into a big hug.

Livia looks at me waiting for my response. I smile at her and say, "Ditto." She smiles at me. "Oh and I have one more thing for you guys," She says and pulls out three guns from her bag.

I look at her in shock, "Are you crazy!"

She shakes her head and looks at Bella and me with a stern face, "We don't know what we're going to face there we need to be prepared, and I know you guys know how to use these guns."

She was right; your fathers taught us how to use guns when we were teenagers. They said we needed to learn how to protect ourselves. We found out later that we needed the protection because they were involved in some gang.

They promised they wouldn't get messed up in that kind of thing again, but of course, they were lying.

I take a gun from Livia's hands and put it in my backpack. "We have to promise we won't use these unless we absolutely need them." They both nod, Bella takes a gun from Livia and keeps it in her backpack.

I hear a knock on the door and walk over to answer it. I see my dad, James, Peter and two men I assume are here to take us away. My father tries to hug me, but I move away from him. He frowns at my reaction but stays quiet.

"Get your stuff so we can leave." One of the say in a hard tone. Bella, Livia and I get our stuff and start to head out with the men, but my dad stops us.

"We have to talk," he says, and we turn to hear what he has to say.

"Please be careful," James says in a worried tone.

Bella glares at him, "We wouldn't even be in this mess if it wasn't for you three assholes."

Peter glares at her, "Don't talk to us that way we're your fathers," he says in a tone.

I scoff at his words, "You lost the right to be called fathers the moment you gave us up like trash,"I hiss.

With that, we turn around and leave. We left behind: Our family, our home, our life. We left everything behind all we had right now was each other.
