Sleep just isn't sleep, anymore it's an escape.

Xavier's POV

I stood next to Rose's dead body. She'd died late last night; the doctor said something about internal bleeding. I wasn't listening. It seemed I wasn't destined to have a mother. My birth mother disappeared, and the only mother figure I had is dead. Isn't life just wonderful?

I stayed beside her dead body all night. I didn't let the doctors take her away. Her body laid motionless on the bed. She was cold and pale. Ace and Caden stayed with me; this was the first Ace had cried since his mother's funeral, Caden didn't speak at all he was in shock. Rose had been a mother to all of us and losing her was killing everyone.

I feel an arm on my shoulder, I turn and find Caden looking at me with sad eyes. "You're dad's here, and he's angry." I sigh, reluctantly leaving Rose's side. I didn't want to deal with him today.

I step out of her room and see my father. He walks over to me with a scowl on his face. "Why didn't you meet Ivy like I'd instructed you too!" He exclaimed loudly. "I had more important things to do," I stated coldly.

He snorts at my response, "Is this about Rose? You're acting like a child. She's dead, and there's nothing you can do about it but move on. You can't be worried about something as unimportant as this. You have a business to run."

I glare at him. He'd acted the same way at my mom's funeral. He acted like she was something but dirt. He didn't care about anything but his precious business. "I am thinking. I have to find out who killed Rose,"

He laughs at me, " That shouldn't be hard wasn't that young lady Violet the last person to see Rose."

"Are assuming that Violet had something to do this and how did you know Violet saw Rose last you weren't in the house she got stabbed," He smirks at me, His phone buzzes and he pulls it out of his pocket checking his message. His disposition suddenly changes, he glares at his phone. "Ivy will be coming to the house tonight, expect you to welcome her with open arms." He glares at me one more time before leaving the hospital.

I stand here in utter confusion. Violet didn't have anything to do with Rose's death right?

Violet's POV

I sat in a wooden chair in the middle of the cabin that Rose had talked about. It wasn't easy to find, it was hidden deep in the forest. It looked like it been here for years. It had a big round table in the middle of it, and there were four chairs around the table and a small little bed in the corner. Livia, Bella and I had planned to see Rose this morning, but Xavier never came back. There was no work to be done. No one wanted to eat after the incident. Well not everyone accept that rude man Abel and his scary tattooed friend.

"Rose did quite some digging," Livia commented. She was right; there were piles of papers and files on the floor of the cabin. She'd taken down notes of leads, and she made a list of people she suspected were part of the secret organization. The list read:

Suspects For Leaders: Ivy King, Jax Valentine, Antonio Ferrando.

Suspects For Members: Abel Wilson, Ethan King, Bianca Lorenzo.

"Who's Ivy King?" Bella asks,

"I don't know" I respond, "But I do know, but I do that Abel Wilson is that scary man that attacked me in Xavier's office and whoever Jax Valentine is he's related to Xavier." They nod in agreement and go back to digging through the files.

I looked around the dirty and noticed a black object under the table. I get up from the chair and walk over to the object, I bend down and bring it and see it's briefcase. "Guys come check this out," I say in excitement. They get up from their chairs and walk over to me.

"Come on! Open it," Livia exclaims. I open it with shaking hands, and I stare at the contents of the briefcase with wide eyes. There were different kinds of weapons: guns, knives you name it. "There's a note there," Bella says pointing at the piece of paper in the briefcase. She picks up and reads the note at loud.

If you're reading this, I'm on the verge of the death, and I've asked you to take over my investigation. There somethings you should know. I've been watching you girls for a very long time. I know that each of you has a story, I know you've struggled. This story goes deeper than you think, it's not just the mafia anymore, it's not just Mrs. Valentine disappearance. This story is about you each one of you. The journey ahead will not be full of danger. Secrets will reveal themselves, monsters will be unleashed, and the truth will finally be known.

We look that each other astonished at what we've just read. What have we gotten ourselves into?
