Kiara's POV :

"Yes, that is the design for the new model, please start the process and run through Mr. Wilder please," I said to the Director he nodded and left. "Okay, I want the details of yesterday's meeting after I come back from lunch," I said to my assistant before leaving the room with my bag.

"Kiara!" I heard Kyle say and I turned around briefly. I smiled when he walked toward me. "When did you get here?" I asked him to run and hugged him. "Early morning," he said, hugging me back. "Did you get your hair done?" he asked and I laughed. "For the ball this weekend," I smiled. "Why are you here though you could have rested," I asked. "I know you are handling things spectacularly when I am not around but my wife and kids are not at home and I don't feel like staying there anymore," he laughed.

"When are the munchkins coming back?" I asked. "Today," he smiled. Elijah and Avalon 'Ava' for short were always so cute. Elijah was five and Ava was three. And I couldn't have found anyone as sweet as them. "Good and your wife?" I smirked. "She is the one keeping them from me," he said. "Aww, big baby, you could always pick them up from her parent's house, it's not like they live far away," I said. "But you do, why won't you move back in with us?" he asked.

"Not this again, I am busy I have to go-" "To the cafe for lunch with your lover boy, I know," he laughed. "You need to stop calling him that, we are friends," I said, turning to leave. "But he loves you!" he shouted, gaining the attention of people around us but they knew better than to talk between the owners of the company.

As much as we goofed around Kyle was a strict boss even stricter than me and that's saying something. But we always had each other so we were still happy. I smiled walking across the street to the new yet not-so-new cafe.

They had built this around a year ago, it was one of the most famous cafes and it was owned by a British Lady who moved here around that time. The interior was immaculate. I loved their food since they had international cuisines. "Hi, Kiara," I heard Ms Smith say. "You are losing your British accent, Ms Smith," I laughed, grabbing my spot only to see him already gobbling down food.

"You have some manners?" I asked sitting down. "What you take too long to walk across the street," he groaned. I sat back looking at him. Blonde hair disheveled, he was wearing a buttoned-down shirt tucked in his black dress pants, his tie closed and his coat hung behind his chair. "Who would say you are the rich spoilt brat?" I asked. "Look who's talking."

"Leonardo I will kick your ass," I said, throwing a tissue at him. "You are the one dressed in expensive clothing, darling," he said, giving me once over. "Shut up, did you order food for me or just become selfish?" I asked. As if on cue I heard a giggling.

"Did you hear that Leonardo? I think someone is here?" I said as Ms Smith placed my food. Aria came out of her hiding spot behind her mother. "Hi?" I smiled at the five-year-old. "How is my best friend doing?" I asked pulling her in my lap. "Ms Smith, how many times do I have to tell you to stop bringing food just for us!" I said. She was the owner for god's sake.

"Come on, you know I love you two!" she said. "You only you Ms Smith," Leonardo said dramatically. "Stop doing that," I said as I dug into the food and Aria got off my lap. "Will you come to the park with me on Saturday?" she asked me and I nodded smiling at her. "Of course, Elijah will be coming," I smiled, making her smile even more.

She ran back to the counter while Ms Smith just laughed. "She is cute isn't she?" Leonardo asked. "Yeah, she is. So all set for the ball next week?" I asked. "I am not worried about that Kiara, you know there is this new deal I am trying to crack, the only way Dad will trust me with being the successor," he said. I nodded. "So what happened?" I asked him. "Instead of me going to the client he demanded, he comes here and sees the company and everything for himself," he sighed.

As we talked for a little he dropped me back. "I'll see you tomorrow at the same time?" he asked. "Leo, why waste your time?" I sighed. "What do you mean?" he asked. "You know-" "Kiara, I know what you want to say, go on dates and have fun but I am not trying to pursue you, right now you are the person who makes me happy and I want to spend my time with you, let me," he said slightly kissing my cheek before walking away.

I smiled walking back in and getting back to work. Monday, I loved this day so much! The sarcasm was real.

It was almost Wednesday and the workload was too much. "Yes, these are the datasheets for today," my assistant said, handing them to me. "Thank you, please send a copy to Mr Kyle as well," I said as she nodded and left blushing a little. She was a new intern and had a crush on Kyle even though she knew he was married she was intimidated by him.

"Kiara!" I heard him loudly making me laugh as I walked to his cabin that was right beside mine. "Yes, brother?" I asked. "Why do you put me in this position? You know it is so awkward!" he said, going through the file.

"You called me here, for that?" I asked to take a seat. "Nope, apparently this Italian businessman is coming to LA," he said. I nodded. "Yes, I heard about it," I said. "So we need a deal with him," he said. "But weirdly his name sounds familiar," he said. I heard my phone ringing that was in my cabin making me get up.

"Whatever, let me know if I will be doing the meeting or if you are going," I said rushing out. "Hello?" I answered looking at the unknown number. But there was no answer. "Hello? Who is this?" I asked. But the line went dead. I rolled my eyes thinking it must have been some stupid prank and got back to work.

Saturday rolled in real quick and I was so happy! Elina and Kyle were going out so the kids were going to stay with me. As soon as I got ready in a white top, and blue jeans I heard the doorbell ring.

"Hello my cuties," I said as they both ran to me. "Thank you I owe you!" Elina said standing near the elevator that was right beside my apartment. "I know you two are going away for the weekend that doesn't mean you make another baby, take it easy," I smirked. She blushed asking me to shut up before blowing me a kiss and leaving.

I turned around to look at the two kids looking at me with their big eyes. "Let's go in," I said as I picked up Avalon and Elijah walked beside me. "Does kissing make babies?" he asked making me look at him wide-eyed. "What?" I asked. "Mom and Dad are always kissing even though Mom pushes him away when we are around," he said thinking hard.

"No, kissing doesn't make babies, but kissing is for older people okay?" I said to him and he nodded. "Okay, did you two eat or are you hungry?" I asked making Ava smile and nod. "We ate... now can we go to the park?" he said impatiently. "Of course, we can but why are you so eager?" I asked him. "I promised to see Aria," he said.

"Big words are being used and they are being abided by huh?" I asked. "What is abide?" he said. "Never mind, let me grab all the stuff mommy left Ava," I said picking up the small bag and grabbing my phone, wallet, and keys.

"Let's go, Elijah," I said holding out my hand and he gladly took it. The park was five minutes away and he kept talking about his school. "Elijah!" we heard a voice screaming. I looked as Aria ran to us and Elijah left my hand and ran to his friend. They soon joined other kids and started playing. There were a few kids of Ava's age that were playing in the toddler section so I dropped her off there and stood nearby. I made sure to check up on both of them when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I said sounding confused since it was Elina. "There was an emergency at the office, so we are canceling. Looks like you would have to go too," she said. "I just brought the kids to the park, I'll be there in two hours and drop them at your house directly?" I asked. "Perfect thank you," she said ending the call.

I sighed sitting down on the bench and typing away on my phone smiling at the kids when they called my name and waved at me. It was almost an hour when Ava ran back and sat next to me. "I'm hungry," she said. I pulled out the snacks from the tiffin and she sat there eating once she was done she looked tired so I brought her on my lap and she started drifting to sleep.

Elijah and Aria ran to me soon. "Auntie Kiara, I am done can we go home?" he said sweat trickling down his forehead. "Dad, had an emergency at the office so Mom and Dad came back from their trip, I'll also have to go, so I'll be dropping you both home," I said and he looked at me sadly.

"But we were going to bake! And we didn't play any board games! And-" "How about I buy you cupcakes while we are on the way?" I asked. He nodded eagerly.

"Aria, I didn't see your mom here?" I asked her. She jumped excitedly before pointing at a man. "My brother is back from England!" she shouted. I looked to see a man his back to me in a suit talking on the phone. "Oh that's great," I smiled. "Let's go, I want you to see him!" she said as she started to drag me but my phone started to ring and I saw it was Kyle.

"Aria dear, how about some other time?" I asked her. She pouted but smiled nonetheless. "You go to him I will see you soon okay?" I smiled and she nodded as I stood up. She hugged my legs making me ruffle her hair and she waved at Elijah before she ran to her brother.

I turned around and immediately picked up the call. "I'm coming," I said. "Good," he said, hanging up. I grabbed Elijah's hand and we walked back to my apartment. Instead of walking up, I placed Avalon in her car seat and Elijah sat in front buckling them up I sped to their house.

I sighed when I got back from work. The new model file was missing and another company had announced the same product as ours.

Sitting on the couch I massaged my head, gladly we both could handle the situation and had a new and better product launch next month. The work was going to double and I was okay with that as long as everything was fine.

My phone rang and it was Ms Smith I stood up taking it. "Ms Smith? Is everything okay?" I asked since she never called me.

"Stop panicking dear, I just completely forgot to tell you about Aria's birthday party," she said. I sighed, sitting back down. "Ohh," I laughed. "It's like an extravagant event because my son is back too, also the theme is princesses," she laughed.

"Of course, it is," I said as my voice was draining out. "Did you just get back from work?" she asked. I hummed. "Don't overwork yourself, I'm hoping I'll see you tomorrow at 6?" she asked.

"I will be there," I said. "Also could you bring your brother and his family too?" she said. I laughed, agreeing. "Okay, then I will leave you to rest," she said. We bade goodbyes and she ended the call. I sat there as my eyes closed, drifting off to sleep.

"Kiara!" I heard a very familiar voice making me steer but my neck started to hurt. "Why are you here?" I asked sitting up.

"You need to start taking care of yourself," he said, dropping a bag on the table. "You are there for that," I smiled. "Of course I am," he said, sitting down beside me and hugging me. "Okay, before I forget we have a birthday party tonight," I said, putting my head on his shoulder.

"Ah, Aria, right?" he said. "Elijah has been talking about it non-stop," he laughed. "Kyle, what are you doing here?" he asked. "Just checking up on you," he smiled. I looked at him, raising my eyebrows. "Go cuddle with your wife, a**hole," I punched him lightly grabbing the breakfast.

"Okay, I'll see you tonight then?" he said. I smiled nodding and he kissed my forehead leaving. Weird.

I sighed, cranking my neck. I wish someone would take care of me. But no prince is charming.

I sighed when I forgot something. The address. I quickly took out my phone and I called Ms Smith. "Ms Smith?" I said but there was no reply, just music being played in the background.

"Hello? I don't know the address!" I said. The call ended abruptly and I received a message. We will send you the car in 20 minutes. That was what it said.

I looked at it confused. "Kyle!" I said only for him to text me that he couldn't make it and he would be dropping Elijah with me.

When I walked downstairs waiting for both of them I looked down at my dress. It was a simple baby pink dress. I tied my hair half up, braiding it. Wearing the necklace a small diamond earring with three rings on my fingers in each of my hands.

I saw a familiar car pull up and I smiled. Elijah jumped out and I smiled seeing he was dressed in a blue suit like a prince. "My prince charming," I said bowing and laughing as we hugged.

"Sorry, can't make it, Elina promised her parents dinner," he said. I nodded as he winked at me and left.

"Where is your car?" he asked me, looking up at me. "We are waiting for a ride," I smiled. A few minutes later a black sleek car pulled up. The guard walked out, opening the door for us.

"Ms Smith sent us," he said. I nodded getting in. Elijah started playing James on my phone and I sat there looking outside paying no heed to the surroundings. Until we started pulling up in a very familiar neighborhood.

"Excuse me?" I asked the guard. "Yes ma'am?" he said. "Does Ms Smith live in that mansion?" I told my heart beating faster as he nodded and the gates opened up. My breath started to become uneven.

"Wow," Elijah said looking outside as the cars stopped at the entrance and then we both walked out. When Elijah grabbed my arm I looked at him looking back at me.

"Let's go?" he said but my legs weren't ready to enter. Why was she living here of all places? Elijah started dragging me and I walked without thinking. As I passed through the main door the familiar air hit me.

It was so much more crowded than I remember. When I entered the ballroom masks were sitting there. I saw Ms Smith running toward me. "I'm so happy you came! You look amazing!" she smiled. "Thank you, you are looking gorgeous too," she said.

"Ms Smith? When did you move here?" I asked. Elijah grabbed two masks, handing them on to me before he ran off when he saw some friends. "When I got here, I didn't want to stay in this place, but my son insisted since it was such a big house and no one stayed here," she smiled.

I let out a breath nodding. "Why though?" she said as she walked with me into the cutely decorated venue. "Curious," I said as nostalgia hit me. "Don't forget to put on the mask when the dance begins!" she said leaving me there. I could see some parents there and even some businessmen when I spotted Mr Smith. I smiled waving at him as I took a seat. I didn't understand why she changed her surname but they never actually got married.

I sighed when I found two girls taking a seat at my table not before giving me a look. "Did you see her son? He looks so hot!" one said. "His face is a masterpiece!" she said. "I heard he is from England," she continued. I scoffed making them look at me. "Why are you scoffing?" she intervened. "Don't mind me," I said, grabbing the drink. "As if he is going to like someone like her," she said. "Kiara?" I heard an excited voice making me turn.

"Aria, you look like a princess!" I said as she hugged me. "Thank you!" she said and I pulled my present for her. "Here you go. Happy Birthday!" I said as Elijah ran to us wishing her Happy Birthday. "Thank you so much!" she said as they both ran away. The girls scoffed. As soon as Mr Smith started talking I paid attention. They both spoke, taking everyone for coming and Aria cut the cake as we all sang for her. Mr Smith announced the dance as he took Ms Smith and went into the center. I just stood there as the girls at my table wore their masks and joined in. Soon a man in a black suit asked me and I agreed to wear my mask. His mask was already on his face and he just looked at me.

As we went around in circles I was passed to the next person. The next one tried to make conversation but I was least interested. Soon the lights were focused on the stairs as a very tall man walked down them. He was wearing a black mask and a very elegant white suit. He looked at least 6'2''. I focused my attention when I turned and the next person held my waist.

"Kiara?" I snapped my eyes to the person I was dancing with. The voice sounded so familiar but had a British accent. "How do you know me?" I said. He stayed quiet as he looked behind me. The White man joined one man beside us.

"How do you know me?" I asked but he stayed silent, turning me around and I fell into the next person's arm. He smiled at me but my attention was on the man before as he walked out of the circle standing beside another man dressed almost like him.

When the person I was dancing with was about to turn me around they both removed their masks making me stop dead in my tracks and the girl bumped me over. Making me almost fall but the man in the white suit caught me as his rough hands on my waist made me break eye contact with them as I looked at him, his stubble was short but looked good. As soon as I looked into his eyes I stepped back from his arms only for him to pull me closer.

"Angel."
