I was walking towards the car when I saw Asher standing at his car shouting like a maniac.
"What the fu*ck is wrong with you I don't fu*cking care what the reason is. You gave me your word. You know what the consequences will be, As*hole. You better be ready before I ki-" his eyes met mine, and he glared at me before ending the call. If he didn't want me to hear okay.
I walked to the driver's seat, waiting for Allisa to come. When there was a knock on my window. Kyle's head popped up as I rolled down the window. He showed me his phone.
Sophia Macford and Cole Taylor step out with their son Jason Taylor.
I sighed. Edward is already a mess and this wasn't helping. I handed back him the phone. I saw Christian come by. "Christian, please make sure you drop Allisa," I said as I reversed my car and sped away in anger. Why would she do this to us? Start a family of her own and leave us here. I changed the gear rearing the car faster as I made my way to the Hollywood sign. It was a place I would go to when I missed her. I drove, crossing the speed limit. The car came to a screeching stop when I reached there.
I got out and sat on the hilltop, looking at the city of Los Angeles.
----
I reached home after spending 2 hours at the hilltop. Mom and Dad were out for a business party. I sighed as I walked to my room. I opened Kyle's door to see even he was not at home.
I grabbed my phone and called Allisa. She didn't pick up. I called again and again. I sighed, throwing my phone on the bed, as I went to sleep. Today was not a good day.
----
"Bye, Kyle. See you in school," I shouted through our door. I ran down to see Dad texting someone. I kissed his cheek. "Bye, Dad," I said, he kissed my forehead. "Take care, princess," he shouted, as I got in my car, ready to pick up Allisa. I texted her that I will be there in 5 minutes.
I got to her house and honked. After waiting for 5 minutes I sighed and knocked on the door. A woman a little older than my mom opened the door. "Hello, I am Kiara a friend of Allisa. Is she ready I am here to pick her up for school," I said politely. "Ohh You are the new friend she told me about," she said. "Come in dear," her mom said. "No, it's okay, could you just call her down," I said. "Sure honey, ALLISA!" her mother called.
We heard footsteps coming down. Her eyes widened looking at me. She smiled softly. "I am so sorry I am late. I am assuming you have met. Let's go, Kiara," she said dragging me out. I got in the car and she looked out the window.
"Why didn't you pick up my call?" I asked. "Oh I dozed off early," she said. "Is everything okay Allisa?" I asked. She nodded and gave me a small smile. I stopped the car in the parking lot. And I grabbed her face to look at me. That's when I looked at the huge bruise on her left cheek and all I could see is red.
"How did you get that," I asked. "Kiara, I am fine everything is okay," she started saying. "Don't make me ask you twice. I hate when people get bullied. Tell me," I said as I got out of the car and pulled her with me. "When I was walking home yesterday... Derek.." and that's all she had to say. I grabbed her and walked into school and I saw the three guys at Blake's locker.
Blake noticed me first, and when he was about to say something, I went forward and Slapped Christian right across the face. "Kiara!" Allisa shouted. Asher pulled me back, grabbing my waist.
"You idiot, you had one job!" I shouted at him. He looked at me with anger and was about to shout at me when Allisa stood in front of him. I looked at Asher and he looked at me weirdly. I got away from his arm and stood in front of Christian. "What the fu*ck was that for?" he asked.
"You are asking me?! I told you to make sure she gets home! I told you to drop her home, don't you fu*cking understand one simple statement?" I shouted at him.
Blake looked at me with horror. DID I JUST SWEAR? Oh, God! I am so sorry, I promise that it won't happen again. I turned towards the wall. Breathe in, Breathe out. Breathe in.
I was immediately pulled into a warm chest and I knew it was Kyle. "Kia," he whispered. "He slapped her Kyle. She is getting bullied just like I was. And I don't want her to go through the same things. Please Ky," I whispered tears welling up in my eyes. "Shhh, you know the drill. Breathe," he whispered. I took a deep breath. "You are strong now, aren't you? Shawn taught you how to punch right?" he said. I nodded as I started to calm down.
Once I was okay, he pulled back. Elina hugged me and I hugged her back. As soon as I pulled away I walked towards Christian as if on instinct Asher held my hand. I smiled slightly at him. "Don't worry, I won't hit him," I said. He let me go. He had guilt in his eyes as he examined Allisa's face. "You had one job, Christian," I sighed. He looked angry, and he just walked away pissed off. I sighed. "Go away people, show is over!" Elina shouted.
I sighed. "Let's get to class. And Allisa, I think you should go take Christian to the nurse's office after the first period because he is going to kill Derek," I said as I walked away. I sat in class thinking about it. How could I lose my temper?
The teacher walked in and started teaching us Calculus. And that's how I forgot about everything.
----
I sat outside under the tree, drinking my smoothie. I was in no mood to go inside for lunch. I had texted Christian a sorry message after I had taken his number from Allisa. I looked at the sky and rested my head on the tree trunk.
"You regret it, don't you?" said a deep husky voice near my ear. I shrieked, opening my eyes. "Gosh, you scared me!" I said, looking up at the tall figure standing in front of me. "Yeah, of course, I shouldn't have, but he deserved it," I said, sipping my smoothie. "You hated it that you hit him," he said as he sat down beside me.
"He is a nice guy Asher and, of course, I hate it. Hitting people is not a good thing. The other person can get badly hurt," I sighed, closing my eyes and reminiscing the memories.
"Who the fu*ck hurt you?" he asked. How did he know? I turned at him. "Stop swearing!" I said to him. I pushed my smoothie towards him. "I don't drink that sh- thing," he rephrased. I grabbed it. "Suit yourself," I laughed. "Don't change the topic, Angel," he said. I looked at him, raising my eyebrows.
"Oh, come on, you don't swear. You are a goody-two-shoes, you are nice to everyone," he said. I smiled. "What can I say? It's second nature to me," I smiled. "So tell me, who hurt you?" he asked again. "Asher, let it go, what are you going to do? Kill him," I snickered. "Yeah," he said without hesitation. I looked at him. "Stop joking, Ash," I said. "I am serious, Angel," he replied.
The bell rang. Thank you. God, you are awesome. "I will tell you some other time. It's time for English, let's go," I said. He got up and offered me his hand. I gladly took it. "Just because we had a normal conversation, doesn't mean we are friends, Wilder," he said, his deepness coming back.
I placed my hands on his shoulder and got on my tiptoes. "If you didn't consider me as a friend, you wouldn't have called me Angel, Ash. You have a heart; you just don't want to accept it. But don't worry, soon I will break down those walls," I said as I lightly kissed his cheek and walked away.
---
He didn't even show up! Now I was frustrated. Really? It's been three days, today it's Friday and he hasn't shown up to school. Christian and Blake are ignoring me like I am a plague. That's annoying. I sighed as I sat in Physics, the class where everyone was.
I looked at my phone. I had tried threatening Christian to ask him what was wrong and whatever the heck was going on. To give me Asher's number if he didn't want to tell me. But all in vain. They had even made the football team. I switched it off so it wouldn't be distracting. If he wants to ignore me two can play this game.
---
Blake and Christian sat down at the table as Kyle and they did that handshake. I rolled my eyes. "Hi Kiara," Blake smiled. I ignored him as I put in my AirPods and did my homework. I am not going to give in. Allisa gave me a sympathetic smile.
I got a text.
Loverboy Christian - Sorry. If it helps Asher forced us to ignore you.
I looked up at him and he gave me a sorry face. I ignored him and closed my books as I left. I walked out of the cafeteria and bumped into someone my books falling to the ground. I looked up to knock some sense into the person but I met me beautiful green eyes that I was searching for, for the past three days.
So he is here. I sighed as I started picking up my books when he bent down I quickly picked them up and started walking away. "Kiara... Kiara... Angel!" He snapped. I stopped for a moment I wanted to turn around and hit him for just vanishing like that but I sighed as I walked away.
---
Elina burst into the room startling me. "Hey," she said. Oh God no. "No Elina," I said. "What you don't even know what I am going to say," she said pouting. "KYLE! TAKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND AWAY!" I shouted. She threw a pillow at my face. "Look you have been sulking for 2 days Let's go to the party!" she said smiling.
"See I knew exactly what you were going to say! But I am not going anywhere," I said. "You are going with us," she said. "Elina I have homework I have to write an essay for English class," I argued. "I do not care, young lady," she said as she walked into the closet. I called Allisa. I know I am not going to able to get out of this might as well drag her.
"WE ARE GOING TO A PARTY BE READY IN AN HOUR," I said. "Well hello to you too, And I know Elina already told me," she laughed. I sighed that sneaky little..... cupcake. I sighed she came out with a dress in her hand. Great!
----
"Don't you think it's too crowded?" I asked getting out of the car. "It's Chase Daniel's party, of course, it's crowded," Elina said. "Okay ladies let's go through the rules," Kyle said. "No taking drinks from other people. Never leave your cup unattended. Don't mingle with people from outside of school. And keep your phone with you." I and Elina repeated. Allisa looked at us as she laughed. Kyle just nodded in approval.
"Allisa I hope you understand what they said," he said she nodded seriously. "Awesome! Let's go Party!" he shouted. We laughed and entered the house. Chase met us at the door. "Captian!" he shouted and smiled at us as he led us in.
Kyle went to his football team leaving us alone. "Let's go dance!" Elina dragged us. "I will join you guys in a bit," I said they nodded as I walked to the couch. I looked down at my dress. A black crop top and a black matching skirt. I sat down looking over at the dance floor to see Kyle taking Elina away. Allisa motioned me to come over and I smiled getting up.
We danced our hearts out as Don't Start Now by Dua Lipa played. We bounced moving our hips to the music. "Hey hot stuff," said a very familiar voice. I turned around to see Blake but as soon as he saw my face his eyes widened. "Kiara?" he said. "Wow you look different," he said. I laughed. "Sorry Blake this girl isn't available for you," I laughed when he started to walk away. After a while, I saw Christian and I pulled Allisa with me and I pushed her onto him. He was pissed at her but when he saw it was her he smiled.
I walked to the bar where Blake was flirting with a girl from our school. I smiled looking at them. I grabbed a beer bottle and started drinking from it as I looked around. As if it was very addicting. Within half an hour I had drunk down the whole bottle. I smiled as I started to see two Blake's.
I got down from the stool. I stumbled a bit before gaining my balance. "BLAKE!" I said giggling and put my hand around his shoulder. "Why are there two of you?" I asked pointing at the other Blake beside him.
"Kiara you are drunk!" he said. I giggled as I nodded. "A bit tipsy," I said. "Anyways... I will see you around!" I started to walk away when he pulled me back. "You aren't going anywhere like that. Both Kyle and Asher will kill me," he said dragging me to the couch.
"ASHER? He is a meanie! He ignored me for 3 days! Why would he do that I thought we were friends! But he is very angry all the time and I told him he has a heart and then he just vanished for three days. He doesn't care about me!" I said tears welling up in my eyes. WHY am I crying? My head hurts.
"Get your ass here. Kiara is drunk and I can't find Kyle anywhere!" he shouted on the phone. I giggled as I tried to slip away. "Kiara!!! Don't go anywhere!" he said pulling me down. "I swear to god Asher if you don't come here!" he said. "ASHER!!!" I slurred. "You hear that? .....Good," he said and ended the call.
"I don't want to talk to him," I pouted. "Gosh, why would you drink when you are light-weight?" he asked I just poked his foreheaded and laughed. "Can I tell you a secret?" I asked him. He looked at me weirdly and nodded. "Asher calls me Angel," I whispered. Blake's eyes widened and he smirked. "Ohh is it?" he asked I nodded. "But he hates me and he doesn't want to be my friend," I sighed.
A tall figure stood in front of us and I looked up. "YOU!" I pointed my finger at him. "You are so bad. I don't like you," I said and started to walk away.
"Thank God! I was here to have fun and get some action and I got pulled into BABYSITTING DUTY!" Blake said. "EWWW!" I said scrunching my nose at him. "Allisa is right there. Why the fu*ck did you call me?" Asher shouted at him as he pulled me to his side. And Christian as if knew we were going to take Allisa away from him pulled her onto his lap.
"Awww, They are so cute," I giggled.
"All the best boss," Blake said and ran away. I scrunched my eyebrows at him. I sighed as I wanted to move away from Asher. "What are you trying to do Angel?" he asked as he pulled me up. His hands were on my waist. My stomach had that weird feeling again.
"You ignored me for three days you don't get to come back and talk to me like everything is okay," I said pouting as I held my head which hurt.
"Did you miss me?" he smirked. "Why would I miss you? I was worried about you. I was thinking about what could have happened and I tried to even contact but you asked Christian and Blake to ignore me," I said as I pushed him and sat down on the couch.
He sighed. "Where is your brother?" he asked. I looked around but I couldn't recognise anyone and my head started to spin. He sighed as he grabbed me by my waist. "Let's get you home," he said. I threw my arms around him. He sighed picking me up bridal style. I put my head on his shoulder.
"You smell nice," I giggled. "Angel, you are drunk and you don't know what you are talking about," he said as we exited the house. I just ignored him and closed my eyes. "Where were you?" I asked. "It's not important Kiara," he said. "Were you safe?" I asked further. "Yes, I was," he replied after a while. "Good," I said and he soon put me down in the passenger seat of his car.
He buckled me up and walked to the driver's seat. "You don't want to be my friend do you?" I asked. He just ignored me. I let out a huge sigh. "Kiara can you just shut up and let me take you home?" he snapped.
"Why are you snapping at me? I should be the one mad at you! You ignored me!" I said as I held my head looks like I was sobering up. "You are going to throw up so you better shut up," he snapped. I just ignored him as I looked out of the window.
"I was out of town for work," he said breaking the silence. I turned to him. "One text," I said when he turned to me. "One text, It was that simple. Couldn't you have sent me just one text saying you were okay," I asked.
He didn't say anything and I didn't expect him to. I closed my eyes. After 10 minutes I felt us coming to a stop. I got out of the car when he rushed t my side. "Come on in," I said taking the key out from my pocket. He looked at me but hesitated. "Don't worry no one is home, My parents are out for business and Kyle will probably go to his apartment," I said.
"It's okay you are sober now you are good on your own," he said. I sighed not wanting to fight further. "See you, Monday Ash," I said. He turned around and just looked at me as I stood there at the door. After a minute he just started walking. He got into the car looked at me one last time and sped away.
What is it that he is so scared of losing that he does not want a single soul to be around him?
