Jamie's POV

Alex and I were sitting in my living room, watching The Bachelorette because why not? My mate wasn't paying attention because he was looking at my body. At first, he had been memorizing how my hair curled around his fingers. Now, he was memorizing how our hands felt together.

I watched as he interlocked our hands and his thumb would trace my knuckle in a swift motion. I smiled at him as I also felt him sifting through our bond. He was in a very affectionate mood today and I was in love with it.

"Sweetheart?" I questioned him.

"Hm?" He asked, letting his fingers run over my palm, which sent chills through my body.

"I love you."

He looked up at me with a smile. "I love you too."

At that moment, we heard footsteps on the stairs and Alex moved me closer to him. My mom wasn't home, so it could only be one person. Xavier turned the corner and smiled at us.

"Jamie, I need to go shopping today for new shoes, wanna come with me?" He asked.

I felt Alex tense and I looked up at him. He cleared his throat. "I'll go with you two."

"That wouldn't be necessary. I want some alone time with him." Xavier said, leaning his shoulder against the wall next to the stairs.

"I don't want Jamie going out without me until we get this whole hunter thing sorted out." Alex snapped.

"You can't protect him forever, Alex. Don't worry about it. I'll be right by his side the whole time."

I looked up at Alex, tightening my grip on his hand. "I'll be okay."

"Jamie, I don't think-" He started, but I cut him off by shaking my head.

"It's okay, I promise."

Xavier smiled. "Great, go get dressed and we'll leave."

I nodded and pulled Alex up as he gave me a confused look. Once my door was closed, he turned towards me. "What the hell are you doing, Jamie?"

"Maybe he'll tell me something or let details slip and we can get a true confession out of him."

"This isn't the right way to do this. Anything is better than this. I don't trust him alone with you!"

"Do you have a better plan?" I snapped, crossing my arms.

He let out a frustrated sigh. "No, but-"

"Exactly and it doesn't seem like you've been working on one while all we've been doing is sitting on the fucking couch and watching TV!" I yelled.

"Jamie, don't you fucking say stuff like that. You know that all I've been doing is trying to find a way to keep you safe!"

"If he was planning to do something, then he wouldn't do it so soon." I told him.

"He's smart, so whatever he's doing is bigger than we're probably expecting."

"Alex-"

"Goddammit, Jamie!" He yelled in his beta voice and it scared me.

I backed away from him with wide eyes. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. He closed his eyes for a second, probably trying to push his wolf back. I could tell that he's been stressing so much over keeping my safe and he's hardly been sleeping. I know I was a dick about him not thinking of a plan because I know he has. It was a heat-of-the-moment thing.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled like that. I'm just tired and I only want to keep you safe." He told me.

"I know, sweetie, I know. But if you want to keep me safe, then trust me on this. I know that this can work, I can feel it."

He walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "I love you so much, princess."

"I love you so much, darling."

He smiled at me, then gave me a deep, passionate kiss. Once he pulled away, he set his forehead on me. "If he as much as lays a hand on you, call me and I'll pick you up."

"Okay." I whispered, giving another kiss before going to change.

I changed into black joggers that were super tight around my ass and I could tell that Alex was staring at me. I slipped on a maroon shirt and gray Converse.

Alex let out a frustrated sigh again and I turned towards him. "What is it?"

"I just want to lay you down and fuck the life out of you right now, Jamie." He said, making me chuckle.

I walked over to him, giving him a super soft kiss. "Tonight, okay?"

"Okay."

I walked towards my door, but before I could turn the knob, he grabbed my arm. He spun me around to face him. He pushed me against the door, being careful of not putting too much force on my body. He was biting on his bottom lip with a lustful look in his eyes.

"Be safe, okay?" He asked, seriously.

"I will."

"I love you."

"I love you too."

I walked out of the room and he followed behind me. As we walked down the stairs, his hand slapped my butt, making me squeal in delight.

"That was so sexy." He whispered into my ear, biting my earlobe, but being careful of my earring.

"Not now, babe." I told him, giving a little growl at him.

"Wow, you sounded so tough right there." He chuckled, making fun of my growl.

"Better than what you got." I pouted.

He chuckled. I watched as his canines let out and he let out a bigger, tougher growl than me and I rolled my eyes.

"That's not fair. You're the beta." I said.

"Jamie, come on!" Xavier yelled, impatiently.

I turned to face Alex and he gave me a sad look. "I'll be okay."

"Okay." He whispered, giving me another kiss. I felt his hands run from the middle of my back down to my ass, grabbing it. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling our bodies closer. Our tongues started to run together and I made a little moaning sound.

His hand moved down to cup my thighs. He picked me up, so my legs wrapped around his waist. He pushed my body into the wall. He was careful not to move too much because we were still standing on the middle of the stairs.

I pushed on his chest a little and he whined. "Fine, fine. We'll finish this tonight."

"Hell yeah, we will." I whispered as he let me back on my feet.

I walked the rest of the way down the stairs. Xavier was sitting in the living room on the couch with his phone in his hands. He stood as I entered and put his phone in his pocket. I watched as his eyes looked over my body and I gave him a disgusted look.

Alex seemed to notice and he growled deeper, so I could feel it in my chest. "If you touch him, I'll rip you apart. He's mine."

As he said 'mine', it made my body shiver. Xavier glared at him and walked towards the front door. "Jamie, let's go."

I kissed Alex's cheek before giving him a soft smile. "I love you."

"I love you too. Be careful." He said, softly.

I gave him another smile before walking out the door with Xavier. We got into his car and he started driving to the mall. I scrolled through Snapchat on my phone until I got bored and put it in my pocket.

"What's wrong with your mate?" Xavier blurted out and I glared at him.

"Nothing is wrong with him. He's perfect." I snapped at him.

"Whatever you say, Jamie." He sighed.

"What the hell is wrong with you?"

He looked over at me and chuckled, harshly. "Jamie, all I wanna do is protect you."

"Protect me? How are you protecting me by taking me away from my mate?"

"I'm not taking you, Jay. You came on your own freewill, which means that you still trust me."

"Don't you ever call me Jay again and I definitely do not trust you. You're not the same person you were a year ago." I snapped.

"You aren't either, Jamie."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"It means that you care way too much about this Alex guy when I'm the one that should have you, not him."

I gave him a confused look. "What're you talking about?"

I heard him sigh and he parked the car. The camp was pretty close to town, so we were already there. He ordered me to get out of the car and I did. He grabbed onto my arm and I winced at the bruise that he was definitely going to give me. I let my claws grow out and he threw me against the parking garage's wall.

"Don't you dare think of doing that, Jamie."

"Why not? It'll finally get you out of my damn life!"

"Because if you do that, me and my hunters are going to kill your mate." He threatened.

"I knew it was you." I bit out.

"Of course it's me and don't think I won't hesitate in ordering one of my guys to snap your little mate's neck when he least expects it."

Panic shot through my body and I shook my head. "Don't hurt him, please. He's everything to me."

"Then you're gonna listen to my conditions and I'll leave him alone." He said, moving closer to my body that was still pressed against the wall.

"Okay, whatever you want, just don't hurt him."

"I won't be the one hurting him." He said, chuckling.

I knew exactly what he was thinking when he said it. I had been thinking about his previous words that he had said before we had gotten out of the car. ...you care way too much about this Alex guy when I'm the one that should have you, not him.

"You want me to leave him for you."

"Exactly. Once that's done, you'll come with me to my house where you'll be protected by my guards."

"Xavier, I'm happy with Alex. Why won't you just let me stay with him?" I pleaded.

I saw his eyes change to their orange color and he growled. "You'll be happier with me!"

I nodded, not wanting to upset his wolf. "Okay, okay, I'll go with you. I'll do what you say. Just don't hurt Alex and don't hurt my pack."

"Take out your phone." He demanded.

"Promise me you won't hurt them and I will."

He groaned. "Fine, I won't, now-"

"Neither will your guards or hunters or whoever else there is." I interrupted him.

"Fine, now take our your phone."

I squeezed my eyes shut. Hating what I had to do. He took out a bottle with an amberish liquid in it and I gave him a confused look. "What's that?"

"It'll make entering your mating bond extremely painful and basically impossible. You'll drink one every hour and if I find out that you spit one out, I'll kill him. Now, drink it."

I took the bottle from him and sighed, drinking it. It tasted disgusting and it almost made me throw up, but I knew he would really hate that. I took out my phone and he nodded in approval.

"Now, you're going to write out a quick message saying that he's too much for you and you would rather be with me."

I sighed. "Okay."

"I'm watching everything you do, Jamie. Don't think of doing something stupid." He motioned to my phone and I started typing.

After our fight this afternoon, I realized that everything between us has become to much. Everything happened so fast, Alexander. I'll be away for awhile. I'm sorry.

"Good job. I'm gonna take your phone, so you don't do something stupid."

He snatched my phone and I realized that this was becoming way too serious. He was kidnapping me. He was gonna make me act like his boyfriend and acknowledge him like some fucking master. But I know that I would do anything to protect my baby and my pack. I would stay with Xavier forever if it meant that everyone else would be safe.
