Chapter 11: Double Date

Jamie's POV

I woke up in the morning to feel Alex's hands running along my sides. I turned in his arms, so I was facing him. He gave me a soft smile and leaned down, kissing me.

It's been about two weeks since we needed to get his medicine changed and he's been doing pretty good. The first week was kinda've hell because of his mood swings with being on a new pill.

"Good morning, darling." I whispered, leaning up and giving him a quick kiss.

"Good morning."

I heard my phone vibrate on my nightstand. I groaned before I grabbed it up. It was a message from Gavin.

Wanna have a double date today, nerd???

I chuckled and looked up at Alex. Would he want to hang out with my friends? Would he think their annoying or not good for his reputation?

"Jamie, I would love to hang out with your friends." Alex whispered and I realized that he was in my head to see what I was thinking and I was actually grateful for it.

"Really?"

"Of course. They're who you associate your life with. I want to hang out with them."

I smiled. "Thank you, baby."

sure, come pick us up at mi casa bitch

"You can be so weird." Alex whispered as he was looking at my phone.

"Thanks." I said, chuckling.

We got up and changed into clothes. Alex brought clothes with him, so that he didn't have to walk home because he knew I wanted to actually get out of the house today.

I was wearing an ivory Hardy Amies shawl cardigan with a white undershirt, black skinny jeans, and Lacoste shoes. Alex was wearing a light blue t-shirt, dark blue skinny jeans, and white Converse.

I checked my phone and looked up at Alex. "They're here, my darling."

He smiled and grabbed my hand as we walked out of my house. We climbed into Gavin's car and I leaned over, kissing his cheek. Alex glared at me and I chuckled.

"That's how we greet each other, sweetie. Deal with it."

"Sorry, Alex." Gavin said as he pulled out of my driveway.

"Hey, Benji. How are you?" I asked him.

He smiled at me and blushed a little bit. "I'm good, how are you?"

"I'm great. Do you know where we're going?" I asked, trying to include him because I felt bad for one of my best friends. He doesn't normally put in his opinion unless he's asked too.

"We're trying out a new restaurant that my mom took me to last week. It's really good. Is that okay with you?" He asked me.

I smiled. "It sounds great, babe."

He smiled and Gav took the hand that he was holding of Benji's and kissed it. He seemed to visibly relax and Alex gave me a confused look. I've never really talked to him and Benji.

He's very shy and his self-esteem is low. I mind linked to him.

Why's that? He asked me.

His dad was really mean to him as a little kid. He forced him to stay inside all the time and never have friends. I was one of his first friends, so Gav and I are used to including him in everything, so he doesn't feel like we're leaving him.

He sighed and nodded. That's terrible.

I know, but that's just how he was taught. His mom left his dad when Benji was about 12 because he saw how messed up he had gotten.

Alex gave me another confused look. Is he human?

Yeah, sorry, forgot to mention that.

"Oh, okay." He said and kissed my cheek.

Gav pulled up in front of a restaurant and we got out together. Gav and Benji sat across from us at a booth and we ordered our food. Gav had to order Benji's because he was very, very indecisive.

"So have you found an apartment?" I asked the couple across from me because after graduation, they were planning to move in together.

"We've been looking, but we're waiting to make a decision until after graduation, so we know how much money we have to actually find a good quality home for us." Gavin said.

"You're moving in together?" Alex asked, taking a sip of his drink.

"Yep, we decided a couple months ago that we wanted to get away from home."

"Wow, that's awesome." Alex said.

"What about you guys? What's new with you?"

I looked at Alex and he looked at me. I looked back at Gavin. "Nothing really."

"How're you doing on your new medicine?" Benji whispered to Alex. I saw Gavin take his hand in his and Benji blushed, lightly.

"I'm doing pretty good, actually. Last week was pretty rough, but I'm doing a lot better."

"That's good."

"Jamie, I don't want to talk about this here, but I keep forgetting it." Gavin said to me.

"What is it?" I whispered, even though I already knew what he was talking too.

"You don't want to hang out on your dad's death anniversary, right? You just want to be alone?"

I felt around for Alex's hand and once he realized what I was doing, he grabbed my hand in both of his. "I prefer to be alone."

"Jamie, we all want to help you get past that day without any-"

"Can we not talk about this here?" I asked, squeezing my eyes shut.

"Yeah, yeah, sorry."

I felt my eyes sting and I refused to open them, so I put my head down. Alex tightened his grip on my hand. Benji cleared his throat. "We'll be back."

Once they were gone, Alex wrapped his arms around me in a hug. "You're okay."

"I want you with me on that day. Not Gavin. He'll just try and cheer me up and that's impossible on that day."

"Okay. We can stay in bed and watch movies all day."

"And nap?" I whispered, finally opening my eyes.

"Anything you want."

"Thank you, honey."

He nodded. "Of course."

I stayed in his arms until Benji and Gavin came back. Gavin cleared his throat. "I'm sorry, Jamie. I shouldn't have brought it up."

"I-It's fine."

He nodded, knowing that I didn't want to talk about it anymore. "So we should go to the park after this, just sit and watch the sunset and be fucking cliché."

I chuckled. "Sounds great."

Alex was rubbing circles on my knee to soothe me. He looked up at Gavin. "What's something I probably don't know about you and Jamie?"

Before I could stop what Gavin was saying, he blurted it out. "I gave him a blowjob once."

My eyes widened in fear and Alex looked over at me. "Are you fucking serious?"

"Alex, it was one time and it was a long time ago." I whispered.

"Does that fucking matter? You were friends with benefits with this guy and you expect me to have a casual dinner with him?" He said, starting to raise your voice.

"Babe-"

"Don't call me that." He snapped that it caused tears to burn my eyes.

"I didn't tell you because I knew you wouldn't meet him for me."

"Hell no, I would not have come if I knew. This fucker touched you like how I should. That's not fucking okay, Jamie."

"Alex, I'm sorry. I regret it." I whispered to him.

"Get the fuck out of the booth. I'm leaving."

"No! Alex, please, no." I begged him.

I yelped when Alex pushed me, so I fell onto my ass. He shot up and stormed out of the restaurant. Gavin and Benji came over, helping me up from the ground.

"Are you okay?"

"Why'd you tell him?" I screamed at Gavin.

His eyes widened. "Because I didn't think he would freak out. It happened one fucking time, Jamie. I don't know why he got so worked up over it."

"Because he loves me and he's jealous if I even look at another guy!" I yelled.

"Jamie, it's going to be okay." Benji whispered to me.

"That's what you fucking think, but you don't know him like I do. He's scared of losing me and this is going to scare him even more because he's going to be nervous to even let me be alone with your boyfriend." I snapped at Benji, which was the worst thing you can ever do.

Benji is super sensitive, especially because what he mostly remembers from his father was the yelling he constantly got. Benji looked down as tears gathered in his eyes. Gavin looked up at me in shock and disgust as he hugged his boyfriend.

"Benji, baby, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I'm mad and I took it out on you. I'm sorry. I regret every word. Just calm down. I'm not mad at you."

"You're not mad at me?" He whispered to me.

I gave him a small smile. "Of course not."

"I was just trying to help." He said and Gavin wiped his tears away.

"I know, honey, I'm sorry. I took it out on you. I didn't mean too. I just say things without realizing that I don't mean it, okay?"

He nodded. "Okay."

"You're okay, baby." Gavin whispered to him, kissing his forehead.

"I'm sorry, Gavin, I shouldn't have taken it out on you either. I should've told him about our past together before letting him meet you. I knew it would come up and I didn't prepare him. I'm sorry."

"It's okay, but never, ever yell at my mate again." He snapped at me with so much seriousness in his voice that it immediately made me submit to his words.

"Yes, yes, I know. Never. I never will. It's the worst thing I could ever do."

Benji moved out of Gavin's arms and motioned for a hug. I pulled him into my arms and ran my hands through his hair because I knew it sent chills through his tiny body.

"I am so sorry, Benji."

"It's okay." He whispered, tightening his grip on me.

"I love you both, but I really have to go calm Alex down." I said, passing Benji back to his mate.

Gavin nodded. "Of course, good luck."

I nodded at both of them and ran out of the restaurant. I followed Alex's scent into the woods.

I walked through the woods. I found him by a lake that's pretty close to camp. He was sitting on the ground with his head in his hands.

"You know.. when we met in that music store, the only thoughts running in my heads were about how we were going to live a perfect life together. Now, I realize that a 'perfect life' is unrealistic. There's going to be bumps and this is only one of them."

"Jamie, don't." He whispered.

"I love you, Alex, and I know that you love me too. Because of your feelings towards me, shouldn't you forget about what my best friend said to you?"

"It's not that fact of what he did. It's that he did it and you didn't tell me before I met him."

"Alex, it's a fucking blowjob. I don't know why you're overreacting. It's not like we fucked on his bed a couple weeks ago or anything like that."

I watched as Alex stood up and walked over to me. He pushed on my chest, so I was against a tree. He pushed me a little too hard into the wood and I could feel the bark digging into my back.

"Jamie, don't you fucking dare say that to me. You know I get jealous by anyone touching you, you know that."

"A-Alex..." I started.

"Don't," he said, pushing me even harder. "don't say anything. I'm mad and jealous that he touched you in an intimate way."

"Alex, y-you're hurting me."

His eyes widened and he moved away from me. I walked away from the tree and I could feel pain in my back. He put his fingers on my chin and moved my head up so I was looking at him.

"I love you, Jamie. I don't want to know that your best friend touched you like that because you're mine."

I shivered at the way he said 'mine' and smiled. "Yes, I'm yours, baby."

"I'm sorry I freaked out and pushed you out of the booth." He whispered, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"It's fine." I said, giving him a soft smile.

"It's not. I should've stayed and we should've talked about it. How can I make it up to you?"

I smiled. "You'll see tonight."

He smirked. "Hm, I like what you're thinking."

I chuckled, leaning up and giving him a kiss. He pulled away too fast and I groaned. He chuckled, kissing my forehead.

"I love you, Jamie." He whispered to me.

"I love you too."

I pulled him over to sit in front of the lake. I sat myself between his legs and leaned against his chest. His hands automatically went into my hair.

"We're okay, right?" I whispered.

"Of course."
