Avas POV.
I just arrived at Sunny Side Daycare. I quickly got out of the car and practically ran to the door. "Jeez Ava slow down" Sean yelled but I wasn't paying attention. I opened the door and ran up to the counter. "Hi I'm Ava Parker" I said breathlessly. "My daughter Kylie's sick." "Oh yes she's in here." The kind lady led me and Sean into the nurses office where Kylie was laying in the little cot. I walked up to her and brushed her hair out of her face. "Mommy" she said faintly. "Yes honeybee I'm here. Let's go home." She nodded slowly as she closed her eyes. I wrapped my arms around her picking her up gently and walked back out to the car. I put her in her car seat and strapped her in. Sean and I got back in the car and started to drive home. I couldn't stop thinking about Gabe. Where did he go? How did he know my name? We don't have any classes together. In fact, I've never even seen him until this morning. Ugh, why was I overthinking this? He probably went home sick or something. Or maybe he's just playing you Ava. No we just met why would he play me, more importantly why am I still thinking about this?! I turned around to check on Kylie to see her fast asleep. I turned back around and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and tried to relax. Maybe I just need to forget about it.  You can't forget about me Ava. I won't let you. I let out a gasp as my heart sped up. Was that Gabe's voice I just heard? " Babe, you ok?" "Y-yeah I'm fine just tired" I looked at him and put on a convincing smile. He nodded not fully believing me but thankfully he didn't push it. "You're a great mom Ava. You know that right?" "Yes I know, thank you Sean" I smiled. "And you know that I'm always here for you right?" This time I grew a little suspicious. Sean was being sentimental, Sean's never sentimental. "Sean why are you saying all this?" He looked at me then back at the road. "I don't know. I just feel like I don't say that sappy stuff to you and also, just because I don't say it, doesn't mean I don't believe it." I smiled and took his hand and kissed his knuckles. "I know baby." He smiled and I tried to calm my nerves. Calm down Ava. You're just stressed, it's ok just calm down. I took a deep breath as we pulled into the driveway. He's right Ava. You are a great mom but Kylie needs her dad...her real dad.
