Extra #6-The Part With Kat

Katerina Kolosov's POV

I entered the kitchen and I almost walked back out when I was greeted with one of the most horrible scenes in my life. My mom was trying to prepare breakfast but my dad who was just dressed in his boxers and a black tee was distracting her by kissing her neck while his hands were on her waist.

"Your daughter is in the room." I announced as I tried to hold my disgust in and immediately, my dad pulled away from my mom and smirked at me. "Kitty Kat, you're such a cockblock."

I gagged and mom turned bright red and slapped my dad's chest, "Slade!" My dad exploded into laughter before leaving the kitchen.

Shaking my head, I perched onto one of the counter stools on the island counter and asked. "Anyway, it's my eighteenth birthday and I want to get a tattoo."

My mom turned around and frowned as her curls bounced, "What? Why do you suddenly want one?"

"I thought it looks cool." I stated and my mom pursed her lips, "I don't really approve of you getting one. It isn't ladylike for you to have a tattoo."

"I'm not ladylike and besides dad has tattoos." I replied and pointed out and my mother frowned as she tried to think of a response. "And I also know you think dad's tattoos are sexy." I smirked and added.

My mother flushed and rolled her eyes, "They are but I don't really approve of you getting one. And well your dad is a bad example."

I choked back a laugh when my dad entered the kitchen fully dressed and scowled. "Excuse me?"

My mom turned red and she continued preparing breakfast by slicing some pieces of bacon. "Well you are. Our eldest daughter wants to get a tattoo."

My dad raised his eyebrows, "Well I'm staying out of this conversation. And how are my tattoos a bad example? I have your name tattooed on my ring finger if I remember correctly."

"Well I thought it was beautiful and romantic but I'm not exactly okay with Kat getting one." She protested and my dad took off his wedding ring and studied the inked lettering of my mother's name as he leaned onto the kitchen counter beside my mom.

"Hmmm. It is beautiful but I bet what is under those clothes is even more beautiful." He flirted and I wrinkled my nose in disgust and my mom slapped his chest lightly, "Knock it off and especially not in front of Kat!"

"Yeah especially not in front of Kat." I mocked and my dad shot me a playful glare. "Quiet Kitty Kat." He shot at me and slid the ring back onto his finger.

My mom rolled her eyes and frowned, "Where's Charlie and Seb?"

"So can I get a tattoo?" I asked impatiently and my mother answered, "No. Of course not."

I turned to my dad, "Dad?" My father gave me a shrug, "I'm going to say no because if I say yes I'll be sleeping on the couch for quite a while."

I groaned and glared at him. "That's totally unfair and not a valid reason!" I exclaimed and he flashed me a smug grin. "It definitely is. I can't have sex with your mom on the sofa."

"SLADE KOLOSOV!" My mother gasped in horror as she glared at my dad who was trying not to laugh. Once again, I cringed in disgust and mom started yelling at my dad. "One more-"

"Mom! Tell Seb to go away!" Charlie yelled as she stomped into the kitchen, her strawberry blonde curls flying behind her. My mom raised an eyebrow and my dad sat beside me and tossed his gun beside him on the dining table and passed his phone to me.

I raised an eyebrow and dad pointed onto the picture of a pretty sapphire necklace, "Think your mother will like this? Our wedding anniversary is coming up." He asks as Charlie complained about Sebastian ruining her room thus, mom wasn't paying attention to us.

"Yeah. It's pretty." I offered and my dad shot me a smug grin. "I know." He turned his phone off and slid it back into his pocket and I sighed impatiently. "So? Can I get one?"

Before my dad could reply, Charlotte's twin brother-Sebastian entered the room and scowled at Charlie. "Mom! She's lying!"

My mother started reprimanding them firmly and before I knew it, the twins came bearing breakfast. I sighed and flicked my hair behind my ears. "Dad, please say I can get one?" My dad sighed as he replied, "You know I don't mind. But your mother would banish me to the sofa for years if I allowed you to get one."

"Guns off the table."

My mother ordered with a pointed stare before setting the table. Dad sighed and kept his gun before grumbling under his breath.

Mom placed a plate of French toast in front and me and gave me a grin, "I'm sorry that you're not getting your tattoo but your dad and I got you another present. Right Slade?"

My dad shrugged and pulled out a small square box. I raised my eyebrows at it and my mom laughed. "Wait, till I turn the stove off before opening it!"

My hands itched to unwrap the box and I looked at my siblings who were once bickering again about stupid things. "Stop stealing my bacon! You have your own!" Charlie scowled at Seb who in return shoved the said bacon into his mouth obnoxiously.

"Mom!" I turned to look at my dad who was watching the pair with an amused smirk. "Dad! Seb hit me!"

Dad sighed and gave them one pointed stare. "Charlie, if Seb hits you, hit him back. And if he takes your bacon, take his one. It's fair."

Now that Charlotte was reaching fourteen, she was stating to look more and more like our mother with her strawberry blonde curls and big brown eyes. But she had some of our dad's facial features with his high cheekbones and mischievous smile. Sebastian on the other had looked exactly like our father except that he had our mother's prettier facial features but I was sure that when he was older, he would be a ladies man like our dad had been before meeting our mom.

Mom entered the room and beamed happily at me, "Alright you can open it now that I'm here!"

I opened the little package and gasped as I saw the set of car keys in it. "Are you serious?" I asked disbelievingly and Dad smirked at me, "Serious as hell."

"Swear jar." My mother called as she disappeared back into the kitchen. My dad grumbled and shoved a dollar into the jar.

I couldn't help but smirk at my dad who stared insolently at the infamous glass jar that had gotten me Buffy, our family's female husky who was now ten years old.

The twins clamoured to see the keys and Seb straightened hopefully, "Can I have a car when I'm sixteen?"

My dad turned to him and said shortly, "No, when you're eighteen." At my dad's response, Seb scowled but my dad grinned, "Maybe a motorbike, but don't let your mother know."

I made my way to the garage and mumbled, "Holy fuck." I stared at the gleaming black convertible in our garage in disbelief. This was way better than a tattoo.

"Swear jar." My mother automatically answered and I sighed as I fished a dollar from my pockets and placed it in her hand.

"I can't believe you got me a car!" I stared at the black vehicle in awe and unlocked the car. My mom beamed at me, "Well, you're going to college soon and I don't know why you're not choosing to stay in the dormitories and you have to travel back and forth so much but here it is." My mother beamed once again.

"I know you're itching to get behind the wheel so go ahead and take a drive. Just be back for dinner later. Your uncle will be here tonight."

I wrinkled my nose, "Which uncle?" At my dad's face, I already knew who was coming. "My brother. Your Uncle Alexi and Slade, please please be nice." Mom stressed and dad had an innocent expression on his face.

"I'm always nice. It's your brother who can't keep his fucking mouth shut." Dad grumbled and by the expression on my mother's face, dad fucked up. Again.

"Swear jar!" My mother snapped and turned back to the house and I whistled, "Way to go!" I mocked and grinned as my dad shot me a scowl, "Knock it off Kitty Kat, help me buy a bottle of red wine please?"

I sighed, "Alright." I knew my dad was little sulky that my uncle-his brother-in-law was popping by. They never got along. I guess it was because of some feud that went on between them before my dad married my mom.

My uncle didn't like my dad and disliked the idea of my mom marrying him but I guess he had yet to get over it. So every year, Uncle Alexi would come over and he would leave scathing remarks about my dad or what a terrible job he had done by raising us and stuff.

But to me, I thought that my dad was perfect and he always let it slide when Uncle Alexi insulted him indirectly. But last year, my dad had finally lost his patience and snapped back that he was completely useless during my mother's abduction-before I was born-and things escalated.

Fortunately, my dad's twin brother, Grayson was way better and more courteous. And he would always get little gift for my siblings and I whenever he visited.

Dad grumbled under his breath and stalked back into the house to most probably grovel at my mom's feet. I slid into the car, enjoying the feel of the leather seats and inserted the key in and drove off.

***

Dinner came and went and as usual, Uncle Alexi continued to make scathing remarks but finally stopped when my mom snapped at him. I didn't particularly like him but he was family and family was important.

Now, Uncle Alexi was gone and I was in my room. and I lay down on my bed wishing time would speed up so I could go to college with Lexi. Also known as Alexandria Doukas.

A smile crossed my face at the thought of my best friend. Lexi and were best friends since we were kids and she was the softer and shyer one out of the two of us. But a blush crossed my face at the thought of her brother.

Lexi had older brothers that were twins- Roman and Raphael. All of us had grown up together with Trevor and Savannah. I touched my lips unconsciously as if it was just yesterday that I had kissed Raphael Doukas.

It had been a mistake and I've long since pretended it didn't happen. But it had been the best kiss of my life. For Raphael? I guess he thought it was weird kissing his little's sister best friend. But for me at that time, I thought it was amazing until I had gone home and reflected about it.

That was when I realised it was a mistake. Kissing Raphael Doukas was a horrible and terrible mistake. But that was almost three years ago and I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't remember something so silly as that mere kiss.

Maybe that was why I wanted to quickly go to college, there were boys and college parties and maybe, I could move on from that amazing kiss that was a mistake.

Feeling thirsty, I left my room and entered the kitchen to get some water before heading to bed when I could hear some laughter and giggling in the living room.

Deciding to investigate, I peeped into the living room to see my parents dancing with each other and laughing. Soft classical music was playing and there were two glasses of red wine on the table.

My mom was holding onto my dad as he twirled her around the room and she laughed softly at that and beamed up at him.

The music came to an end and both of them exchanged smiles and leaned forward to kiss each other. A small smile creeped onto my face and I continued making my way back to my room.

I was glad that my parents were together. Growing up, some of my friend's parents had split up. I was happy that my parents were still deeply in love with each other through two decades of marriage.

I did my nightly routine and got into bed and I glanced at the photo frames on my bedside table. One was of my family and the other with Lexi and the rest of the people I had grown up with. My eyes lingered on Raphael's face and I scowled.

I didn't like that I was still harbouring on that kiss with him. Going to college would definitely change things. I could forget about Raphael when there would be other fishes in the sea. With that thought, I closed my eyes and slept.
