Today was hectic. Fun, but hectic.  I can't wait to tell my parents about my little meeting with Principal Montgomery. I know dad would be slightly pleased but mom would be over the moon, just like I am.

As I exit the school doors, I look around but I can't seem to find Chloe. I send her a quick text and roll my eyes when she replies saying her and Angus are on their way to Milky's. I tell her to grab me something and bring it by when they're done with their date.

Guess I'm walking alone today.

I place my phone in my back pocket and begin my walk home. This was a perfect time to think about things. To clear my mind of Zed. And what about Jesse? There's so much going on in my life.

Speaking of the devil.

"Hey" Jesse greets me, getting up off one of the parked cars and making his way towards me.

"Hi..Jesse" I reply, continuing to walk. Is he gonna stop me or walk with me?

"Rose. I need to - um, can I walk with you?" He asks, looking around the place weirdly.

I looked at him in confusion then nodded my head in approval.

"Yeah sure."

"Great! Because I wanna know why you ditched me last night" He blurts out, sighing at me.

"Would you keep your voice down!" I exclaim, looking around frantically to see if anyone might have heard.

"Relax" Jesse laughs, resting his arm on my shoulders. "No one's following us."

"Well, for your information, it wasn't last night. I..left this morning" I said shyly, looking at the ground as we continued to walk home.

Jesse stopped in his tracks and turned me to face him with one swift motion. His hands were around my neck now.

"You're telling me that you stayed till this morning? Why couldn't you have just waited till I woke up? You're heartless" He tells me, pretending to be hurt. He removes his hands from me and places them on his chest.

"Oh, don't be so dramatic! You were sleeping like a baby" I laughed, then continued walking.

"Did you leave because you woke up and saw that you were cuddling the half naked hottie next door?" Jesse teases, pinching my right cheek.

I swat his hand away and gave him an annoyed look.

"Is that what you've nicknamed yourself? For real?" I asked before bursting out in laughter.

Jesse tries his hardest not to laugh but fails and joins in, his laugh much louder than mine.

I clutched my stomach as I struggled to catch my breath. It felt so good to laugh this loud again. It's been ages, I guess.

"What? I mean, I am your neighbor. I was half naked and I'm hot" He explains, shrugging.

"Uh huh. Yep" I respond, shaking my head. This guy.

"W-what you don't think I'm hot, Rose?" He asks, taking off his jacket to reveal a white, fitted t-shirt underneath. It looked a little tight as his muscles did more than just peak through.

A bunch of girls that passed by in a car had their phones out and they were screaming, asking Jesse to call them. He let out a little laugh and gave them a wave, which made them scream more.

I swear I have no idea why they act like that. It's ridiculous.

"I never said you weren't hot" I finally reply after his moment of fame was over. I pulled out my phone to see if Chloe was coming over anytime soon, my throat was dry and craving for some shake.

We were now entering our street.

"Aha! I knew you thought I was hot all along. You're so bad at this, Rose!" Jesse exclaims, pulling me closer to his side by my bag pack.

My heart began to beat faster, just like it does everytime we were close. I chose to pay no attention to it and question him instead.

"Um, what are you doing?" I ask quietly as he had me pinned under his heavy arm.

"We're going to take a selfie. Hold your phone up" He replies smartly, holding up his phone infront of us.

I did as he asked and held my phone up aswell, ready to take the picture.

"Ready?" He asked.

"3...2..1 smile" I said, and took the shot.

Jesse lowers his hand and examines the picture he took.

"Perfect" He mutters, smiling to himself.

I watch as he heads left to his house without another word. I put my phone away again and waited on my driveway for Chloe to arrive.

Jesse's attitude confuses me. One minute he's laughing and hanging with me and the next he's punching people in the face and hiding away from the world because of Lyla. It's like, I never know what he's gonna do next and it scares me. If he gets back with Lyla, my heart would surely break again. My ice cold heart is melting and I'm so scared of being hurt.

"Why on earth do you look like that?!" Chloe blurts out, rushing over to me with a large shake in her hand.

I look at her and sigh, wrapping my arms around her. I rest my chin on her shoulder as she strokes my hair, holding me tight. She doesn't say a word but I know she understands. She has always understood.

After about a minute she stops touching my hair and speaks.

"It's Jesse, isn't it?"

I don't reply, I simply nod.

"Ohhh Rose! Let's go inside, we've got alot to talk about" she says calmly, pulling me inside my house. I manage to make it inside the house then drag my butt up the stairs. Val saw us as we were walking up so she decided to follow behind. I'm so thankful for these two.

Soon as we were all in my room, Val shut the door. I kicked off my boots and dropped my bag before jumping on the bed. Chloe does the same. She hands me my shake and I take a nice, long sip. I close my eyes as the cold liquid goes down my throat.

"Mmm, much better" I mumble to myself before taking another long sip.

"Okay, I'm officially worried. What's going on?" Valerie asks, her hands cupping my face.

I put the drink down and look between her and Chloe hesitantly. I never thought I'd say this. I exhale loudly and drop my gaze to focus on the pale sheets.

"I like Jesse."
