Adam's P.O.V.

1995 came and went now it's 1996 and this year is gonna be filled with craziness. Tonight was the last night that I'll ever play hockey as a duck. It's making me so sad knowing that this my last game before college. I'm going to miss playing with the ducks so much. It's the only team that's ever accepted me as a real person not just a hockey player.

I was walking to the locker room and saw Becca sitting there crying. I ran over to her and pulled her into my arms.

"Becca what's wrong?" I asked.

"This is our last game as ducks! This is actually happening Adam and I'm scared! Graduation is in 5 months and everyone is leaving! To make matters worse we'll have to see McGill for 4 years! I don't know if I can handle it!" She sobbed.

I've never seen her like this and it scared me to know she felt like this.

"Becca look at me. No matter what happens I'll be there with you. Like I said before, once a duck always a duck. We just have to focus on the present, not the future. We're always gonna see the ducks no matter what happens to all of us. I love you and I know we're gonna get through this like we always do."

She nodded her head and I kissed her temple.

"I don't know where I'd be without you. I love you too Adam." She gave me a kiss and got up to get dressed.

Soon all the ducks came in but instead of there being happy faces they were replaced with nervous and sad expressions.

"What's wrong with everyone?" Coach Orion said as he entered the locker room.

"This is our last game Coach." Connie said.

"I know but I don't want sad expressions in here! This is your last chance to show everyone who the ducks are! This is your chance to shine as seniors. Also there's someone who wants to say something to you guys." He stopped talking and Coach Bombay entered the locker room. We all cheered.

"Ducks. Tonight is the last game of your high school career and as ducks. I'm so proud of each and every one of you! Without you guys I would still be that uptight, arrogant lawyer. I've watched you all grow into mature adults and I couldn't be more happier! Now Orion is right, no sad expressions! Play like that very first game! Once a duck always a duck!" He said as we all started crying. He was tearing up too.

We all hugged each other and cried.

"Now let's hunt some goose eggs one last time!" Coach Orion cheered.

We all cheered and exited the locker room to take on our last game as ducks.

"QUACK QUACK QUACK!"
