Becca's P.O.V.

Today was the worst practice I've ever had! I was clumsy and tripping all over myself. To make matters worse, Charlie wouldn't even acknowledge Adam and I.

Adam met up with me after practice outside the locker room. I talked to Connie and Julie while I was waiting for him.

"I have never seen Charlie this upset since freshman year when he lost is captain position!" Connie said.

"But you know Charlie once he calms down he'll be okay with this." Julie replied.

"I know it's just I didn't want to tell him this way ya know? Adam and I were going to tell him right before school started back." I said as started to tear up. They both pulled me into a hug and comforted me.

Adam finally finished and pulled me into a hug. I cried onto his chest and he kissed my forehead.

"I love you baby girl no matter what happens." He said to me.

"I love you too!" I said.

We both pulled away once we saw Charlie. He glared at us but that look was also the look of heartache and betrayal. I killed me inside to know that Adam and I caused that pain without meaning to.

"Can you walk me home tonight?" I asked.

"Of course baby girl anything for you!" He said with a smile.

As we walked, I kept having that image of Charlie in my head. I was so scared that I lost my brother forever. When we approached the door, Adam pulled me into a hug. We stayed there for a while not wanting to let go knowing that what once I get in that door, all hell would break loose. He kissed me goodnight as he left to go back to his house.

Once I stepped into that door, Charlie and my mom were right there waiting.

"Charlie I'm so sorry I didn't tell you about Adam. We were going to tell you but we were scared with how you would react." I said as I started crying.

"That gives you no right to lie to me Becca especially if it involves my best friend! He'll only break your heart! He goes through girls like clothes!"  Charlie yelled.

"I'm sorry okay? I knew you'd become over protective of me but I'm tired of you protecting me all the fucking time! I'm not a little girl anymore! Adam and I love each other very much! He would do anything for me and I would do anything for him! He would never hurt me!! If you don't approve of our relationship then I don't want you in my life anymore!" I yelled as I looked at him dead in the eye.

All of a sudden I felt a sting on my face. He slapped me. Charlie slapped me on the face. I stared at him in shock.

"Charles Conway!!" My mom yelled.

"Becca I'm-" Charlie said as he realized what he just did.

"Fuck you Charlie don't ever talk to me again!!"

I immediately ran out the door and ran to the only place I wanted to be at: Adam's house.
