moondance
thief au
The night was young, the moon barely up the horizon and lazily shined its bright moonlight on the earth like a blanket. The stars twinkled and shined, showing the world it's bright glory. The large silver castle hummed along the winds and music that echoed in its hallways. It almost appeared the halls and rooms were alive. The lights flickered and shined creating such an alluring aura.
Inside the stunning castle was gold trims and the finest wines. The food was exquisite and divine, with the nobles and royalty milking in silver and gold. They swayed with glasses of bubbly champagne and the music humming in the air. Everyone was conversing amongst themselves, laughing and smiling drunkenly, their bodies nearly pressed against each other.
It was a sight the woman dreaded, her hand swirling the cup of red wine. Her dress was an ebony black, with a slit on her right leg. The sleeves off her shoulders with the air kissing her shoulders. The dress hugging her in all the right places, with her curves and edges so snuggled in the fabric. She wore black heels and white Pearl earrings that dangle from her ears. Her hair was short and kept to her chin but with bouncing curls. Finally a white diamond choker was wrapped around her neck.
The woman took a sip of her wine before placing it on a tray that was passing by. Her heels clicked as she walked around the ballroom. Her eyes flickering around the room while she gave a smile to any eyes that pry on her. Her lipstick red and lustful, nearly tempting every man in the ballroom to grab a taste of her lips. But one look at her cold eyes brought them to stand back. It was like they were filled with a blazing fire, ready to devour its prey. It's flames ready to lick and consume the poor prey into ashes.
She meant business.
"Miss!"
The woman turned her head the moment a smooth warm hand grabbed forearm. She fluttered her eyes lashes, them kissing her cheeks. The man looked at her with a charming smile. Two dimples proudly indenting his tan cheeks. He wasn't wearing any fancy suit, instead an all black outfit of a dress shirt and trousers. His shirt was tucked in, his sleeves rolled up and two buttons undone to showcase a skim of his skin. His eyes a cool coal color, his hair silver and long, but only long enough for a mullet. It was pulled back to expose his glorious forehead.
"Ah. My apologies, you are the prince?" The woman asked, bowing her head. The man let go of her arm and widen his smile.
"Yes. What is your name? I've never seen you here before."
"Y/n Min. I'm here on behalf of my brother who has fallen ill and couldn't make it tonight. His name is Lord Yoongi. You might've heard of him?" Y/n gave a smile, her hands crossed over her stomach while on hand brushed against the dagger that hidden on her right thigh.
"Ah yes! Min Yoongi. I didn't know he had such a beautiful sister."
Y/n only widen her smile, fluttering her eyes lashes to appease him. She knew her beauty, and she knew how to use it. Very well.
"You are far too kind your highness. Why you have such a grand ball for your birthday. You turn 24 this year correct?"
"Yes. I'm glad you could make it, please I hope your brother feels better and enjoy the party."
Y/n bowed her head, raising it up.
"Thank you your majesty, I will. Now if you excuse me." She turned her heel and left the crowd. Once far enough, Y/n harden her stare and dropped her sweet smile.
"He knows Min Yoongi? Right you are not fooling anyone, Namjoon." Y/n muttered angrily. Her lips as red as the anger that brew inside her. Despite her anger fueling her, she stayed poised. Her back straight while she flashed smiles at people. The moment she went into a long quiet hallway, she dropped her smile again and pressed on her ear pierce that hid behind her bouncing hair.
"Yoongi?"
"What is it?"
"What to hear what the prince say?"
The male laughed bitterly in her ear, she could almost seeing him shaking his head.
"I already did princess. He remembers me? I'm almost flatter but I truly doubt his words. There's no way he remembers the businesses we did. If so, he's probably happy your there and not me. I'm starting to wonder if I should've gone."
"Now don't be hasty Yoon. It has to be me. With your face I'm sure a lot of people are after your head."
"Perhaps your right darling but what is your plan on killing the prince?"
"You do know who I am right Yoon?"
"Hmm yes a thief, someone who knows the beauty she has."
"Exactly love, which means all it will take is one moondance with the prince to lure him to his death."
🗡🗡🗡🗡
Y/n sat amongst the chairs that was scattered in the room, her eyes like a hawk, scanning through the lavished room. Her lips pressed against a glass, the music was now playing slow songs but that didn't stop the men and woman to press themselves up against each other. The prince was mingling in the crowd, his smile wide. Laughter seem to be the only action he's been doing the whole night. It annoyed her.
He had no right to be happy after what he's done to her.
Y/n fluttered her eyes close, drinking the last drop of the red wine. Her lips stained the cup as she settled it down in a table. She pushed herself up, her legs walking towards the prince. She swayed her hips a lot more than she would normally would, plastering the most sweetest smile she could muster up.
"Prince Namjoon!" Her voice was soft and velvet, but loud enough for the prince to hear her. Namjoon perked his head, almost reminding her of a dog.
'Too bad he isn't as obedient as one.'
"Oh. Y/n, hello again. Is something the matter?"
His associates eyed her up and down like she was prey. Too bad they didn't know she was a predator.
"Oh nothings the matter, I was just wondering if you'll like to dance with me your highness?" Y/n extended her hand for him to grab while his associates laughed at her proposal. She didn't even waver and only tighten her smile. There was no way she'll let her composure slip. She'll deal with them later, they can mock her all they want, but she won't waver.
"I've never heard of this before, a woman asking a prince to dance? Oh how ridiculous! I guess woman do desperate things to get what they want." One of the old men said. Y/n closed her hand and turned to face the man with a tight smile.
"Well now sire there's no reason to be bitter."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Why it's why your so bitter no? You've clearly never been asked by a woman for a dance. It's a good thing you know, when a woman herself comes to ask for a dance. It brings luck and good fortune, perhaps your businesses isn't doing so well if your so bitter. Even more so if your speaking with the prince." Y/n spoke so softly yet with such venomous words dripping down her lips startling the prince' men.
Namjoon eyed her a bit strange but it soon changed to a smile. He chuckled, placing his glass on a table. He then reached for her hand, his eyes twinkling. If it wasn't for what he done to her, Y/n would've swoon at his looks and beaming smile. She was slightly taken back at the swift gesture, not even able to form a sentence the moment he dragged her to the dance floor. His men stood there wide eyes and their mouths gaped. Y/n licked her lips trying to bit back the smile that twitched to her lips.
"You know that was quite rude of you your highness just leaving them." Y/n chuckled. Namjoon stopped on the dance floor, one hand on her waist while the other held her hand. He had a charming smile, so bright and nearly as innocent. It was a dangerous smile, a smile that can make you forget your worries. A smile that can be flash and suddenly you forgot the fight you had with him. It almost made Y/n waver, but she would not be easily swayed. It takes a lot more for her to be beaten down.
"They are rude as well but just say things that appease me to get their ways. I am not naive as they perceive me to be Y/n." Namjoon place her free hand on his shoulder, letting music carry their feet away. Y/n kept up her facade, her smile as sweet as her voice. She even laughed at his remark. Men loved when woman laughed at their remarks and jokes rather it was funny or not. Y/n knew how to play her cards right, she met far too many men to know how they acted and think, and the prince was no less.
"I didn't think the second heir to the throne would ever be so naive. You are far more wiser than your older brother, but in looks however, I must say he takes the prize." Y/n chuckled. Namjoon shook his head his smile still present.
"So I've heard. I would like to ask one question about you, darling." His smile remain the same but the look in his eyes darken at the pet name. Y/n felt her self waver, but only to play naive.
"Of course anything my prince."
The glint in his eyes didn't disappear even as he leaned against her ear. She felt her stomach turn, biting down hard on her lip.
"Why are you really here? Darling?"
Darling. A affection pet name only Yoongi called her. There was many names he called her but the most affectionate one out of all of them was darling. Y/n wasn't sure why exactly but ever since they met each other as teenagers, that nickname stayed. Yoongi was the only one who knew to call her that. Perhaps it was a coincidence but the way the name left his tongue told her otherwise. Y/n wasn't stupid, she was cunning and smart. Almost like a fox.
She didn't stiffen nor lose her composure, instead played the sweet innocent act.
"Whatever do you mean your highness? I came here on behalf of my brother who you invited to your 24th birthday party. Why, whatever would I come here for then your majesty?" Y/n let her lips pulled into a smile, her eyelashes batting in a innocent puzzling way. Namjoon pulled from her ear, a smile still present, but the grip on her waist tighten and so did his smile. His eyes darken as he spoke in a harsh hush whisper.
"I'm sure every man that lays eyes on you forgets their thoughts. And I'm sure out of 9 out of 10 would've let you get away with it, especially with this pretty dress on. Even if they were aware of that pretty little thing strapped against your thigh."
Y/n dropped her smile and kept her face emotionless, raising an eyebrow at him. Her voice dropping an octave lower.
"And what? Your the tenth?"
Namjoon chuckled, that annoying smile turned into a grin. A grin with one dimple appearing on his right cheek.
"No. I'm the first one to hold on to you, not let you escape my hands. Do you think I'm dumb? Naive darling? Isn't that what your so call brother calls you?"
Y/n now stared up at him, her eyes dark and glared holes into his brown eyes. He didn't even waver at her fierce stare.
"You know anyone would've believed that lie if they didn't know you or him. But I know him better than anyone. After all, he was my friend for so many years until he got greedy." Namjoon swayed her body along the slow music. The people were in their own worlds, speaking amongst themselves. No noticed the strange tension fuming between the two. No one knew why one hated the other. In their eyes it was just a prince dancing with a beautiful woman. Y/n felt her eye twitch, gripping his shoulder with a dark look.
"Greedy? Really? Is that what they told you or is that your conclusion? Because from what I remember is you betraying him and me. Whatever are you talking about? Greedy? If anyone is greedy in this room-" Y/n leaned towards his ear, her lips brushed against his ear lobe.
"-it would be you, your highness." Y/n pulled her head back, her eyes dark and fiery. Namjoon found it amusing, her dark look didn't do anything to him.
"Me? Why ever for darling?"
"Stop calling me that." Y/n growled. Namjoon hummed in amusement, twirling her around before being her close again.
"Why? Do you not like it? I thought you would? After all your lover calls you that no?"
Y/n wanted to push him, stab him, she could and he knew that, he was just testing her. Almost like daring her to do it. This castle was heavily guarded and would easily trap her in its walls. She wasn't dumb but this man in front of her was making her feel like it.
"He's not my lover."
"When a man calls a woman a pet name, it usually means one has feelings for the other."
"With that thinking your adding yourself into the mix." Y/n snarled back. The hand on her waist felt like a burning iron pressed against her waist. She wanted it off. How dare he hold her in such a way.
"Perhaps, did Yoongi ever say why I did what I did?" Namjoon asked with a taunting look. Y/n felt herself grow uncomfortable but also clueless. Now that Y/n thought about it, no he never did. In fact Yoongi never talked about what really happened and only said it was the prince fault. Yoongi used to work for the prince. He was a respectable ally who everyone adored and envied. He was also a childhood friends with the prince. He worked on all the traveling affairs for the prince. He worked hard to get his position however contrast to what people say.
Yoongi made his way on top to even sit in the same table as his childhood friend. Along his studies is when he met Y/n. A poor petty thief among the town. She was only a teen then, heavily relying on Yoongi for everything. He took her in, interested in her skills. Despite Yoongi being an honorable man, he still needed someone doing the dirty work.
And that's when Y/n came in. To return the favor of him bringing her in, she did everything and anything he asked off. Even if it meant killing someone. What was more shocking was the fact Yoongi knew no one would ever suspect such a pretty woman. Her looks always caught the breath of anyone who stood before her. She was a sight to see for sure, and Yoongi knew that better than anyone.
Rather Y/n knew it or not, but Yoongi really did fall in love with her. She was confident and glowing despite the jobs she did, her hands tainted with blood, she was still kind towards everyone and anyone. That's what caught his heart, not her looks but the way she was so kind and sweet towards anyone she met. Because of her looks however, when Yoongi meant the whole room would stop, he meant everyone including the prince. Namjoon was much intrigued by the strange girl Yoongi always kept by his side. His eyes watching her movements in awe. Her beauty was glorious and enchanting. Her mannerisms were clean for someone raised in the streets.
It's sad that a single person can cause such division.
It wasn't long before Yoongi found out the prince was indeed in love with her. It angered him. To him, Namjoon had everything and anything, he could do something bad and would only get a slap on the wrist. While he had to watch all his moves or one wrong move would be his downfall. To him, it wasn't fair. Even worse was since he was the second prince he didn't have to worry about who to marry. He was allowed to marry anyone he pleased. Though Yoongi was quite aware how selfish he sounded on wanting her to himself, he didn't care. This just wasn't fair. He was a literal prince who had everything handed to him while he had to work limb for limb to get where he was at. And this man was going to snatch the very thing that he treasured?
It was a chance Yoongi wasn't going to take.
Now this part Y/n knew about Yoongi trying to leave the castle, supposedly retiring and leave his work to someone else while he takes Y/n to a place far from the castle. He had enough money to let him for years. Or at least he would've if it wasn't for the fact Namjoon caught on wind what he was up to. He stole all his money and left him with nothing. But Yoongi didn't need that money anyway when he had the greatest treasure with him, Y/n who was clueless to what really happened.
Even now she stood in front of the prince, slightly confused at his words. Y/n was sent here to kill the prince and steal back the money he stole. That was the plan, that is what Yoongi told her. Y/n was willing to do anything Yoongi told her and will believe it without question.
"No. But I will never question his authority over me. He helped then and this is what I'll do to repay him."
"So like a solider then? Just mindlessly following his orders without a care? Darling I doubt you feel like that, truly to you want to be treated as a solider?" He asked. Y/n wanted to slap him. Her, a solider? Yoongi would never treat her such. He treated her fairly and equally it was only when she was out of line did he use his authority. Isn't that what friends do for each other?
"Solider? I'm no solider. How dare you! Yoongi does not treat me like such. Why he treats me how partners and friends treat each other." Y/n splat bitterly. Namjoon still had his annoyingly hot grin, it was starting to make her skin crawl.
"Is that so? Darling that's not how friends or partners treat each other. There is no authority over one other, there's only equality, mutual respect for each other. What he's doing to you, that's called manipulation, darling." His one hand raised behind her right ear causing her to stiffen.
"You hear that Yoongi? Your manipulating her. I don't even think at this point you actually love her, you just like the thought of having something I don't." Namjoon ripped the ear piece from her ear causing her to hiss slightly at the harsh gesture. He apologized quietly before smashing the small device in his fist. Y/n stared with slight wide eyes at the broken pieces, seeing it crumble on the dance floor. Then Namjoon returned his hand to intertwined back to hers while she was still in shock.
"Can't have him listening anymore now can I?"
Y/n averted his eyes back at him, a clear frown on her features something he's only see truly genuine for the whole night.
"You piece of sh-"
"Careful now darling, there's people starting to watch us. You don't want to cause a scene do you?" He whispered lowly in her ear. Y/n inhaled sharply through her nose, not wanting to admit how right he was.
"Good girl. Are you really not going to question what I said?"
"About?" Y/n looked rather unamused and wanted to leave the room. Her mission failed miserably, the most she could do now was search for an exit. But he was making rather difficult holding her with an iron grip.
"About Yoongi loving you."
Y/n blinked before throwing her head back in laughter, startling the surrounding people. She quickly covered her mouth, her laughter calming down. Namjoon looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Now when did you became so funny? Sputtering nonsense, you do know how to ease the tension in a room I suppose." Y/n chuckled, her laughter completely dying down.
"I'm not sputtering nonsense. Rather you believe me or not, it's true. Yoongi was in fact in love with you. But I'm assuming the way he's treating you now, I don't think it's love anymore."
"And what would a prince know about love?" Y/n mocked.
"A lot more than you think darling. I'll ask this again, do you know why Yoongi did what he did?"
Her silence gave him the answer as he continued.
"Greedy he got greedy. He had something I wanted but he wanted it too, so henceforth taking his treasure away from the castle. Now to most people it didn't have any value, but to us it did. Even if it was a rather petty thief, I still wanted her." His voice was low and nearly a mumble at the end, his eyes swirling an emotion Y/n was definitely not used to. She's seen it in Yoongi but it disappeared years later, so why was Namjoon expressing the same emotion?
"Petty thief?" Y/n mumbled, her eyebrows furrowed in thought. Y/n wasn't going to lie, she did feel something towards the man, rather it was attraction or something else Y/n never knew. She told Yoongi about it but he told her she was merely infatuated with him since she knew for many years as well. She just adores the prince like everyone did. So why was that expression wavering her usual stone cold heart?
"I don't know who your talking about but I know for certain it's not-"
"Are you that naive darling? I know your not, in fact your very cunning and smart. You sly like a fox, no way you don't understand what I meant. What I think is your trying to deny whatever your thinking is and put up some excuse. In some ways you are naive for you don't know the difference between manipulating and friendship. Or any relationship besides strictly business." He held her closer, his eyes hooded and hazy as he looked down at her. Y/n felt a rush of butterflies swarm in her stomach, her stomach doing flips. She was so confused on what these feelings were but she didn't like them, what happened to hating him? Did it really only take a couple of words and dancing to waver her?
The music was even slower, the lights lower and now everyone was on the dance floor ready to sway with each other. Her cheeks were hot feeling his face inches away from hers. The last time such feelings even resurface was many years ago when she first saw him, talking to his brother.
It was the first time she saw the prince since being in the castle with Yoongi. She was so in awe, his beauty none she's ever seen. It was then she started to watch him, his mannerisms and his smile. His smile was dangerous, always two dimples dented his cheeks always causing her to swoon. Now that Y/n thought about it, the moment she told Yoongi about her feelings for the prince, it was only weeks later they left the castle.
Did Yoongi really know what Y/n was feeling and just lied about it?
"Y/n?"
The sound of her name caused her to come back to reality, meeting his dark chocolate eyes. They still swirled with that emotion, it was so warm. Like a warm fireplace that burned and licked the wood into its flames, creating such a warm atmosphere.
"Huh?" Was all she was able to say, usually she had elegance, but for whatever reason her stare was catching her off guard. Why was his gaze so warm, so comforting? Was that stare even for her? Even his chuckle that erupted from his round rosy lips caught her even more off guard, why is she just now seeing his handsome features? Why was the dim lighting making him so damn irresistible?
"Did you even hear what I said? Hmm this is a first usually your so poised and proper, may I asked what's on your mind?"
"Like you care. When are we going to stop dancing, my feet hurt. I only asked for one dance, not several." Y/n huffed, trying to deny those wretched feelings that stir inside her chest.
"Perhaps just one more moondance, don't you think? After all didn't you tell Yoongi you'll kill me after one moondance?"
Y/n glared at him, her hand slipped down to his chest, ready to push him away from her.
"Your right but obviously that has failed and I want to leave. I'm confused and I have lots of questions to ask him, now let me go."
"Your not even going to ask how I know?"
Y/n rolled her eyes and continued to glare at him. But even her glare didn't make him loosen his grip.
"Because I'm aware you have ears even in the walls. Now let me go you little sh-"
"No."
"Excuse me?"
Namjoon only gave a charming smile into return, holding her closer.
"You heard me darling, the answer is no. Whatever questions you have, please do ask I'll answer them."
"And why would I trust your word over his? I would rather just go speak with Yoongi whom I trust." Y/n scoffed, ignoring the way her heart beat through her rib cage.
"Perhaps you could but rather you don't believe me, I would only give you the answer to your questions. No lies, no hiding just answers. Isn't that what you want? I'm sure Yoongi would give you the shorten version of it, perhaps his own version of it. I only give you the truth and only the truth. Once again it's your choice to listen or not." Namjoon explained, his smile never even wavering. He was so charming it was started to annoy Y/n, ignoring how his smile caused wonders in her stomach.
"Fine then if you insist, why did you and Yoongi broke apart?" Y/n asked.
"Quiet simple really darling, like I mention earlier we end up loving the same girl at the same time. The thing is however, I was starting to realize Yoongi was getting power hungry especially since he knew I liked the same girl he kept by his side. It was the only thing anyone ever had over me. He grew jealous and greedy, taking the girl away even when I took back the money he owed. Most of that money I gave him since he was my employee. I was hoping that would send him back, but it didn't and ran off with the only thing in the world I ever truly wanted. But I'm almost certain the girl liked me back otherwise that won't be enough for Yoongi to just leave if she didn't." Namjoon soften his stare, staring down at her eyes that were filled with curiosity.
"What do you mean? Girl? What girl?"
Namjoon placed his hand on her cheek, his thumb softly gazing across her cheek. She looked clueless or perhaps she was putting up an act, Namjoon didn't know. But he just wanted to stare at her eyes forever. Long has he been away from her and the moment his eyes landed at her the moment she walked in, he couldn't stop staring. She's grown to a fine woman who still held her elegance. Yet no one in the room would ever really guess she was a thief and practically an assassin.
"You darling. We fought over you. It's really immature if you really think about. A couple of grown men fighting over a woman when she herself should choose who she wants."
"Now your being ridiculous again. You and him fighting over me? You know how idiotic you sound right? What delusions are you having?"
"You are really bold you know darling? What right do you have calling me idiotic? I'm a prince am I not?"
Y/n sealed her lips, narrowing her eyes at him. He was right, again. Her tongue was spitting out venomous words completely forgetting he's a prince who has the power to kill her with just a wave of his hand.
Namjoon seem to like her response, lightly nuzzling his nose in her hair. Y/n had a rush emotions filed her once more. That small gesture was causing her mind to scatter. She couldn't think straight again, her cheeks felt hot again.
'Again with this feeling?'
"Don't worry darling, I would never actually use my authority over you." He whispered so softly, Y/n almost missed it. Just what was this feeling again? The music was slowing down and people were filling the atmosphere with quiet whispers, hush tones and hooded eyes. Y/n felt her eyes soften, embracing the warmth he radiate, completely forgetting her mission.
She felt so warm, and comfortable, something she hasn't felt in a long time. Even when she was with Yoongi for those many years, nothing came even close to this. Without thinking, Y/n laid her head on his chest giving him the okay to lay his chin on her head. She could hear his soft breathing and his rapid heart that beat harshly against his rib cage. Was she causing this?
"You like me too, don't you darling?" His soft voice cause her to perk her head slightly, before turning her head to face him. She had a small frown on her lips.
"Like you? I don't know what your-"
"Darling, that feeling your feeling right now, that's exactly how I feel. That's the feeling of love darling."
Y/n thinned her lips, looking straight at his chest to avoid eye contact. Those words causing more damage than she wanted to admit. Her heart fluttering and her cheeks hot. This dress suddenly felt too tight and too hard to breath in. Again, he was right. Could he just for once be wrong?
"It's not."
"Then look me in the eye my darling, and tell me that." He challenged.
She didn't answer.
Y/n instead took both of her arms and wrapped them around the prince slightly stumbling him. She hid her face into his chest, her cheeks even hotter, her stomach in knots. Namjoon blinked, taken back from her sudden movements. His own heart sputtered, nearly forgetting how to work.
"D-darling?" His own words came out scrambled, his cheeks dusting with pink, but the dim lighting hid it well.
"I do not like you!" She muffled into his chest but her actions spoke otherwise, gripping the back of his shirt.
"Darling I said to look into my eyes and tell me that." Namjoon chuckled, his fingers touching her soft bouncing curls. Y/n whined slightly, moving her head to face him again but his hand still touched her curls.
"I do like you!"
At that moment precisely, the music stopped and people stopped dancing. The lights were brighter and the hush speaking, only became louder instead. Namjoon felt his heart stop, his eyes wide, his cheeks only getting redder and redder by the second.
"You do?"
Y/n felt her mouth go dry. She said the wrong words. That's not what she meant. She does? No she doesn't! Y/n immediately pushed herself away from him, flustered.
"N-no. Excuse me, your highness." She quickly bowed and rushed out of the crowd. Namjoon watched her go, still awe struck. The thumping of his heart didn't stop and only grew louder and louder by the minute.
Y/n rushed out of the ballroom, her heels clicking against the floor. Her heart was thumping for multiple reasons, one being mainly for Namjoon and other because she was running out of the castle. At least trying too, she was too in her head and now she was lost in a big hallway that barely lit from the torches.
Y/n place one hand on the wall while the other held close to her beating heart. She was sent here to kill, not to fall in love. Y/n felt her eyes well up with tears, so many emotions ran through her, making her dizzy. The emotions bottled and bottled and now she was at her limit. Yoongi would be so disappointed with her. There was a reason he lied, right?
She was usually so poised and proper, her emotions never getting in her way. Yet, it seem like today she was feeling so many different emotions at once. Tears? Really? Why was she crying anyway?
Y/n suddenly remembered something, her hand sliding on her left thigh, lightly reaching for the knife strapped to her thigh. She pulled it out, her eyes staring at the sharp tool. It was a black beautiful dagger that was curved. A gift from Yoongi which why it was perfect killing the prince with it, it would be like Yoongi was killing him with it. But Y/n felt like a disappointment, her mind not in a right place.
Yoongi would be disappointed, possibly punishing her for failing the mission. Lately he's been a lot harsher than normal. Possibly locking her in that white room for days again. She shuddered at the memory, gripping the dagger handle. She would rather die than be in that room. No food or water for days, a way of discipline that she hated from her friend. The tears leaving her eyes without her noticing. She loved that feeling Namjoon gave however. It was so warm, it felt like home. Something Y/n always craved. Would Yoongi kill her for falling in love? Would he trade her life for his? Was he that cruel? Was Namjoon right?
Y/n stared at the dagger looking very appealing at the moment. It doesn't take much right? To just push through the skin and have the scarlet blanket cover her? The smell of iron filling her nostrils while her body coats the scarlet blanket in a lost hallway. No one would find her for days, her body bled out by then. All she needs is one effortless push to-
"Y/n!"
The dagger was snatched from her hand, thrown on the floor and arms wrapped her. Y/n looked up with wide teary eyes. Namjoon was breathing heavily, his own eyes wide and cheeks flushed from moving so fast.
"What were you doing love?!" Namjoon yelled out in worry. Y/n blinked, looking at down at his chest. Her words stuck in her throat.
"I-I don't know. I j-just-scared." Y/n fumbled out, tears still clearly leaving her eyes. Namjoon cupped her cheeks, wiping the tears from her eyes. He was still out of breath. He ran to chase after her, calling her name several times before he found her here, alone and looking at dagger with longing. He called her name even more but she didn't reply, it was only when she was itching the dagger towards her abdomen did he finally move. She was fine moments ago, what happen? Was Yoongi a lot worse than Namjoon predicted?
"Scared of what darling?" He asked softly. Y/n was still shaken up about the whole thing, looking up at him with glossy eyes.
"Y-Yoongi. I failed the mission, I c-can't kill you. He'll put me in that r-room again, Namjoon I don't want to g-go in there again!" Y/n cried, her whimpers echoing afterwards. Namjoon let go of her cheeks, his hand petting her hair.
"Room? Love what room? What's wrong? Tell me darling." He soothed, making her look at him. It shaken him to see her cry, to see this usually strong woman shed tears. Y/n hiccuped, so confused on her own emotions.
Her? Afraid? What was going on with her today?
"N-nothing. Nevermind." She whispered, pulling her head away from his hands. She inhaled through her nose, wiping away her tears.
One moondance, that's all it took for her to change.
Namjoon looked at her, once again using his hand that slipped under her chin to force her to look at him.
"Hey love, are you confused?" He asked softly. Y/n nodded unsure what he was getting at. What, was he going to mock her? If that was the case Y/n would rather leave.
"The emotions a bit confusing love?"
Y/n nodded again, a clear pout on her lips. Namjoon almost cooed at her cuteness but cleared his throat.
"I know, but don't close them, don't bottle them, let them run okay? Did it really take this pretty thief one moondance to figure this out?" He teased lightly, playfully tapping her nose. Y/n blinked but before she could even speak, he swoop down to capture her lips. Y/n made a small noise of surprise, his plump soft lips against hers. It didn't take her long before she melted in his touch, giving him the okay to wrap his arms around her waist. She fluttered her eyes close, lightly gripping his bicep. Her lips were unsure and kept withdrawing each time it became too confusing. Namjoon chuckled between their lips, raising on hand to hold her cheek. He pulled back a bit, his eyes hooded as he looked down at her.
"Hey love, relax okay?"
"I am relaxed." She mumbled, her eyes solely focused on his lips. His thumb touched her bottom lip while he chuckled again.
"No your a bit tense love. Relax, never done this before darling?" He whispered. Y/n flickered her eyes up at him, giving him a weak glare. Her hand on his bicep gave him more of a pitch than a squeeze. He hissed, quickly apologizing.
"No I haven't. Shut up." She grumbled, pulling her head further away from his prying eyes. He leaned down to quickly peck her lips with one of his charming smiles.
"I'm kidding darling, I know you haven't. Come on look at me, I'm sorry." He cooed, starting to kiss the side of her head. Y/n felt her cheeks heat up, tensing at his gentle kisses.
"Stop."
"No." He whispered between his kisses, trailing his kisses back to her lips to place one more kiss before pulling back all together. He stared into her eyes that still flickered confusion but the swirl of love still lingered inside them. Y/n laid her head on his chest, her own arms going against his waist. Once again that loud thumping ringing in her ears. Guess she really was the only one who can cause that noise.
"Darling?"
Y/n hummed in response, swaying slightly in his arms. Namjoon laid his chin on her head, swaying with her.
"Can I just have one more moondance with you, my love?"
