Comet stormed into the garden area of the castle, for it had been days since his several great-grandmama had returned to the castle and family.

Comet: "Ugh, Maria, why did she have to be so..." He snarled til he tripped on a large set of locked up chainware. "Huh, what the?" He looked at the chain to look upward to see his great grandmother was shackled on her right ankle, trimming up the rose garden with her own claws.

Y/n: "We'll have our day, have our day~" She sang softly before her ears perked up to hear someone tripped, and then her nose twitched a tad. "Hello, little dragon." She said while looking over her shoulder.

Comet: "Grandma Y/n." He said while standing up and looking at the shackled ankle in anger. "I see the magical high commission still fears you." He said while he climbed up onto her shoulders and sat down on her right shoulder.

Y/n: "Oh, that's alright Comet and looked they used real dragon chains, too." She said before sighing softly as she handed Comet a bag of bird feed. "Here, you go feed the birds while I tend to the roses." She said while Comet began spreading bire seed around.

Comet: "How do you do it, grandma?" He questioned while Y/n was putting a bouquet of roses together into a vase.

Y/n: "Do what love?" She asked while listening to her grandson rant about everything, mainly his best friend, who is a human girl named Maria Diaz. "So, you like this, Maria?" She questioned with a knowing smile of her fangs as she saw her grandson flush bright red.

Comet: "What?! No, it's not like that. Well, not anymore anyway." He said while looking aside sadly before Y/n lightly nudged his head to look back over at her. "It's just Maria thinks just because I'm a prince, I can get her any job she wants to be beside me." He said while Y/n hummed softly.

Y/n: She carefully sat down on the garden bench as she shrank down to a more manageable size and placed Comet onto her lap. "Comet, you know that you can do that exactly so, but now that this Maria is here, do you want her to stay?" She questioned while Comet gave her confusing answers before telling her that Maria was now a squire of the wash. "Oh, dear that is very problematic then. Not every squire has ever survived the knighthood of the wash." She said explaining to Comet that the laundry room was the most dangerous part of the castle.

Comet: "Maria! I got to go." He said while jumping off of his grandmother's lap and was about to leave but not before kissing Y/n on the cheek. "Thanks, for listening to me, great-grandmama. Love you, thanks for the popcorn." He said giving her back the bag of bird feed.

Y/n: She watched as Comet ran off before looking into the bird feed bag to see the poor lad had eaten half of it himself while talking to her. "That wasn't popcorn." She said before the guards took her back to her tower, she carefully placed the rose filled vase at her bedside than began writing into a diary.

A few days later

Y/n hummed within her tower's bedroom, reading a book of the history based on her son; Festive Dragonfly. Her long white hair was bundled up in a bonnet, and she wore a reddish purple nightgown with a hole for her tail.

Y/n: "Ah, what a wonderful night." She said before closing up her book and set it beside her husband's ancient crown about to go to sleep until Glossaryika jumped onto her bed ranting her husband's name in a frantic nature. "Glossy, what's wrong?" She questioned before using the secret tunnels of the castle to arrive in Comet's bedroom to see a huge portal and thought fast making a rope of bedsheets to toss it into the portal than pulled it harshly as two teenagers were revealed to her eyes. "Are you both alright?" She asked while walking over to Comet and looked him over for injuries.

Comet: "Great grandmama Y/n, I'm so glad you're here. Wait a minute, why are you here in your pj's?" He questioned while Y/n finished checking him over for wounds.

Y/n: "Oh, I was getting ready to sleep when Glossy here wandered into my tower frantic as a squirrelacorn." She said before Comet was separated from her by a young girl.

Maria: "Y/n!" She exclaimed out with a gasp before looking over at Comet. "Isn't she that ancient evil monster queen everyone's talking about?" She questioned while Y/n looked down at her with a slight smile. "We don't trust you one bit, lady!" She exclaimed looking up at Y/n.

Y/n: "Oh, your a brave little girl aren't you. You're scared I'll get my seductive and evil cooties on you?" She teasingly joked before noticing that Maria got into a fighting position of sorts. "What's that, some sort of human sword hand battle ritual?" She questioned while laughing softly as she looked down at Maria. "You're so adorable and I definitely approve of you, little flower." She said copying Maria's stance.

Comet: "Uh, Maria, my great grandmamas isn't really that dangerous." He said before the lightning bolt on his cheek glowed brightly alongside his cheeks when Y/n approved of Maria. "Stop! I have ten times dose of my daily weirdness in the last hour so please don't do this now." He said while Y/n and Maria backed off to look at him. "Let's just call this a night, okay." He said before pushing a disagreeing Maria out of his bedroom and stopped his grandmother from leaving. "Wait, grandmama I need to ask you something about grandpa." He said while the two sat down, he used his magical cane to make a flying tea set with a cake appear before they talked. "So, that's about it." He explained calmly as Y/n took a sip of tea from her cup. "Every night I still go all "Rah! Dragonfly monster!" Ugh, I just wish I could make it stop." He said while taking a piece of cake to munch on it slowly to calm his flustered nerves.

Y/n: "Hmm, I see but do you need to stop it?" She questioned while Comet gave a seriously look. "While yes today was horrible, what about the other times?" She asked while Comet explained to her that they were actually the best times he ever had. "You know, if your great grandfather was here right now and knowing him well as I do. He'd tell you not to run from these dreams but embrace them, explore them and see where they'd take you." She said while holding her tea cup out as the teapot refilled her cup as Comet looked aside in doubt, she carefully set the cup aside and took the boy's hands into her own. "Comet, I may not know all the answers involving your magical gifts but I know your monster genes well. Both sides of your blood wants to learn what you are truly capable of." She said before leaning down to place a kiss onto his forehead to wish him goodnight. "I have to go back to my tower before the guards notice I'm missing, sweetheart." She said while standing up as Comet asked her how she had escaped her tower to which the two began a nightly walkabout through the Dragonfly castle secret tunnels that she and Eclipse would use when they were younger in life. "All knowledge is good knowledge my dear Comet." She said while she and Comet were sparring in the castle's training battlegrounds.
